braddock Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 keeeeeef to score first goal on sunday (and not an own goal) keeeeeef to captain the team on sunday i'd love it.
Mozzer Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 when keith andrews first came to the club i was willing to give him a chance - im not like most fans who have started calling the guy from the off - saying that now - i think he is terrible and offers us nothing - every time i see him on the pitch i think just oh my - and i think hes only there because he does try (even tho he simply isnt good enough ) and the fact we cant get central midfielders fit ..however i wont boo him - and never will ..but we definatly need to improve in the summer . if someone offers us over 1million we should definatly take it

LeChuck Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 and i think hes only there because he does try (even tho he simply isnt good enough ) and the fact we cant get central midfielders fit That's it in a nutshell really, it's not his fault he's playing too many games. Like when Mokoena was here and playing, the problem is that the other midfielders aren't ousting them from the team when they should be with ease. The upside is that he is an improvement on Mokoena. Ideally he wouldn't even be on the bench in our strongest team, but he's useful enough to have around the squad.
thenodrog Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 nah How much is your valuation of him braddock?
CrazyIvan Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 That's it in a nutshell really, it's not his fault he's playing too many games. Like when Mokoena was here and playing, the problem is that the other midfielders aren't ousting them from the team when they should be with ease. The upside is that he is an improvement on Mokoena. Ideally he wouldn't even be on the bench in our strongest team, but he's useful enough to have around the squad. Exactly, he is probably one of our more 'flexible' players in that he literally can play almost any role. He just can't play them like a player who would normally play in those positions. People continue to slate Andrews but they need to think about what he has done rather than pick up on the mistakes he has made. How about dropping into defense when Nelsen got injured and playing well there and winning all the second balls v Bolton? How about putting his body and head on the line at least twice stopping shots from Chelsea and ensuring we got a point? He's not the best in the world, he's not the best in the team but he's way more useful than quite a number who play for us. How's about giving him a little credit and, for those that still do (few now), not booing him again?
cheese12345 Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I wish every one would get off Keiths back. Firstly he is always fit!! 2nd He can play in a lot of different roles. 3rd He is a captain and you can tell he organizes every one on the pitch and this is priceless. So why dont we get behind the guy instead of slagging him off. He is that bad Ince picked him and now Big Sam picks him and he key for Ireland so that is 3 managers in 2season surly they all cant be wrong
braddock Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 How much is your valuation of him braddock? decent squad player on relatively low wages. i'd rather keep hold of him. who would we bring in to replace him who would actually be better at the price we paid for him and the wages we give him? if he wanted to go, or if the manager wanted to sell then i reckon £2mil at least would be about right. as far as i know the player doesn't want to go and the manager wants to keep him so that would mean that the money would have to be more. so i'd put him right now at £3.5million to tempt them into something. edit: bare in mind we will may well be replacing some crocks this season in the centre of midfield so keeping hold of andrews would be wise as he is as a squad player who plays when others are out of form/injured/suspended and we will still need that come next season.
unluckymorton Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 How much is your valuation of him braddock? I appreciate that your question was directed at braddock, but I'd like to add that I value him higher than Reid & Grella put together as he is always prepared to play and when he does play he gives his all.
Amo Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 But don't you see? Most of the positives about Andrews are back-handed compliments: He runs around a lot and isn't a crock like our more talented midfielders. It's not exactly glowing praise. Anyway, I want to know whose great idea it was to sign him up till 2013? I hope I'm still around to see a 32 year-old Andrews bedazzling us with his traffic warden impersonation.
Billy Castell Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I voted to get rid. Mainly so people can shut the ____ up and stop whining. He's also not good enough too mind you. How is that lad from St. Etienne doing? Maybe he can take his place in the 1st team squad.
tonygreenbank Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Its neither boring or old tripe, its views, honest views of football supporters. The truth certainly hurts sometimes. I support my team 100% however if I choose to either dislike or slate a player then that is my choice, lump it or like it. it is my view, echoed by many others that Andrews isnt good enough. Simple as that. If others choose to have a different opinion then good for them, I wont cry foul of it. How can you support your team 100% and still continually slag off one part of it? It`s you who are not being honest!
1864roverite Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 You cannot argue with the stats. Bolton away - Rovers win 2-0 Burnley away - Rovers win 1-0 Common denominator ? Keep Andrews and his fingerpointing off the pitch and Rovers win.
S15 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 so i'd put him right now at £3.5million to tempt them into something. You're having a laugh yeah?
BuckyRover Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I thought we struggled without him to be honest. The midfield missed his bite. Hopefully he will be fit for Saturday.
Kelbo Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I thought we struggled without him to be honest. The midfield missed his bite. Hopefully he will be fit for Saturday. What bite, he rarely gets close enough to bite anything!!

67splitscreen Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Just read on another board, allegedly, when Keef was subbed as he approached the bench a YOB made a comment to him, he threw is drinks bottle at the Yob. can anyone confirm and expand on what happened.
roverblue Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I saw it from where I was sitting at the back of the riverside, as he walked up the steps he sprayed and then launched his bottle at a fan before trying to leap over the barrier to get stuck into him/her. Luckily a load of the coaches and players held him back and eventually he sat down. If he only showed some bite on the pitch instead of fannying around pointing and chasing shadows!
BRFC1995 Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 this thread can't be renamed quick enough to Keith Andrews - GONE
Dufflite Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I just saw Keith lob the bottle and then try to climb over the fence to get at the nob who must have abused him. He was livid and was being restrained or else he would have done a Cantona. Some of our supporters are absolute pricks.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Anyone know what the supporter said?
Al Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 So are some of our players! I just saw Keith lob the bottle and then try to climb over the fence to get at the nob who must have abused him.
