Fife Rover Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I think that a big part of the resentment some fans feel is the N.I.C.K.O. cheerleaders who find their way on to the board during the transfer windows. (Though I don't think this January has been has bad as the Summer - probably because we aren't very active in the market). Nicko does contribute and most of his posts stimulate debate but this would still be a good mb even if Nicko wasn't posting. And remember, Nicko doesn't get it right EVERY time. Probably about 1 in 20... No time to read the even the last few pages, Fife? Yes I know...... Actually it wasn't that at all. I answered as I was reading the posts, and in their order as I come to them. Unfortunately I am often (as in this case) about 24 hrs behind.

Backroom DE. Posted January 18, 2010 Backroom Posted January 18, 2010 Rotten apple in the barrell perhaps? Good player we all know but he doesn't really figure enough to be of consequence and economically viable. Unless in the unlikely event that he stays fit he is becoming an expensive luxury. I dread to think how few times he will turn out if we renew his contract without including a performance gearing. Might be better to let someone else pay his pension contributions. Agreed... his next contract would have to lean towards an average or below-average standard wage, with significant "pay-as-you-play" variables that when he's playing would have him on a very good wage. If he doesn't accept that, then maybe he does need to move on. Unfortunately there will be other clubs who are prepared to offer him a great fixed wage, and our loss could well be their gain, but Dunny is nearly 30 and I really think if he was capable of a run of a sustained fitness he would have shown it by now. We're not a club who can afford to have our wage bill dominated by crocks, and at the moment we have too many of them.
ultrablue Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I know that was mentioned a few weeks ago but it has gone very quiet. I will try to find out. The South Korean kid at Bolton looks a player - and I am not just saying that because of the new manager. Yeah he sure is, they don't mind getting knocked about this new crop. His best mate and the other half of the "Double Dragon", Ki Sung Yong made an impressive debut up at Celtic too.
PAFELL Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 i do believe you started this communication with me, not the other way around. therefore it`s me that needs protecting by the ignore facility.. Yes I did start the communication, in the hope you have come to realise that I am not vinjay and apologise. Obviously you haven't.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Dunny is nearly 30 and I really think if he was capable of a run of a sustained fitness he would have shown it by now. We're not a club who can afford to have our wage bill dominated by crocks, and at the moment we have too many of them. You would think that as he's had his big transfer and surely made enough money out of the game by now, he would be happy to play on a basic contract -just to represent the club he loves!

I assume that you are employing a touch of sarcasm in that last bit?
Guest andrewpickup Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Dunn doesn't have the brains nor the fitness to be a worry to us if he doesn't see fit to sign a new contract and moves on. I'd take money now

Dunn's main problem is he's always thought he's much better than he is, evidenced at least once a game when he tries to take on every man on the pitch and in the stand
nicko Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Nikco, you know where Monaco striker Nimani is going? He has been linked with our 6 fingered neighbours and Bolton before. Was Coyle interested during his Burnley spell, but now have the financial backing to bring him in to Bolton? Nimani has been at Burnley today. Just waiting to see what conspiracy theory is applied to that one. How come I know all this when I'm banned...can't understand it.
nicko Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Any Blackburn news Nicko ? Not even a little...
Craigman Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Any idea who will be Blackburn's new manager ?
paulyrover Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Nimani at Burnley! No way! He's amazing for my Rovers team on football manager, i won't be able to look at him in the same way if he goes to them.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Is Weiss still heading to Bolton and Naughton to Hull, Nicko? Someone read on a Twitter page somewhere about Weiss heading to Hull still.
longsiders1882 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Nimani has been at Burnley today. Just waiting to see what conspiracy theory is applied to that one. How come I know all this when I'm banned...can't understand it. I'm sure we could come up with some conspiracy or another about the floods of information from Turf Moor - or is just more likely that all clubs, players and managers need and use the media at one time as much as they profess to despise and revile them at another?
USABlue Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Nicko, or is it Mrs Owen Coyle now, Heh Heh. I know there is a Hoilett thread, but thought I'd ask here before anyone bitch slaps me for posting in the wrong spot. Anyways, Mr Nicko, any news on Hoiletts contract. I was hoping he only wanted to go because he was not playing, now he is (some) I was wondering if he's changed his mind.

Sandman Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Is Weiss still heading to Bolton and Naughton to Hull, Nicko? Someone read on a Twitter page somewhere about Weiss heading to Hull still. Vladimir Weiss from city?. Nicko, are City, United and Chelsea not going to be signing anyone.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Vladimir Weiss from city?. Nicko, are City, United and Chelsea not going to be signing anyone. Yep. Do you not read Nicko's bits in the paper? lol
Sandman Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Yep. Do you not read Nicko's bits in the paper? lol I haven't bought a paper in ages, usually get most of my news on the internet now. Weiss is a good player from the little I've seen of him and if it's a loan deal then I'm a bit disappointed that Rovers haven't made an effort to sign him.
gumboots Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Agreed. Dunn's main problem is he's always thought he's much better than he is, evidenced at least once a game when he tries to take on every man on the pitch and in the stand Once went to watch training several years ago and all the team were joking about Dunn being the only one in the squad who thought he should play for Barcelona, except they weren't joking.
Hughesy Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Once went to watch training several years ago and all the team were joking about Dunn being the only one in the squad who thought he should play for Barcelona, except they weren't joking. He's always been big headed - hence why him & Souness didnt get on. He seems down to earth when you chat with him...but he seems to think he is a much better player than what he actually is.
