I find Andrews an embarrassment quite frankly.

More than our fans? Wow, I've never found anything at Rovers more embarassing than the boo boys on Wednesday. I can't wait until next time we're on Sky and we've got millions of neutrals asking why all our subsitutions get booed and a player gets booed whenever he touches the ball. Oh, its cause at Rovers the fans think they should manage the team, they can be a bit absurd like that.

Spot on Blue and White. Regardless of Andrews' ability, any player turning out for Rovers should never, ever be booed.

Perhaps if KA is picked to start in the next Ewood game, we true Rovers fans should smack the boo boys in the mouth the moment they boo him just for being picked!!! .......... and strip them to the waist to reveal their true claret and blue colours and send them packing back to Turf Moor.

Only traitors to Blackburn Rovers boo players in the Rovers' team.

You can tell I'm angry, can't you :angry2::angry2:

No one player in a Rovers shirt desreves to be bood, however, people who defend him are unable to POINT to the abilities he is supposed to have.

Different fans have different views. Its about time some on here accepted that.

I have been going to Ewood 38 yrs and more. It is my opinion that I have never seen a more poorer player wear our colours. Now I love my club like many others but despite some saying whoever wears the shirts we get behind them with Andrews I make an exception.

He is simply an embarrassment to the club/team I love.

The only thing he brings is mayhem to our own team and we more often lose with him in the team because it means we are playing effectively with 10 men.

I support my team but I cannot support the constant inane playing of Andrews, he simply is nowhere near good enough to be a Premiership player.

Watching QPR v Reading and there are 4 midfielders on show who are miles better. That sort of emphasises his shortcomings.

So that is your only support, he got picked so must be OK?

I asked you in all honesty to point out his abilities, please tell me and others, that is all I ask, I will if you point out correctly his abilities with regard to tackling, heading, vision, pace, positional sense etc, return my badges to the FA as I would not deserve them!

I'm will try once again: I an NOT defending him - I too think he's cack. But why can't all your badges answer the bloody question of why other managers, some with more and bigger, shinier badges, have picked him at this level so often?

he's good at pointing ironically, he'd get 20 out of 20 for pointing on Championship Manager.

I really cant answer that, I only ask what his suitors see in his game, it baffles me, listen, I have had young lads, many gone to the states on soccer scholorships, played for decent sides over there and done well in the company of ex Pros from the UK, they were decent players and their general ability was far better than Andrews, for my own notebook, I am asking why, so that these lads who fall by the wayside can be given the 'thing' that these people see in Andrews.

Have you ever seen a lad released from a pro club as a teenager?, I was one and I know many, many others, its devastating, heartbreaking and when you see the kind of quality he brings to the side a hell of a lot of resentment too, it cant be helped.

I am sure you have at times been overlooked in your job and someone inferior has got promotion, resentment creeps in, on Wednesday I was driving to Ewood, late, as I hadnt finished work as early as planned, heard the teams and turned the car round and came home, I cant watch the lad play, honestly, I really stert to tremble, something I cant help as I know I could have been far better than he is.

I ask so many people, including ex Rovers players and they can only say, the manager picks the team, so he does, it doesnt help though.

I can see what you are saying, but it isn't limited to Andrews. There's so many players out there just as rubbish who you watch and just think how did he ever become a professional? We've had a few others in the past ourselves.

But that is the way it goes - it has happened for as long coaches/scouts etc have been finding young players - and yes I know what happens when kids get told they're being let go from a club. As bad as it makes you feel though it isn't Andrew's fault that someone thought he was good enough, but someone else didn't think you/others were good enough.

Actually cn, you are probably correct, I can tell you understand and probably one yourself or a close family member was released from a pro club, a good response actually, still cant come to terms with it though, despite coaching lads myself, probably resentment is they key word,

thanks for the reply, the most sensible one I have had.

His stats are always very good. Usually the best from our midfield players.

So it's jealousy?

I see you point but that's what it boils down to? That's a bit petty in my opinion.

It sends him into a fit of jealous rage.

Give him a break.

Thanks, but resentment is not the same as Jealousy.

Resentment is the experience of a negative emotion (anger or hatred, for instance) felt as a result of a real or imagined wrong done. Etymologically, the word originates from French "ressentir", re-, intensive prefix, and sentir "to feel"; from the Latin "sentire". The English word has become synonymous with anger, spite, and bitterness.

Sam picked Andrews to start over 40 times so he must be a bit slow on the uptake then

I don't think there's one fan who sees him as being part of the team going forwards, but he's started 52 games for us and come on as sub 20 odd times. That's a lot for someone universally seen as being complete cack.

I don't think Sam had any choice with the poor squad bequeathed by Ince and the refusal of the Walkers to spend money on new players. Andrews filled a shirt for a while but he rarely featured once Sam shunted him out of the team. I hope Kean saw enough on Wednesday not to pick him again.

I found the booing of Andrews rather excessive on Wednesday night, he isn't good enough but booing when he receives the ball isn't going to help him or the team. Secondly Jones and Dunn were equally as poor on the night imo yet hardly anyone said a dicky bird about them.

If you're going to boo one player for playing badly, surely you should do the same for everyone else. Not that I particularly condone it in the first place that is.

I agree with everything you said - he is AS POOR as you say. I can also tell you that of the 3 lads who sit behind me, my missus, 2 other lads on my row, and the bloke infront of me (BASICALLY the people I talk to at Ewood more often) they all feel exactly the same way.

You can whinge as much as you like ... But those of us who know what they are talking about will have seen how the Spurs mid-fiield was thwarted time and again from implementing the free flowing mid -field play that they like to be associated with. Keith was as instrumental as anybody in implementing that.

That's possibly the most condescending post I've seen on any thread.

Those of us who know what we're talking about saw how the Rovers midfield was thwarted time and again from implementing the free flowing mid-field play that we are trying to be associated with. Keith was as instrumental as anybody in implementing that.

Touche!

Even if everything 1864 said and Hughesy agrees was or is true it doesn't warrant the booing.

I can't get my head around how someone can claim to be a rovers fan yet boo a player on the pitch before he puts a foot wrong it's absurd.

Rationialise it all you like. It's still because of something that he has that you think you should have instead. Jealousy.

Keith the Leprechaun – A modern Fairytale.

(Or “How I Conned 4 Managers and became a Multi-Millionaire”)

It’s not easy being a leprechaun, you’re expected to create mischief wherever you go. As a young professional footballer this landed me in all sorts of strife. I certainly caused plenty of havoc but my inexperience ensured that I was the main one to suffer.

But I eventually got the hang of it. It was Paul Ince……..he couldn’t resist the blarney and with a light sprinkling of fairy dust he was mine. It worked so well that he made me team captain. I played a few blinders , won the league single-handedly and got myself voted the best player in league 2 at the Football League awards. The result was as planned – Paul got his big promotion to the Premier League. Now I could really start to shake the foundations. It wasn’t long before Paul was beating down my door, begging me to join him at Blackburn.

It started straight away. I played cack from the moment I arrived. The more outraged the fans became, the more I loved it and the more Paul picked me. I became more ambitious and flicked a bit of the wonderful dust in Trappatoni’s direction. Although every Rovers fan could see that I was totally useless, I became a regular international player. This has got to be the best bit of mischief yet. I even managed to stuff up Ireland’s World Cup campaign – I blew sand into the linesman’s eyes as Henry palmed the ball to Gallas and the rest is history. Irish fans rent their clothes and wept and a wave of Francophobia swept the globe. I was laughing so much that tears ran down my cheeks. Of course, I had to pretend to be as upset as the rest so that no one noticed – what an actor!

My performances at Ewood continued to slide further into the abyss and Rovers dropped nicely into the relegation zone. Poor Paul was sacked heh heh! But – now here’s the best bit – guess who they replaced him with? Big Fat Sam – the king of “hoofball” and hated former manager of arch rivals Bolton. You couldn’t make this up! Long serving fans like Waggy vowed never to grace Ewood again and resorted to watching matches on dodgy satellite links in the pub. Sam was more of a challenge though – it took two and half bags of fairy dust to cover him completely. Never mind, he was soon under my spell – even made me captain once.

Some, like Hughesy, looked on the bright side “Sam will soon sort Julie out – he’s got Prozone ”

Now here’s what most players don’t realise about Prozone – you get triple points for taking on extra responsibility during a match. So……………I just run around as much as I can and point out where every teammate should be standing. I don’t do this scientifically you understand; anywhere will do just so long as you look important. Works a treat and I get picked every week. Soon JW was chewing the fat with me regularly and I easily persuaded him that I was the key player in the team and that he should triple my wages. I will miss him.

It was time to stir the pot again so I decided to really wind up the fans. I went on to the BRFCS messageboard and called myself Jonnolad. Oh what fun I had. My logic was irrefutable…..how can Andrews be crap if every manager keeps picking him? He even plays for his country for God’s sake!

Well you should have heard them howl: den, jim, and my favourite 1864. I honestly thought I’d give him a heart attack. These guys were all dead on the money……….I loved it.

And now we have Venky World. I haven’t bothered to make much mischief yet……..the Indian leprechauns are having a go first. I don’t think they’ve done too badly so far. As for me? Well I’m back in the team and pointing my teammates to disaster. Played 2, lost 2 – not bad huh?

Stay tuned for the next chapter.
