Nafe_rovers Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 What i feel annoyed and depressed about is that i see know one better who can replace him.... except Hughes.... but why would he come back?

beerwins Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 If you are looking for fighting as a team, on a low budget, get more out of what we have, I'd look no further than Mr. Holloway. He's done well in every job he's had bar Leicester. I'd have him here easily, but would he cut it in this league? Although I guess his motivation to prove himself by finallty getting his chance in this league might be a good thing. He'd be my choice after Hughes........my god, we have no hope. Well he didnt want to go to Bumley not sure he would leave blackpool in the lurch, certainly has the man management and the character for the prem, I wouldnt like the task of appointing a new manager at Rovers I tell you that much.
Silencio Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Tony Parkes is out of work isn't he? Yes, probably best left that way as well...

It's such a hard situation. The only appealing option (Hughes) is incredibly unlikely. Even then, the media will slag him and us off for not having any ambition. Surely he'd take Sam's wages (roughly 40k a week) to get back into football again? And with a team he knows about, he knows the running of the club, and maybe he understands that he is best when scouting for good young players, rather than dealing with massive egos? The management is such a mess.....just watch that change if we win convincingly tomorrow haha

We will have done that all winter and lined up targets. If we employ a new manager he will have to work on getting the players fitter and more organised. The league is poor this year and with Burnley, Portsmouth, Hull and West Ham deep in it we stand a good chance of getting out of the mess if we only get fitter and more organised. I would prefer it if Sam can do this himself but looking at the state of us it's doubtful.

Dare I say there will be 'Big Sam, sort it out!' chants a la Ince's last game (Incey, sort it out!) if we don't play convincingly. What happens if we play FANTASTICALLY yet lose 1-0. Such is the fickleness of the football fan, I haven't a clue. But my opinion atmo is that it has gone too far and Allardyce needs to go.
Backroom DE. Posted January 13, 2010 Backroom Posted January 13, 2010 If our performances deserved better results then I don't think there would be anywhere near the anger and despondancy being shown around here. Fact is, we've not deserved to win any of the games we've drawn/lost recently. We're playing awfully, and City just about summed it up.
nick123 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 The question that needs to be asked is 'Who is in charge' There seems to be no leadership or sense of direction anywhere at the club, and we the fans are being treated more and more like the blind, we can see we are in a mess, but told walk away there is nothing to see hear!!!!
XLM Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 BFS has been making a tit of himself in the media as well. Blaming the players. If your team is low on confidence you shouldn't go around bashing them. Especially when it's the tactics that aren't up to scratch. We are at our most dangerous from set pieces and we're shiite at them. I actually dread them coming about because if they clear the ball they're looking at a good chance on the break. BFS out.
nick123 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 It has to be said we are playing the worst football i have seen at Ewood.... Been goin since 1975, ive paid for a brick in the Riverside, I have chucked money in a bucket to pay the phone bill, ive been on the ground with less than a thousand on for a Full members cup game, Ive sat down on Boxing day chanting 'Fox out'!! just before Uncle Jack came in..... The rest is history, but the current crop of players, and backroom staff are just squandering what this great club of OURS has built in the last 20 years or so....breaks my heart to see us abused (and i dont think thats to strong a word)in such a degrading way !! There is out there a new manager out ther with 21st century thinking just waiting to grab the chance, I dont know names but im sure there is, we always have had good managers, even in the dark days Blackburn Rovers always was a romantic club to be at, think its the shirt!! Chin up boys doesnt matter where we play, there will always be BLACKBURN ROVERS..........
RoyRover Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Here are our remaining fixtures. I think it's best to concentrate on the next six, which are absolutely crucial. I think we need a minimum of eight points from them. Fail to do this, and a change may well be necessary. For me, Bolton at home will be Allardyce's crunch game. If we are sitting on 29 / 30 points with 11 games to go, I think we'll be fine. Fulham (h) Wigan (h) West Ham (a) Stoke (a) Hull (h) Bolton (h) Liverpool (a) Birmingham (h) Spurs (a) Chelsea (h) Burnley (a) Portsmouth (a) Man United (h) Everton (h) Wolves (a) Arsenal (h) Villa (a) We are fortunate that the next six games are against teams that are either in or around us and that we can definitely pick points up from. The four home games in particular are quite encouraging and I'd be disappointed if we didn't pick up 10 points from them. These homes games are especially important when you consider that our remaining five homes games after these are against Birmingham, Chelsea, Man United, Everton and Arsenal. The toughest away games we have left are Liverpool, Spurs and Villa, so we should be targeting the Burnley, Portsmouth and Wolves games to pick points up from. Either way, we need to start winning at home and over the next month or so we have the best chance to do so.

Yes Nick, thats the style, and there really are some good young coaches out there who are praying for a chance, Burnley missed out on a good one in O'Driscoll but I will take Nicko's word that he would not be good PR. but, Di Matteo, Keith Hill etc, must have something about them!! Do you know something, I said to my lads last night, I enjoyed the football more in the lower leagues than the Premiership, some of the overpaid prima donnas make my blood boil, they could do worse than a few 40 hour weeks for not much money, they would then realise how life really is!!

We sound like we as a couple of old gits, but in the shadows for many years people like myself have been wondering what does happen if the bubble bursts. we are about to find out !
rebelmswar Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 You never said anything about near-run - simply that you had doubts if we would beat an on form side - we did! Either ask me to go for drinks or stop winking at me. Firstly, I am not as dense as lead: I am well aware that we have beaten a championship team in our campaign this year. Secondly, I do not care what needs to be done to turn this around. It could be a ritual cat sacrifice on the half way line, or the players singing koomba ya in a circle while holding each others testicles. Sometimes I feel you are on someone’s payroll with the job description “Spin Doctor” I haven’t seen so much spinning since my last Run-D.M.C concert. Fact is that at THIS MOMENT our team would be hard pressed to beat a championship team. As for beating Burnley --I should bloody hope so, if we couldn’t get the nerve up to beat that shower of filth at home then we might as well all wear matching track suits and await some comet. Oh and what was that thrashings ending score line… 3-2 Can not WAIT for that game when we are away. Jam Master Jay would not be able to spin that one.

Ricky Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Rebelmswar has been one of those members on here who I've noticed but who I have never really noticed a stand out post from until the last two days where he seems to have made a series of them. Before then he seemed to go about his business quietly, I like this new guy, he's quality!! Good work that man.

For being amusingly snide? *Shrug* No wonder there is so much cat-fighting on this board if people get lauded more for that than intelligent contributions, by the moderators no less. Not saying Rebelmswar doesn't make those too, mind.
Ricky Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 It was more a comment about his post yesterday. Feel free to go and search for it. One of the better posts, probably one of the few that's actually been worth Reading on here over the last few days.
Gav Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Tony Parkes is out of work isn't he? Can anyone point me in the direction of a good brick?
mellison24 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Can anyone point me in the direction of a good brick? Order one at Ewood, just don't let them set it in the ground at the BBE
S15 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Can anyone point me in the direction of a good brick? Eh Gav, who would you prefer, Parkesy or Sam?? Go on, let's 'av it??!
mellison24 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Eh Gav, who would you prefer, Parkesy or Sam?? Go on, let's 'av it??! (If I may) At this moment in time I would say Parkes. BUT I agreed with what you said earlier about Sam being our only feasible option. Sticking with him would seem our only choice and probably IS. Atmo, I thin our only hope is to stick with him and HOPE TO GOD he listens to the concerns of the fans and changes the (and his tactic) around.
