Ben-2000 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 They have a game at Darwen on Tuesday 28th September... might nip and see that.

cn174 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Clare is the one to ask. Clare hasnt been yet this season but 10 goals in 4 games suggests he's pretty good. Hopefully they can keep hold of him. This saturday is 'support non league day'. There's no Rovers because of internationals. Most non league teams will be doing deals to give discounted entry for fans of league team. If you've never been down to chorley, clitheroe, lancaster etc. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.
Shabani Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I went to see Clitheroe when Rovers weren't playing a few years ago Goal after 15 seconds, chances galore and a fight resulting in 2 red cards Lovely stuff
roversmum Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I was planning to pop along to Chorley FC yesterday and then realised our Reserves were playing and went to Leigh. Popped in at Chorley Cricket Ground on the way back, they were trouncing Darwen's 'B' team (though I understand Darwen won the away match against the 'A' Team!). Great fun, lots of families there with picnics, a lovely afternoon at a beautiful ground. There's a cup match against St Anne's there on Sunday next, with a Barbeque, would recommend anyone to pop along, take the kids they'll love it (not necessarily the cricket, but the family atmosphere)!

Unfortunately Chorley don't play this weekend I went to the first game, that Jack Dorney looked the worst Chorley player in the first half then he scored a pen right on half time and didn't look back after really.
Ozz Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Won again last night, beat Prescott Cables 5-2 at Victory Park. Played 4-won 4-goals scored 21. Flitty appears to be having some positive effect on Chorley.
mjs Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I went along last night. They played some really quick, quality football, and created chances for fun. It could quite easily have been double figures. Well worth a watch. Pity no Jansen though.
hollowsr Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I was also there last night, great first half but just settled for it after the 5th in the second half. Saw quite a few Rovers fans there last night
gumboots Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I went along last night. They played some really quick, quality football, and created chances for fun. It could quite easily have been double figures. Well worth a watch. Pity no Jansen though. He was in London in the IMG studios today working on their new premier league channel. Second time he's been in, I think.

gumboots Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I know he's been injured recently but he was doing coaching duties throughout Not denying that but he was definitely at IMG because my daughter works there and told me about it. It's only a one day thing.

Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Full time Chorley 0-0 AFC Fylde Is the new Premier League channel going to be on Sky? or for people in this country?
gumboots Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Full time Chorley 0-0 AFC Fylde Is the new Premier League channel going to be on Sky? or for people in this country? No, IMG are doing the channel for sale and broadcast abroad. That's the new deal the prem signed. It's a 24 hour channel but seems at the moment to be middle east and far east markets. Don't know if Europe could take it. It's been on air since the start of the season. Allardyce has been on a couple of times and Jansen too. People like Andy Townsend also do it as does Mark Pougatch (sp?) who works for the BBC. If anyone sees it in some far flung place then those montages will probably be my daughter's handiwork
Claytons Left Boot Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Darwen were playing Chorley tonight in a cup game. Matty may well have been rested but with the Flitcroft connection as well, it was worth a visit to my home town club. Unfortunately, one of the floodlights was out and an electrician couldn't get it up and running - the game was called off. A nightmare for Darwen as, by their terms, it would have been an excellent crowd. There looked to be a few on and we three were 20 back at the turnstiles waiting to get in. Never mind, I will be there when the game is rescheduled and it would be nice for the LT to run a big feature on the game to perhaps attract a few Rovers fans down.

Was going to go myself until my Sky box packed up and I spent ages on the phone trying to sort it! Think it's rescheduled for next Tuesday (5th)?
Ozz Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 The tie is expected to be restaged at the Anchor Ground next Tuesday with Chorleys league game with Mossley making way, though as of this article being published this hasn't been confirmed. Please check this site soon for confirmation. Confirmed Tuesday 5th now.
Ozz Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Darwens continuing floodlight issues meant that it was switched to Chorley and played last night. Darwen took the lead, and went in one up at half time. But Chorley ran out 3-1 winners in the end, in front of 423 fans-who where as vocal as I can recall in recent years.
wilyrover Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I went to the match. Had my season ticket with me and got in for £3.50. Not a bad game either. Even the bar at half time was reasonably priced. Enjoyable night out.
Mike Graham Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 1,150 on for the Chorley home match on saturday gone....any more games like this and they will be getting more than PNE
Ozz Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 A very eventful game at Chorley last night saw them win 2-1 after being 0-1 down at 90 minutes. And Matt Jansen was sent off for an attempted head butt, must be his first Red card? Keeper stretchered off, 7 mins injury time, Matt Sent Off ...

And Matt Jansen was sent off for an attempted head butt, must be his first Red card? Keeper stretchered off, 7 mins injury time, Matt Sent Off ... Sounds like a cracking finish to the game. Jansen was sent off at Leigh I'm pretty sure for violent conduct. I think people try to get at him more at that level and he has snapped a couple of times.
goldenballs Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 My brother was at that game. Amazing end. According to him it felt like a 'few thousand' were in there not just one! Happy days for then and MJ (notice how I gloss over the red card.... apparently it was nailed on!) A very eventful game at Chorley last night saw them win 2-1 after being 0-1 down at 90 minutes.
