jonv Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Can't see Di Santo generating the opportunity in the first place imo
Dan Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 If we got a penalty I wouldn't even cheer because I can 100% know we'll let Roberts take it :-(
Backroom Tom Posted January 30, 2010 Backroom Posted January 30, 2010 So i take it you don't class McCarthy as a Premiership striker if its based on goals this season?
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 DiSanto is also known for 1-1 mishaps this season though. he gets the benefit of the doubt due to foreign name and youth. Roberts is known for his 1-on-1 mishaps for the last 3 years though, he gets the benefit of the doubt for what exactly? He's the only striker you would actually BACK to miss a one-on-one!
deftangel Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Yes Di Santo wouldn't have made the chance. We know this. We also already knew that Roberts wouldn't finish it. It should therefore be obvious to the expert that playing either or up front on his own is likely to lead to NO GOALS. We've half a season of evidence for Di Santo and a fews years worth for Roberts to come to this conclusion.
Dan Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Great pass by Andrews(!!) and great play by Gamst!
BPF Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 So i take it you don't class McCarthy as a Premiership striker if its based on goals this season? Of course you have to factor in minutes played into the ratio. Another important consideration is past performances. Di Santo has few very goals at all even for his age. His goal for Rovers, I believe he knew very little about.
budha Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 And now that Everton takes the lead against Wigan, every other game is going the way we'd like. Fulham, Wigan and Bolton losing, Hull and Wolves drawing.
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Based on goals scored in the Premiership this season I don't really class Di Santo as a Premiership Striker Nonsense. He's good enough for Chelsea but not a Premiership striker? Di Santo is plainly a better player than Roberts, who would just about be a good Championship striker.
BPF Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 Nonsense. He's good enough for Chelsea but not a Premiership striker? Di Santo is plainly a better player than Roberts, who would just about be a good Championship striker. Good enough for Chelsea? I'm sorry I didn't realise he was a regular first teamer for them...
Dan Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 We've actually looked pretty threatening on set pieces today. Which is good, though it makes me laugh when EVERY commentator says stuff like "Rovers will always be dangerous from set pieces" Not when Gamst mkII was involved, Gamst mkIII is looking pretty decent at them now. Though the long throws still haven't looked like working, ever.
dopper69 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Nonsense. He's good enough for Chelsea but not a Premiership striker? Di Santo is plainly a better player than Roberts, who would just about be a good Championship striker. He is not good enough for Chelsea, hence him being here
Backroom Tom Posted January 30, 2010 Backroom Posted January 30, 2010 Come on ref blow for full time, if everything stayed the same it would make a very good week for us
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Good enough for Chelsea? I'm sorry I didn't realise he was a regular first teamer for them... Good enough to be on their books. Don't see them knocking our door down to add Roberts to their ranks?
hollowsr Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Is that 4 minutes? Where on earth from?! Subs make up 2 and half mins
BPF Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 Good enough to be on their books. Don't see them knocking our door down to add Roberts to their ranks? I think you'll find a large majority of Chelsea fans hoping that he stays with us this Summer...
MarkBRFC71 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I think you'll find a large majority of Chelsea fans hoping that he stays with us this Summer... Source? Two points dropped against West Ham for the second time this season ....
Backroom Tom Posted January 30, 2010 Backroom Posted January 30, 2010 FT a very good away point It goes both ways, not losing was a lot more important than winning today 8 points outside the drop zone as it stands
hollowsr Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Get in great result for us!! Don't care what people say about it, it's a good point. Still think we looked the most likely to score and we came the closest
