[Archived] Megson Sacked, Coyle Takes Over

There are indeed two sides to every dispute, and it only needs someone with a working knowledge of employment law to see where the errors lie. And I'll give you a clue, it isnt Owen Coyle.

I can't see Burnley have done anything wrong either, my only issue is with how this has been handled through the Press.

Ah, the press...

Bolton make a move for Owen Coyle.

Owen Coyle wants to go to Bolton.

But it's all the fault of the press.

Now, I understand.

Enough already.

Who is backing Sean O'Driscoll for the Burnley job?

This is becoming a bit too bizarre.

Not in this window.

Actually, Longsiders first post a few days back!!

Sean O'Driscoll is a very good football coach and I know for a fact that he has been considered by Burnley.

But he is one of the dullest managers you have ever come across.

If he has been interviewed I would guess he has been scored off the list.

By Burnley Football Club. Talking about his replacement as a starter for 10.

So what? Coyle had indicated to them, on more than one occasion, that he wanted to take the Bolton job. He did not want to go back to work at Burnley and would never have gone back to work at Burnley even though they didn't want him to leave in the first place.

Who was right and who was wrong is now completely irrelevant as they've now settled indicating both sides had a grievance of sorts.

It is, but it will have had a bearing on the legal opinion provided at the time by the LMA, which is what you referred to and what I responded to.

Only one party made press releases, and again, it wasnt Owen Coyle.

Hilarious.

As funny as Paul Ince posted too.

The mind played a trick on me. I thought Doncaster had beaten Burnley home and away.

Whoops, there's a clue about another candidate.

Now he's the one I'd like to see- to be fair they battered us at home but lacked a goalscorer.

By the way - Davey appearing is nothing to do with me - I'd put money on Lambert

Why?

If you go back and "check your facts" as you keep advising me to you'll see that 1.5m was in fact the figure reported in the Sun.

I said earlier you were obsessed with Nicko and you are--------------obsessed with attacking him that is.Bolton went for the manager they wanted who happened to be employed by Burnley just as Hughes was employed by us when City came for him. Burnley allowed him to talk to them, he decided to go, the compensation in Coyle's contract was 1M, that's the sum agreed. What more is there to say? Its not our club anyway, let them do the "he did, he did not" stuff on their sites. Why should we care?

Unless of course you are obsessed with having a go at Nicko and can't let it go.

Wow, Nicko's got his work cut out this morning. The criticism of Coyle in the written press is deafening.

I'm not surprised. I've noticed here the press and commentators seem to have some form of soft spot for the clarrots. I have figured out why yet, sympathy perhaps. Coyle is IMHO a good upcoming manager who I have respect for, yes even when he was at the Dingles. He's looked out for himself and his career and I am sure there is some form of letdown by the clarrots upper echelon that has yet to come out that promted him to want out.

Why dont Rovers throw in a cheeky bid for Eagles....balls 'em up even more!

Welcome to the cut throat world of the Prem Clarrotts!

SG you should well know he is too skillful and creative for BFS' style of play.

Seems like you're more obssessed with me than I am with nicko.

What does it matter to you if I disagree with nicko about something?

I think it's the fact you're relentlessly posting on this thread at all hours and commenting on every single post or point he makes.

Fair enough, I apologise if that's everyone's perception and I'm boring them to death.

I disagree with his role in all this and stand by that. I hope I've been constructive at all times in pointing out WHY I disagree.

I'm sure he'll write many many stories in future I agree with or have no issue with as well.

I think RevidgeBlue is obsessed with other people commenting on how he's obsessed about commenting on nicko. Just like I'm obsessed with RevidgeBlue being obsessed with other people commenting on... OH GOD.

Can we get over this Owen Coyle thing? Nicko was doing his job, Owen took a career decision that may or may not turn out to be the correct one. What's with the endless speculation? The only reason people have sympathy for Burnley is because they've been pushing above their weight under Coyle and everyone involved feels a little cheated because Owen decided to stop making miracles happen with Burnley to manage an average Premier League side.

Whatever you may think of Owen's decision, he doesn't owe Burnley anything. He was brought in, given ridiculously limited results and turned complete scraps into a giant killer. So there's no need to direct hatred towards him. Whatever his decision to leave was, it was his decision and he has the right to make it, no matter what he said in the past. He wasn't god, he was a manager working a job, if Burnley held him in such high regard they should've done all they could to keep him.
