Amo Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I knew that kit was a bad omen the moment I saw it. And for those who might believe Pedersen is being put in the shop window: THINK AGAIN. The more they see, the less they'll want him!

MarkBRFC71 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 This just about sums Rovers up under Allardyce - from the BBC: 2028: Craig Bellamy scampers down the left and finds a lovely pass inside to Carlos Tevez, the striker just crowded out by the defender. And then, as if to emphasis the difference between the two sides, Morten Gamst Pedersen lumps a long ball in the vague direction of Franco di Santo, who has no chance against three defenders, and City win the ball back. Repeat the bold bit ad infinitum, and you've got Sam's entire tactical plan.
Dan Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 The negativity coming off of some of you guys...christ. Their team is pretty damn weak if you ask me,bar one or two obvious exceptions. Save your negativity for if/when we're losing/have lost. Support your team.... What were you saying again? We all knew we'd play @#/?, it was obvious from the starting line up. I just hope John Williams is as bemused as everyone here, maybe the Walkers might be persuaded to sell a yacht or two to raise some money so we can sack the clown, before it's too late.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 We look like a side that has sold its very best players and not replaced them. Our midfield is shocking, absolutely no support for Di Santo. (Please don't use that word again) the league cup! There's a very good chance we are going down on this form.
Muddboy Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 To be fair, the ref isn't helping matters. He's missed loads of decisions.
Amo Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 To be fair, the ref isn't helping matters. He's missed loads of decisions. Like sending Andrews off for impersonating a footballer.
Miker Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Uhhh it's only been 20 minutes. You guys must all be on your periods if you get upset at not playing well for the first 5-10 minutes. It's completely unrealistic to expect us to beat every top 6 team. As I write this, we had a decent spell of possession just before and we're doing a better job at keeping Man City at bay.
patrickvalery Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 How to play against Bellamy and Petrov? - Start the two slowest full backs at the club. How to stop the supply to Bellamy and Petrov? - Put a young Nzonzi alongside Andrews - the player with absoltuely no discipline or understanding of keeping shape. I could justify playing 4-5-1 if we were conceding late on, having kept it tight for an hour or so. But seemingly everytime we play it we concede early and the formation and personnel employed in it have no means of coming back. As soon as that bloody goal went in we should have brought on Kalinic for Andrews and Hoilett for Pedersen.

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I feel sorry for our players they are just not very good. It's boys against men every week. Without money we simply can't compete I wonder why Reading and Leeds bothered to come out of the changing rooms, they've no money either.
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Yeah but forget SA and be fair, MGP is NO Craig Bellamy is he? It's more about the fact that Bellamy ran with the ball, whereas Pedersen lumped .... well, you know the rest.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 This is just like an exhibition match. Nothing from both teams but City will score next if anyone is to. I'd also love to know how many goals we've conceded in the opening 15 minutes of matches this season. It's criminal.
Backroom DE. Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 To be fair, the ref isn't helping matters. He's missed loads of decisions. The ref isn't to blame for our shocking, negative, mundane style of "football".

I understand what you are saying. The thing is, if in the first ten minutes you see that your team is using the same idiotic tactics as in the previous ten matches and using a line up that a monkey could identify as odd then yes, you are fully in your rights to complain.

Hughesy Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Take that tosser Andrews off & replace with Kalinic

Backroom trueblue Posted January 11, 2010 Backroom Posted January 11, 2010 We are even making Benjani look good
Roverall Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 1 up front. Hoof, lose, hoof, lose. No energy, skill or fight. Allardyce slumped in the stands. I am angry and embarrassed (again) watching this dreck.
AndyC Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 miker - most people just seem to object to the style of football we're playing. fulham have spent no money, have players of very similar quality to ours, but their manager has instilled a way of playing football on the ground instead of the negative pass sideways / backwards stuff that rovers are intent on playing.

I don't buy that, surely the way to get to teams is to hit them hard for the first 5-10 mins? Unsettle them, try to not be so predictable? I'm no tactician but it's clear that numbers at the back only aren't the key to success. But then neither is starting slowly no?
nick123 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Poundland couldnt shift Pedersen Not even poundland would stock him..

Too right, just watch everyone cheer up when we notch it up 4 gears and knock three past City. Get real, people are fed up of the manager and are letting off steam. Are we meant to wait 20 minutes before appraising the game?
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Again, from the BBC: Jan Molby on BBC 5 live: "There's no real structure to the way Blackburn are playing. They're just hoofing long balls up to the young centre forward, but he's playing on his own." Sound familiar?
