T J Hooker Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 very good natural goal scorer when he gets the support(which he wasn't really given here for whatever reasons) Quote
chaddyrovers Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Very good striker. Had 5 pounds bet on him at 9/1. So very happy Edited May 27, 2015 by chaddyrovers 1 Quote
mustard Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 very good natural goal scorer when he gets the support(which he wasn't really given here for whatever reasons) Agreed. Nice goal, good flick and move to then finish the cross with a strong header. Quote
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Wasn't suited to the lone striker role. Was someone who relied on link-up play with a partner. Wasn't a world beater obviously but I think he wasn't given the proper opportunity to showcase his ability. We were never going to play two up top though and therefore it was a stupid purchase. Quote

Playing as lone striker in a 4-5-1 tonight. Appears to be working. Quote
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 That was my impression at the time. Think him and M Diouf played up top together against West Brom in a 3-1 away win in K**n's first victory. Scored 2 then got sent off and never played again if I recall. I think the two of them played up top together anyway. Quote

Audax Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Norway drawing Germany in the women's, Norway won one woman's world cup, they are respectable. As if some really care, I do. Quote
bazza Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Norway drawing Germany in the women's, Norway won one woman's world cup, they are respectable. As if some really care, I do. I watched Norway v Germany at Ewood Park some years ago. Brilliant game. Germany won, deservedly so. They had a cracking midfielder who eventually went off injured. That lovely game lives on in my memory. 1 Quote
Audax Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Ivory Coast just missed a real sitter versus Thailand, this is actually a fairly good game. The women's game is gathering some momentum. I watched as much as I could have the match yesterday. I know, many people don't get into it. Header Thailand, pretty sharp. The Thai gal gave a clinic on it.... replay technology too, Thais lead at half time 2-1. China Netherlands 0 0 at the 90th plus. Oh, China got a goal after the 90th, I don't have it live but: http://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2015/06/12/world/womens-world-cup/china-pr/netherlands/1973545/?ICID=HP_MS_01_01 China 1 0 Netherlands, still going on...... China has at least 5 straight losses, so they are in a slump definitely, maybe they played hard friendlies. China wins. 28 shots for China, 7 for Netherlands, shots on goal, 11 for China, 7 for Netherlands. Edited June 11, 2015 by Audax Quote

Rover_Shaun Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I saw some of Germany 10 - 0 Ivory coast and was astonished at the quality on show even from Germany. And not in a good way. Quote
Audax Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Wales 1 0 Belgium, impressive. Slovenia England, tomorrow. Quote
Audax Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 KIRBY scored for England, nice touch, through traffic, England up on Mexico 1-0, about 15 minutes. Mexico, like their men's team, has a good goalkeeper. Quote
Stuart Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 MLS: I'm just watching New York City (losing at the mo to Montreal Impact). They remind me a lot of Manchester City... ...when they were in League One. Only not as good. Quote
Audax Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) I certainly am no Barcelona fan, I hope they are not being sold to interests from Qatar, if they have not already been. Joan Laporta has reiterated that he will not give up his bid to reclaim control of Barcelona, stating that he cannot stand by and allow the club to be "sold to Qatar". http://www.albawaba.com/sport/laporta-barcelona-has-been-sold-qatar-725558 I was under the impression at one point, that Italian and Spanish clubs generally did not sell out to foreigners. mustard Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 We should sign this lad up as a striker.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33873951 Imagine Bowyer was in charge of ADO. That keeper would have been banned from going up, would have been fined for defying orders and dropped for the next game. Quote
Amo Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Nikola Kalinic signing for Fiorentina. Good luck to him. A good striker who was ill-suited to Allardyce's kick and rush tactics. Quote
