G Somerset Rover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 What annoyed me most about Samba's 'challenge' is that Agbonlahor is an erratic finisher at best. It was nowhere near certain that hed score. So why make an effing challenge like you that tool? We may have an ever so slight chance had this just been 90 minutes but there is no way we can score and hold them off for 120. Well done Samba.
Hasta Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Oh well. It shows what might have happened if we had attacked them in the first place. Might as well get beat 6-2 now than go out defending a draw.
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Ah well you can't beat 12. Ref's handed them two goals and a man advantage on a silver platter. First was a foul on Nelsen, second Samba wins the ball. Even the refs love that little Irish prick is seems. Sam got his tactics spot on - Pedersen's lack of pace isn't an issue in the middle of the park and Olssen was causing that crap right back all sorts of problems. Nevermind eh. Samba didn't touch the ball at all!! Pedersen's lack of pace isn't an issue - but his complete unwillingness to tackle anyone is.
Exiled_Rover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 The majority of the Villa side are pricks, along with the manager and the arrogant fans. I despise the club.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Did Ashley Young just tap Dunny's belly there when they were chanting You Fat B*stard? Ah well, we have the league to look forward too :s
Mr. E Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I feel like I've just been in a heavy car accident.
BuckyRover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 If we play like we did at the start for the remainder of the season. Sam would be regarded as a hero.
Sysagent Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 It's not over yet lads, as mentioned we have beaten better teams with ten men before (remember Arsenal?) I think we can still scrap a win from this, I really do.
Miker Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Let's try and stay positive, it's not dead certain we've lost this now. We always capitulate like this... it was like this against Chelsea as well. We can still nick a goal here.
ABBEY Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 If we play like we did at the start for the remainder of the season. Sam would be regarded as a hero. SUPURB START AND SWITCHED OFF
Backroom Tom Posted January 20, 2010 Backroom Posted January 20, 2010 OMG the pundits are on our side, saying we were by far the better team till the ref gave them a goal The cocky villa fans wont agree though no doubt
Tango Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Excellent performance for half an hour, blatant foul on Nelsen for their goal. Then sat too deep and didn't hold possession whatsoever, the inevitable happened when they scored - not much Samba could do from that position but he shouldn't have been between the two centre-backs in the first place. We can definitely score again, whether we can stop Villa might be a different matter.
Rovermatt Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Villa hardly broke sweat getting back into this. Dear oh dear.
LeChuck Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 second Samba wins the ball. :D :D You're priceless.
Bobby G Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Proud so proud. Brilliant tactical set up by Sam. But defensively what did we do. Suicide. A half of two halves. We were brilliant in the first 26 minutes. If we can play like this, why dont we do it more often. Samba, why oh why did you tackle? You never do that. But Chimbonda was next to him, why did the ref send him off? So proud but so sad...
PAFELL Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Villa hardly broke sweat getting back into this. Dear oh dear. People on here are mad. Rovers are now in the same position as at the start of the match - 10 down. If they score in the second half to make it 32 to rovers and they hold on it is extra time. Ok Rovers would need to hold on during extra time or nick another goal and go through on the away goals. THIS MATCH IS NOT OVER YET.
gaz1979 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Just watched the replay of samba's tackle and he definatly got the ball
Amo Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 It didn't help that we refused to keep hold of the ball. We were back to hoofing it from one end to the other, and I can't stand waiting five minutes for Pedersen to take his fairy throw-ins. It's so frustrating that we had Villa by the balls but let them back into the game.
BRFC1995 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 bad omen to start with having that pr1ck jonathan pearce commentating, as big a f$ckwit as sidwidell, watching in mute with radio 5 on. David Pleat has a lot of positives about us just not defensively.

Bobby G Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Its going to be too difficult with 10 men, especially with the high tempo pressing we did in the first half. People who criticize us for "sitting back" after going up 2 goals. For Gods sake there was only 4 minutes between the goal scored and conceded. Its not even a phase of the game, so it you cant criticize it cause we cant keep it up non-stop.
LeChuck Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 THIS MATCH IS NOT OVER YET. It's not, but another goal and it is. We have to defend with our lives and hope we can get a set piece goal from somewhere. Prepare for a very ugly second half, courtesy if Chris (Please don't use that word again)HEAD Samba.
