Just to clarify, Wayne Bridge wasn't even going out with her at the time. Storm in a teacup (yet again).

At least it provided a good opportunity for some hand wringing.

I'm sure Terry's wife will agree with you.

What the heck has Terry's wife got to do with anything? What do you know about their relationship? She might have cheated on him, you don't anything about her or her attitude. They have been together for about 16 years. Not many relationships last from childhood these days. Adultery is never a good thing but I would be disgusted if he was removed from his position of captain for having an affair.

Work and private lives should remain separate. I would be surprised if Capello felt differently.

He's been a bit of an idiot but I know plenty of people who are pretty poor at relationships, and this is not a modern phenomena.

Footballers can do what they want.....thought everybody knew that?

John Terry is only the latest in a long long line of footballers who have affairs & get caught out. It almost comes with the job (& the money) Women are attracted to it like moths to bright lights. I don`t feel sorry for any of them. They have a great lavish lifestyle, but have to put up with the next 'cute thing' coming on the scene.

Didn`t Rovers have a thing with Gary Flitcroft a few years back? I vaguely remember something going on.

There`s stuff like this going on at Ewood now. I`ve overheard wannabe wags talking about their 'player conquests' & 'who`s doing who' & 'who`s wife doesn`t know what'.

It goes on all the time. Money breeds this kind of behavior.......& we, the paying public are financing it.

So you can sh1t on your wife but you cannot sh1t on your mate!!!

I like your style smoss. ^_^

That's not actually what I believe. Its more about boundaries, where a person will or will not cross certain lines.

Terry has repeatedly cheated on his wife. He is adulterous scum. But he has NOT betrayed the trust of his teammates. His personal issues are adversely effecting his marriage but should not be effecting his team, if I understand how things happened (which isn't a guarantee from the news reports).

Here is an exchange (by memory only) from a Clint Eastwood movie called Bronco Billy:

Reporter: Why were you in prison?

Bronco Billy (Clint Eastwood): I shot my wife.

Reporter (horrified): Why?

BB: I caught her in bed with my best friend.

Reporter (alternating between repulsed and sympathetic): What did you do to your best friend?

BB (looking confused): Nothing. He was my best friend.

Thought you'd said enough.

It was actually reported in the paper today that they'd already split. But the two women are apparently best mates.

But still, you know best.

ohh now its the ladies who are best mates..

my point all along, was not to get caughtm up, in the ferocious bandwagon of stupidity and taking newspapers as gospel.

i knew better then you eh bryan

You said that it was a storm in a tea cup, I merely said that Terry's wife would disagree with you. I try to work with the facts rather than cast doubts on someones character.

Terry is the England captain and as such his behaviour on and off the pitch will be under intense scrutiny, he has been selling himself off to the highest bidder for a while now, after this incident he should be stripped of his captaincy.

If I recall correctly Hoddle was hounded out of the England job because of his private views which had nothing to do with football.

How should Capello deal with the matter when Bridge and Terry play together for England? What do you think it will do for morale? Could it be a case of players taking sides? Can you seperate private and personal lives now?

How do you know Terry's wife would disagree with me? Are you representing her? Maybe she is sick of him and will seek a divorce, maybe she won't. It's not for us to judge on their relationship.

What does his marriage have to do with you? Some women allow their husbands to behave like this. Wayne Bridge was NOT going out with her at the time. Would you not speak to your friend anymore if he went with your ex? You lose the moral high ground when the relationship ends.

I think Terry is more important to England than Wayne Bridge.

There's been nothing to say that they weren't mates, in any case, that isn't the crux (crotch?) of the matter.

In any case, you're exceptionally pleased with yourself, and for someone who said they'd finished with talking about this, you're rather tedious.

there's no badn-wagon of stupidity, his misdemeanours are well-documented and can seemingly lead to only one conclusion, that he's a nasty piece of work.

Bridge has issued the following:

"I have read the press reporting in the last two days. The reports deal with matters which are of a deeply personal and private nature.

"My primary concern is the welfare of my son. Therefore, I intend to make no comment whatsoever either now or in the future about these reports and ask that my privacy is respected."

you really are grasping at straws and its becoming quite desperate. First you shouted from the rooftop, that he shagged his BEST MATES girl and made a huge fuss about it, then you were proven wrong as hell and now its not important.. LMAO.. This is just like having a debate with a teenager, no logics and no consistency.

ahh im exceptionally pleased with myself, og dear oh dear, not only impersonating judge judy, but also dr phil.

for a man on a puritan crusade, you certainly dont have any problems ,with labelling others on the basis of nothing or newspaper articles.

In my book, hypocrits are the nasty ones bryan, and one of those, you definetly are. You blast terry for his actions, which are legal, but support a club with a criminal on the payroll. Again just like a teeanger, absolutely no consistency when asked about their opinion.

its all well and documented he has made some mistakes, just like every other person on this planet.

I think Terry is more important to England than Wayne Bridge.

I will go back to the original point that I was responding to, you said it was a "storm in a tea cup"- implying that it would have little imapct because when Terry slept with Bridge's wife they were separated, correct?

I said his wife would disagree- I dont know the woman but know that she has been with him for 16 years, know that she has child with Terry and know that the woman he slept with was a friend of hers- all facts, thus you can safely ascertain that this is not a trivial matter for her and will impact not only her but the mental state of Terry- you only had to witness him tonight to see that.

Separate point now- Terry's marriage has nothing to do with me but him being the Captain of my football club does. In a world cup year he has potentially disrupted the harmony of the team. Bridge is a England player and was best friends with Terry, surely even you can see that this may be problematic for the team and puts Capello, the FA and the team in a dilemma?

So no it is not a "storm in a tea cup"

At least someone in this mess is conducting themselves with some amount of class.

That's exactly what I thought when I read the statement ........... maybe Wayne Bridge is a better role model for those who feel the need for such things?

I think so. That comment plus Bridge's on the record fanaticism about Star Wars equals a generally good guy, in my opinion.

I know it's not exactly "facts", but since there are so many different versions of this going around, this article fills in the gaps.

Alright, Terry is back to absolute scum.
