BuckyRover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I don't think he told them to sit back. It's natural instinct. We can build on this. We need to beat Wigan though.

MarkBRFC71 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Ah obvious was it that HE told them. You must be on the other end of that stupid mic thing he uses! Well who else told them, Barack we don't like that word, please don't use it Obama?
Fraserkirky Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 reid looks good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kalinic is the future. If Dunn was a horse..... Luck, the ref and samba are to blame for this, we have been the better team. Hate villa
accyrover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 It all turned on Villa's first goal which was clearly a foul on Nelson. Accyrover
RovertheHill Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 There was a definite change right after the second goal, we were sitting deeper and staying back - granted it was only a few minutes before we conceded BTW, great goal Olsson! I'm not arguing that. But teams naturally sit back at times like that. My question is how does anyone on here know that Sam instructed them to do it? Because apparently it wasn't Barack Obama it must have been Same
joey_big_nose Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Well I don't actually blame Sam much. He did really well early on. Referee far more to blame. Props to Sam. Massive plus is Olsson. Looks every inch a premiership winger. Pedersen in the middle worked well too.
Heinz Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Lol we need to score 3 to get added time... Hmzzz... One can hope

ABBEY Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Are you mad? It all went t*ts up when our clueless manager told them to sit back and DEFEND!! bob on.
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Dont be a complete prat. There was only 4 minutes between our 2nd and there goal. There was no significant difference between how we were playing. Whilst I am no longer an Allardyce fan, you are obviously just wanting to blame him for the first half collapse. What about after they scored the first? We deffo sat back then - you complete prat. Not entirely his fault for the collapse but it didn't help.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Turned the tv off and left the room before i throw it out of the window. Two decisions that changed the game: 1. The Agonblawhore foul on Nelsen, the ref (Please don't use that word again) up gave them the goal which got their confidence back and fired them up. Not the first time i have seen that cheating @#/? do that, same goes for Young. 2. The Samba sending off and penalty. Villa who became all fired up after the gift the ref gave them, put pressure on us and Samba ###### up. After that stupid decision we should have calmed down and used a level head, instead we fell to pieces. Oh and great to see our only creative player pick up an injury going into a vital run of premier league fixtures.
promoted2001 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I have to say Olsson has been outstanding, he should be on the left wing from the start against Wigan along with Kalinic. As for defence I'm starting to think it doesn't matter who we play there
G Somerset Rover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Two massive pluses to come out of this so far for me are Olsson and Kalinic. If Kalinic has looked this good up front alone think how many chances he would get/create with another front man.
Amo Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 People always need scapegoats. The referee, the opposition. I'd understand if Villa nicked this thanks to a refereeing howler - but they didn't! Nelsen was fouled, sure. But what about the poor defending that let Agbonlawhore in? What about Samba sending us down to 10 men and giving us an uphill struggle?
Ninjathunder Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 We have taken some beatings this year but this one being on the BBC in front of millions is a complete disaster and total humiliation for us. I'm turning the game off now. Sam is back on borrowed time. We've had far worse beatings. Don't be so over dramatic.
Miker Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 We were hardly sitting deeper. I'm sorry, but if a striker can get behind two defenders then they're not sitting deep enough or not executing an offside trap well enough. I'm not sure how their first goal was to blame for sitting deeper. Fact is, the players dropped their game after going 2-0 up, as they had it too easy up til then. All we can ask for now is maybe another goal to get it more respectable at 5-4.

Backroom Tom Posted January 20, 2010 Backroom Posted January 20, 2010 WTF we dont play for a week why take kalinic off?
BRFC1995 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 how are people finding positives in this shambles, the ease with which we concede is frightening, 20 mins left with 10 men there is a strong possibility of a record defeat, Sam out!
G Somerset Rover Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Kalinic off - he's ran his socks off. Bit of a shame he didn't have a chance for his hat-rick though.

I have to say i'm not worried about Dunn going off he looks nothing like he did pre injury
