I think you need a bit of 'life' about you in the Premier League - for the players, for the fans and for the media.

It's ok doing a very good, steady job in a Championship club that is virtually ignored.

There is a spotlight in the Premier and you need to be able to handle yourself.

It's showbiz these days, like it or not.

Right, so are you saying bright lively personality bring bright lively football?

And dour personality bring dour football?

If so, it explains a lot ;)

You need to get the players geed up and believing in you.

You need the fans to follow you and believe in you.

You need the media to think you are great and quoteable.

It's a bit sad, but it's the way it is.

O'Driscoll is a very decent man who plays smashing stuff, but it takes more than that these days.

I am still stunned that O'Driscoll is favourite. His record is good, his football is fine.

But personality-wise...let's just say I wouldn't be backing him to get the job just yet.

so it will be brian laws then, are these the only 2 in the frame as reported on sky?

I will say it again...Grayson was the first they went for, Laws was standby, O'Driscoll HAD to be met because they had not considered him last time and knew next-to-nothing about him.

A lot of these things are about interviews. Coyley skated it last time and beat far bigger names.

Put Coyley in with Real Madrid's president and he would get the job.

Whoops, shouldn't have let that slip...

I'm sure it will be on sky soon, as I'm sure they also have sources who have sources etc

It must be said this is the one worrying thing about the Sam scenario, would we be fishing in the same murky pond?

O'Driscoll and Laws BOTH being interviewed today.

O'Driscoll thinks he has got it and told the Doncaster people he was off.

However Laws will be in there shortly.

Watch that come out on Sky in the next few minutes.

I'd read it on BBC News already. It was on there two hours ago

I'm worried, very worried. I've just read that from a Blackburn Rovers perspective.....

I think what you say is correct, nicko, and none of it seems to apply to us. :(

Certainly not - we have a much greater reputation - we're known in Europe for a start which Burnley are not.

Yes, Laws 'has been' interviewed.

He is also 'being' interviewed again right now.

So it's at the interview stage...

And O'Driscoll isn't past the post as Sky have been suggesting.

In fact it wouldn't shock me if we had a double Devon Loch here.

Had to google Devon Loch - interesting theory.

This is quite true - few people can forget the sight of the Rovers players knocking ten bells out of each other.

I've come to realise that you only tend to resort to irrelevant jibes when you've run out of meaningful things to say. It does you no credit.
