  1. 1. Should Keith Stay or Go?

Recommended Posts

The guy must have something - not sure what it is - but at both club and international level he still continues to get picked.

What is absolutely bonkers is to boo the guy before he has even kicked a ball. Do the fans that boo him think that it will pursuade Sam not to play him - or suddenly make him into a world beater ? Reality is - it effects his performance, probably has a knock on impact on his team mates - and is definitely of no use to anyone connected to the club.

At the end of the day - like him or loathe him (I sit somewhere in the middle - he isn't as bad as some make out, but isn't as good as we really need if we aim to improve) - he is still a Rovers player, and should be supported as such. The guy is human - I wouldn't wish on anyone the type of stick that he has received this season from the clubs own fans. It really is a disgrace - and the fans should be ashamed of themselves.

Not sure who on here leads on the DE Choir - would really be nice to hear a supportive chant for Keith when we play Arsenal. The guy doesn't deserve the stick he gets - it would be nice touch in a season where he has filled numerous roles for us without moaning even when he has been getting stick from the fans. Lets put to one side our opinions of him as a footballer - and remember he is only human like the rest of us.

Good post.

How's about the following to the tune of Mambo No. 5:

A little bit of pointing to the left,

A little bit of pointing to the right,

A little more pointing over there,

A little more pointing over here,

A little bit of pointing in the sun,

A little bit of pointing in the rain,

A little bit of Andrews is all we need!

How about to the tune of Lord of the Dance..

Andrews, as crap as you may be

You're still a Rover so I'll support thee

I'll support you all whoever you may be

I just wish you were as good as Jason Lee

If you think that was bad then check out my earlier versions.... Yes I'm bored!

Andrews, as crap as you may be

You're still a Rover so I'll support thee

I'll support you all whoever you may be

At least you're not a girl like MGP

Andrews, as crap as you may be

You're still a Rover so I'll support thee

I'll support you all whoever you may be

At least you're not a c*** like El Hadji Dioufy

Andrews, as crap as you may be

You're still a Rover so I'll support thee

I'll support you all whoever you may be

If only you could kick the ball more accurately

I don't have a problem with Keith Andrews. He may or may not be a bit below average (and is certainly not the worst) but he's always fit and is versatile, which is a big plus. But for the sake of both his mental health and his career, I was, and remain, convinced that he needs to move on. He's the fans' scapegoat and that won't ever change.

Valid points and I agree totally, which ever player is wearing our famous kit they should receive support from the fans.

However, there will always be brain dead mindless idiots who will abuse our own playing staff. It's as if the media hating us is not enough, certain followers of the Rovers feel the need to fuel the fire!

I bet there isn't another fan based message board in Britain that abuses it's own players in such a way.

Den...you don't need to repeat things to make your point.Boring.

Incidentally, and at the risk of being accused of being an Andrews apologist,I think you'll find that there's a minor argument that he helped to keep us up last season with the points gleaned from a couple of his goals but don't let the facts get in the way of your bullying rhetoric.

Everything that possibly could be said has been said a million times Yeti, so why keep reading?

As for keeping us up - plain daft point.

im not a fan of andrews at all but i will never boo him

if i see him in the starting line up i simply cringe - i personally think we are better being down to 10men then having him in the side - if i see him waiting to come on from the bench i cringe also ..basically i cant stand him on the pitch for us , and sooner the better we get rid ..all he does is point and try telling players what to do - how about you go and learn how to play football .

For me the clincher with the lad is that when he's the best passing option the rest of the team take the next option instead. Its been like that for ages, if his team-mates don't have faith in him then why play him???

I just hope his "incident" on Saturday seals his fate and we move him on for whatever we can get for him? Lets just hope his new contract hasn't meant his wages are out of reach for potential suitors.

Who do you think is worse in the current squad?

Well! Sam reckons most of the midfielders are. Must be that Prozone thingy?

Admit it Den, you're addicted to this thread like the rest of us!

Anyone on the sick table that week. Which means that half the time he's better than Grella and Dunn. <_<

On a more serious note, I meant the PL as a whole, not merely the Rovers.

Seriously this was always going to happen. He is nowhere near being premiership standard and he's not helping N'Zonzi's development one bit. I know it, the crowd knows it and I'm damned sure his team mates know it.

I've cursed and despaired regularly but I've never booed him cos his problem is lack of ability not work rate or enthusiasm but it was only a matter of time before ever more people in the crowd would turn on him. It's the nature of the beast and he has gone past the point of no return I believe.

It's not his fault any longer, it's the manager's. To pick him and keep better players on the bench beggars belief. SA must have a reason but I'm damned if I can understand it.

Here here Theno.

Its the reason he needs to leave really - one to get his own confidence and career back on track and to stop him from becoming the scapegoat for everything that goes wrong.

He has served us as best as he could and has served a purpose (arguably) but his lack of ability is now causing problems to himself and issues that should not happen - as witnessed on Saturday.

The booing of players is out of order in my book anyway as it is with others - for Keith though its so ill apportioned its becoming a nauseating addiction for many.

 First time I have ever voted a post up, well said and a very fair assessment, agree 100% and then some.

Over a third of fans on here think we should keep him! Absolutely effin barmy! Can't head, can't tackle, can't shoot, can't dribble and above all can't pass! Is there anything left that he can do? Point?

Don't agree with booing him but please Sam put him and us out of misery! Its cruel to play him so get rid.

You can only sell if you have got a buyer...

I think the only thing for us is that Ince may find a new club and come in for him!!!
