Amazing to see the contrast after the West Ham game and now. Some supporters are so eager to get on Sam's back its unreal. Fickle would be an understatement. We didnt play well and lost heavily. But we move on. Its the same team which beat Fulham and Wigan and can go into the game against Hull with a decent chance of winning.

Unfortunately yesterday's sh1te is the norm - the wins against Wigan and Fulham were the 'blip' and they owed more to good fortune than any managerial acumen. The West Ham game was two awful teams playing each other, hence the goalless draw.

But, as you say, we move on. We HAVE to win the next two games, because with the way the team is being "managed" at present I'm struggling to see where we will win again after that.

Oh, and I would rather see a fully-fit Grella in midfield than Pedersen every time.

Hangovers just take bloody ages to disappear nowadays.

I have to say what a tremnedous day out socially wise, football wise no brainer as I stated last night.

The worst crock of daz I have ever witnessed.

There were no tactics or gameplan for Rovers.

Having now got through motd and footie first I shudder at the thought of Wednesdays day of reckoning becuase my friends, that it what is looming.

Lose and Sam just has to go and for me, there is not a lot about who could do a job with Rovers apart from him !

Lose and Rovers are in deep deep trouble.

Lose and for me, its curtains. Even as bad as Pompy are, as Burnley can be Rovers are going to struggle away at those 2 clubs.

Bolton are not going to be a roll over either. So we have to take 6 points it is as simple as that.

The visit to the turd aside, I have now given up my away games for this season. I wont be travelling again (burnley aside) due to the fact that the football on show is non existant and noone seems to be putting in any effort in a Rovers shirt.

The di Santo for Andrews equation ? Its a simple explantion, it cannot ever be explained. Andrews use useless and it should have been Reid who came on. He is faster and more defensive, he can pass, tackle and head the ball. Granted, he cannot point very well, but hey , who cares ?

Hull and Bolton come to Ewood in positive mode. I just hope Sam sees fit to put out a team to win both games, not to roll over like a team full of pink leathered pansies.

Let's just say that I and thousands of other blokes are married to ones just like you - and they're never bloody wrong either. :P

:) I don't think I'm right or wrong, I just disagreed with someone who said the team selection was wrong. Before the game I was more than happy with the line-up.

I had a look at the comments on here pre-match and people had similar views,

"Most attacking formation we've picked in quite some time"

"If we don't win this game, will it be Sam's fault, our ours for demanding two strikers?"

"....its a fighting line up and no one would be to blame as its our best starting XI"

I don't see why everyone thinks I'm wrong because I said

"The fans have been crying out for two strikers and that's what we got. "

Some others comments during the game "2 strikers, and we still playing kick the ball up in the air"

"I made the point ages ago that because we're playing two strikers DOESN'T mean we're playing 4-4-2"

I didn't even mention about where the players were playing. I just meant the fans wanted Di Santo and Kalinic to play (I know we wanted them to play closer together I'm not disputing that) but in a way we got a line-up that we all wanted. I don't understand why people think I'm wrong, saying I'm implying this that and the other and saying the fans didn't get what they wanted when the quotes above clearly state no one had a bad word to say about the team selection before the game :(

I wouldn't worry RIML. From reading through your posts it would appear as though some posters have decided to be overly pedantic towards you due to gender? It is sad that even in 2010, any female input into football is met with hostility and instant rejection.

Many people would have seen the starting line up and felt hopeful towards two 'strikers' being in the starting eleven. There is no doubt that we didn't play 4 - 4 - 2 but you have never said that so I don't understand all these posts shooting you down?

So if I object to what RIML writes I'm a sexiest? Are you serious?

The argument is void anyway, if you looked up a strikers role is in the dictionary it would probaly mention scoring goals somewhere in there, none of ours do so it really doesnt matter where they play.

Abolish the offside rule so Sam can sit 2 on there goal line while we whack the ball up to them, at least it would clear up the point as to the position the STRIKERS are actually playing

No mate, my missus blows my trumpet.

Wasn't directing any of that to any specific member Majiball. However, on the whole there was an obvious undertone to all this. My post was merely to outline the over pedantic nature of the argument and that it seemed to be ongoing despite reaching somewhat of an end.

Also, keeping women out of football....

Keep blacks off our buses?

Don't let old people work?

Don't listen to cripples, what use is their opinion?

I was under the impression that bigotry was dying out. How naive.

Getting on your high horse a lot recently BPF? You had a go at someone for their use of the word 'gay' the other day, attempting to link it to their intelligence...now this half arsed attempt at accusing someone of sexism? You're usually a better poster than this nonsense.

I don't think the pedantry was coming from me. RIML refuses to back down, even though she's forced into logical contortions to maintain her position.

If you can't take a little light-hearted humour then you really must be a miserable sod.

Hello LeChuck! I don't want to give the impression that I'm getting on my high horse. The mere thought of me trying to get on a horse is too horrific to imagine.

The other day I objected to using the word gay as an adjective to describe something negative. I find it offensive to use a collective term for a group of people to describe a 'bad thing'. I can't see people getting away with using 'That film was so African American' in the near future. When I suggested to the poster that he should use a wider vocab, I was told to 'go get laid'. I thought my linking this to youth and / or low intelligence was apt.

Again, I wasn't accusing anyone specific of being sexist. If you read the previous posts there are several specific comments towards gender. My point was and still is that gender had no part in the debate. I was also making the point that the argument just seemed to be repeating and there was no real need for it to continue.

Again apologies if I have appeared to be acting 'above my station'. I tend to type in a formal manner and it can make me sound like an arse!

If I have misread the tone of this argument then again I can only apologise, it initially appeared to me that there was a certain amount of ganging up going on and I didn't really see the reason for it.

Not really my style, I wish I'd never got involved in the argument.

Likewise! Still I seem to have brought an end to the discussion. I certainly don't come on here to argue with fellow Rovers' fans. I get enough **** off other people as it is!!

We were playing one of the hardest teams to play away from home and yet there are fans who are somehow suggesting that something is terribly wrong.

I really don't know where you're coming from with that comment. One win and six points out of a possible fifty four from the last eighteen away Premiership games suggests there is something desperately wrong.

Whether it be purely the formation and tactics, or the players not being happy with those tactics, or possibly a combination of both.

Given that I was the one that responded most, I am one that gets tarred by your bullshit.

I always thought the whole point of this board was debate, apparently though its not allowed with women as obviously debating with them means I'm sexiest. <_<

If you want to accuse people of such crimes as sexism I suggest you be more specific. There a world of difference between supposed undertones and the reality of what you accuse me off.

Welcome to the wonderful of the PC brigade.

Well imo I'd have been in uproar if Grella when fit is not in. Of the 4 above there is only one midfielder of quality.

Well going into Saturday, Pedersen was on form and Di Santo hadnt had a run in the side. I personally was more then happy with the lineup.

But these are the same tactics which won us the games against Fulham and Wigan and saw us almost beat West Ham away from home. Our away form is shocking, no doubt, but looking at the formation and tactics used on saturday i fail to see where Allardyce went wrong as most of us would have chosen the same team. And the formation was the same which had done us well in the 3 previous games.

Obviously in hindsight we can point out the flaws but if you picked any XI for Rovers right now i guarantee that i could pick 4/5 flaws in it. Im gutted that we lost, dont get me wrong, i just dont understand all this anger towards Allardyce when he picked a side which we were all happy with before the match and in a formation which had worked well in the past 3/4 games. That is why im standing up for him.

I was happy with the team that was picked and I didn't have much quarrel with the formation except Di Santo on the right wing seemed a bit strange. So what about the performance? We all know they can play better than that so why didn't they? Every away game is the same except at Bolton where we played really well, full of confidence and won at a canter. Why?

Maybe but neither of those are specialised central midfield players ... much less deep sitting defensive ones.

Bolton were awful that day and even scored a freak og for us.

I can't remember the game, due to the horror of the half-time incident. Whether or not this has been mentioned (I cba trawling through the pages) there was a brief return of the 'Owen Coyle shags P***s' chant. Contrary to my assumptions it was sang by men who were ALL older than 40. It was my first real away day against stoke and it'll take a while for me to go again. Horrible day. Our away fans are mad and stupid.
