lol just as much of a chance as getting Thierry Henry to Ewood...

So I thought. A qaulity manager, a gem, such as Guus Hiddink is out of our price range and/or would consider the Rovers unfashionable. So I don't think it very likely that we could improve the qaulity of management by sacking Sam mid-season.

And as I saw the Aston Villa game (admittedly from the comfort of my family room on Sentanta, not at Ewood), the Rovers that played today was not a team that was relegation material. The first half was below average (but better than the bottom 3) and second half Rovers played like a top ten side.

So while Sam may or may not be trying to fit square pegs into round holes, I think he's the man to beat the drop. Again.

gus hiddink

As for Souness, i for one will not forget his celebrations when michael owen scored agaionst us at ewood. Him and Dean Sanders jumping about....no thanks.

For now weve still got Sam....im still confused by his description of Villas goal...."beautiful pass"...u what? Anyone with a hint of football ability (me and you) could have made that pass there was a bloody gaping hole in the defence. idiot

It is some time since I last posted, but enough is enough....

Watching Rovers is awful. Absolutely awful.

Long ball, long ball, long ball, long ball. That is not football.

Watching them last night it is quite obvious that have had 'football' drilled out of them.

It's predictable and the players are thoroughly de-motivated by having to play this way.

I am now at the stage where I dismiss away games as a defeat before it even kicks off. There is no spine, no grit, no solidarity.

I have no heroes in this team. Not one. Only Robinson emerges with credit this year.

This is not on the Brian Kidd or Paul Ince scale, just yet but I think it might be closer than people think...

You should be sent to Holloway for such criminal thinking.

At least he'll be able to pick the soap up in the shower without fear!

Hey thats a thought! Pre season lets send Benny and Dunny there for a month.... they'll come back as thin as rakes!

Sam needs to understand that we are not Bolton Wanderers, and we can't play that way successfully, that much is painfully obvious.

I wonder if Owen Coyle possesses the reverse attitude? Hope not. :tu:

If the team come out and play like the first half of the game and persist in that manner and lose he will be gone come Monday, if they come out and play the football that was on display for the second half he will be here for the Villa game...

Saying that though it would be a bit bloody stupid to fire your Manager before the second leg of a semi-final wouldn't it?

I am still pinning my colours on young Bilic if Sam is off in the very near future.

Each time I look at this thread the Donna Summer hit flashes into my mind:

Enough is enough is enough

I can't go on, I can't go on, no more no

enough is enough is enough

I want him out, I want him out that door now

:rover: KIETH HILL IS THE MAN :brfc:

Arguably a bigger gamble than Ince, don't abandon your barstool just yet.

Just to illustrate how difficult it is to pick a manager, the outstanding manager from the lower leagues at present, has to be Billy Davies at Notts Forest. They only came up last season, look likely to get their second promotion in a year, just thrashed West Brom at the Hawthorns and are playing beautiful, attacking one touch football with a lot of young players.. Yet, if you looked at Billy Davies' Premier League record, you wouldn't appoint him in a fit!

Sam - If you want to save your job.

Against Fulham play 4-4-2. Play Kalinic, Hoilett, Ollson, Di Santo (or Benni) & Dunn all from the start!

I agree with that, but not Ollson. He gave the ball away many times in dangerous areas and ran into trouble on quite a few occassions. Looked good going forward, far better than Pedersen! I'd give him a go at left wing.

80% agree with that.

Did you mean Ollson instead of MGP?

If so 100%

Fulham will be very fired up for this, it seems teams always want to be the final nail in a coffin.

To be fair thats a good shout. Im telling you Olsson would improve massively if given much more game time.

He also always gives 100% which is something more than quite a few of our lads cant do!

Does anyone honestly believe Sam is close to the door though? I get the feeling the J.W has a lot more in common with him than he did with Ince, and that he won't be so hasty with the chop.

I can't see him leaving even if he takes us down to be honest.

I have a nagging feeling you may be right on that one.

100% agree, bare minumum at least they will try to play.

Ollson should get a shot at left back. Yes he gave the ball away a couple of times, but hands up how many of our players can say they didn't do exactly the same last night? I can think of one or two who did far worse IMO.

He looked a lot more composed than last time I saw him play there and he certainly gave us an attacking dimension we have sorely lacked since Warnock. He actually got past Gamst and because he has a left foot he could swing it in first time, without having to check back on his right. We finally had balance on our flanks in the second half last night. Also doesn't Fulhams left winger have a bit of pace? We'll need Ollson's there to combat it.

I'm also keen to see Brett back at right back, I find it hilarious (not in a good way) that we now have 3 of them and not one of them is strong defensively. At least Brett used to try and stop crosses coming in as we're conceding at lot now from situations that should have been prevented. He's also got a great engine and will get up and back to support the pacey young lad who should be playing in front of him.

Hoillet must start, I just do not understand why he was not brought on and played against Ceullar. He's the only player without a belly that we have that will run with the ball. He's our quickest player by a mile his pace is no use on the bench.

Di Santo well I just want him and Kalinic together for a few games I think they'll do well together.

I hope Sam does eat humble pie and play an attacking line-up, but is he capable of doing so? Well it is worth £45,000 a week surely thats incentive enough?

You could look at it this way Sam. If you try our way and we go down like stones, you'd get to tell us all your the expert again, with foundation. Surely that must appeal to you big man?

From a financial point of view we just can't afford it. If he goes and we have to pay off him and all his staff, then there's the compensation for any new manager and his signing on fee's, all his backroom, its just too much. Even if we could muster up the money then there would be absolutely nothing left for transfers.

We're getting in a real, real mess. I fear a moderate collapse is looming.
