mellison24 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I was quite horrified to come across this and hope he gets well. He is a cracking player and i believe he was a potential target for us last summer?

Hi Mack Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Its being reported that doctors have failed to remove the bullet from his head after surgery Cabanas has died it is now being reported......RIP Tragic. (this was reported on Goal.com but has now been removed watch this space)
Bobby G Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I feel sickened. A great player. I feel for his family and friends. A life cut short this way on the eve of possibly the biggest moment of his career at his peak. I hope its not true but if they havent removed the bullet then I dont know how much hope there is. Im shocked that they were saying he was communicating properly before the surgery.
Backroom Tom Posted January 25, 2010 Backroom Posted January 25, 2010 Damn I saw this earlier and hoped against hope he'd make it RIP, far too young
mellison24 Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 Such a great shame. What a player as well. 29 is no age at all. Bless his family and may he RIP x

Hi Mack Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 It's in the Guardian and the Sun. Hope they get the people who did this, apparently it was an unprovoked attack while he was with his wife outside a bar!
Hughesy Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Critical according to reports - hopefully he pulls through.

DeadlyDirk Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 We certainly live in a crazy world, hope he recovers and justice is served.
Iceman Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 This is so sad. I remember the guy that was shot, after scoring an own goal at the World Cup in either 1990 or 1994. I cant get to his name right now, but was realy tragic.
Backroom Tom Posted January 27, 2010 Backroom Posted January 27, 2010 Think that was the Columbian, Escobar
RoyRover Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 He's a fantastic player and was in line to play at the World Cup for Paraguay. This is a dreadful story and further points toward what a dangerous, lawless place Mexico City is. I hope he gets well soon.
