Neil Weaver Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 We need to get hold of them Owen Coyle masks that were given out at the morgue last season, how good would it be to have the away section at there place full of OC masks on derby day Yep, I'd definitely be up for that. Might you be able to gather a few (hundred) Gav? Maybe a whip round could get a few hundred more from Hughesy's site. Optimistic I know.
Zulu Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Yep, I'd definitely be up for that. Might you be able to gather a few (hundred) Gav? Maybe a whip round could get a few hundred more from Hughesy's site. Optimistic I know. So the scenario is going to be as follows: A couple of thousand Rovers fans chanting "Allardyce out!" whilst wearing facemasks of Bolton Wanderers' manager. Meanwhile the Burnley fans are singing "We hate Bolton more than you, we hate Bolton more than you!" And we've got rid of Megson! You couldn't make it up.
nicko Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I would love to hear Sean O'Driscoll's view on his talks yesterday...keep an eye out for that one.
beerwins Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I would love to hear Sean O'Driscoll's view on his talks yesterday...keep an eye out for that one. Well he was packing his bags for burnley as I heard it, wonder if he stole a towel from the bathroom on the way out
EwoodGlory Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I would love to hear Sean O'Driscoll's view on his talks yesterday...keep an eye out for that one. You we're absolutely spot on with that one, got to lay him at the best possible time. Thanks I've never seen so many odds on favourites in a market before.
longsiders1882 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 So the scenario is going to be as follows: A couple of thousand Rovers fans chanting "Allardyce out!" whilst wearing facemasks of Bolton Wanderers' manager. Meanwhile the Burnley fans are singing "We hate Bolton more than you, we hate Bolton more than you!" And we've got rid of Megson! You couldn't make it up. You wish - you will never be that important to any other team, least of all Burnley or Blackburn. Nobody cares enough about Bolton to have a rivalry with you. You are however temporarily high on our dislike list - it will pass, as will Mr Coyle if another job comes along.
Ozz Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Burnley-Settling down for a nice long spell in the lower leagues. Again.
Stuart Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 A Bolton fan and a Burnley fan having a pop at each other and Rovers... on a Rovers forum. You couldn't make it up!
Claytons Left Boot Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I mentioned on here a while back that I would have gone for Simon Grayson, but bearing in mind he will no doubt see the job through at Leeds, I would then have approached Paul Lambert. However, I am delighted that they have chosen Brian Laws (stop laughing at the back) who will give them a speedy, one way ticket to the Championship and beyond. Couldn't be better.

Signed just in time for their trip to old trafford on saturday too
Lurid Coat Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I wonder if he will come into Turf Moor and lay down the law?
Gav Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Yep, I'd definitely be up for that. Might you be able to gather a few (hundred) Gav? Maybe a whip round could get a few hundred more from Hughesy's site. Optimistic I know. Looking into it, could be possible. I do recall the police turning away Rovers fans with T-shirts on depicting the fly over back in the late 90’s, maybe we’ll have to wear the OC masks inside out until we get into the ground……. You couldn't make up no.........
Kelbo Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Be very careful not to pre empt situations!!! Brian Laws does seem an odd appointment but lets see how he goes before we comment too much, I would hate us to be left with egg on our faces, but hang on here, has he got a pro license?? Now that would be very interesting to know!!
Moorey Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Yes he has a Pro License. That was covered in one of the post-appointment interviews. John Carver (sp) coming in as coach apparently.
thenodrog Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Brian Laws for me all the way on the basis of no compensation needed. As I said in the close season Kilby and Flood imo are now seriously into the business of making hay whilst the sun is shining. I thank you. 'Milk the (cash) cow' policy at t'turf. Obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse and all that. Do you know one of these days I will drop a completely random name on here and link him with a job and see how far it goes...

philipl Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Burnley will complete the double over the Mancs- just watch. (Right that's the dingles scuppered) The BBC are convinced by the Laws appointment (not)
Claytons Left Boot Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I've just had a very close look at the photograph in philipl's link and have noticed that Laws only has one top lip.
mellison24 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I've just had a very close look at the photograph in philipl's link and have noticed that Laws only has one top lip. As everybody hopefully does......or do you just mean the one lip (his bottom lip)?
thenodrog Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Brian Laws not such a bad choice? Can't see Payton getting anywhere near her airing cupboard..... but I bet he'll try.
longsiders1882 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Lets not confuse the talk of the fans with that of the team. Regardless of what has happened it would have been an important fixture for us to try and win - now it has extra spice. Having watched the Arsenal game I didn't quite see this wonderous performance you all did - looked much like we've seen at Burnley all season without the crisp passing - similar standard of finishing.

But you knew that already.
