Backroom Tom Posted February 6, 2010 Backroom Posted February 6, 2010 It was mentioned in the Stoke thread but I heard the same albeit only from the official board. Quote
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 True apparently, girlfriend is at the game. Hit in the head by a bin by all accounts. They had the defibrillator on him but to no avail (It's in the Stoke thread Abbey) Quote
Backroom Tom Posted February 6, 2010 Backroom Posted February 6, 2010 Was it said if the bin was thrown at him or just up in the air? Quote
ABBEY Posted February 6, 2010 Author Posted February 6, 2010 My neff said in the air and he headed it..like I said hearsay Quote
Backroom Tom Posted February 6, 2010 Backroom Posted February 6, 2010 Tragic but why throw a bin around in the first place? Seems an odd form of entertainment. Quote
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 You obviously haven't seen a large proportion of our away following of late then Quote

RibbleValleyRover Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) I hope its not true and its just rumours. Certainly puts today's game well into the background if its true that someone has tragically lost their life. I also hope that these rumours about the bin are also untrue. T4E Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 My neff said in the air and he headed it..like I said hearsay I heard the same from an mboard member at the game, via the police at the game. Absolute tragedy if true, what a senseless waste of life. Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) Rovers fans attack each other on coach coming back from Villa and now a supposed fatality at Stoke?.....WTF is going on? Edited February 6, 2010 by SIMON GARNERS 194 Quote
Blackpool_Rover Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Rovers fans attack each other on coach coming back from Villa and now a supposed fatality at Stoke?.....WTF is going on? Doesn't surprise me at all...i went to my first away game for a couple of years on boxing day and some of what i heard from rovers fans around me was disgusting. Absolute disgrace. Quote
MarkBRFC71 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Just been on Radio Lancs that there will be an announcement at 6? Quote
mrsjansen Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Just been on SSN saying that he is critically ill and a 30 year old man has been arrested Quote
Iceman Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) If true, thats so sad. Edited February 6, 2010 by Iceman Quote
Blackpool_Rover Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 critically ill..........this is absolutely disgusting. What the hell is happening to our club Quote
MarkBRFC71 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 A man critically ill in hospital, someone arrested. In the Rovers end so the assumption is it was one Rovers fan on another? Terrible. At least he's still with us .... Quote
CrazyIvan Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) I can honestly say I have never been so disgusted by fellow 'fans' before. I've never known a bunch of complete and utter morons following Rovers. I'll be picking my away games very carefully from now on and sitting at the back of a stand is a complete non-option. It gets populated by fans who drink beer in the stands, smoke, stand in the gangways and abuse other Rovers fans because they think it makes them look big. I watched one p'ssed up lad literally stand there punching the wall over and over just because Keith Andrews came on. Beer plays a big part in all of this and a tragedy like this is most likely all about p'ssed up fans having 'fun'. Some fun. A real tragedy for the family and I truly feel for them. A lot of true fans who have followed Rovers for years away from home have been openly saying they'll never go to away games again. All of this is a real shame when a little self-control might have stopped something like this happening. Edited February 6, 2010 by CrazyIvan 4 Quote
Guest Kamy100 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Hopefully the Fan pulls through. I have stopped going to away games this season, went to a few earlier this season but to be honest I got spooked by what some of our fans were getting upto, not just the racist chanting, it seems that quite a few fans have started going to away games, they get drunk and just end up causing trouble. The last away game I went to I experienced racist abuse, female fans having to put up with allsorts of comments and fighting between our own fans. Thoughts and prayers with the fan who is fighting for his/her life and with their family. Quote
MarkBRFC71 Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) Sadly, the increase in the number of braindead, moronic, neanderthal chavs fuelled by alcohol is symptomatic of society in general .... Edited February 6, 2010 by MarkBRFC71 1 Quote

There needs to be more effort, using cctv to find these trouble makers and banning them. They aren't welcome and there were probably a few real rovers fans who couldn't get a ticket. What is going on Quote
Backroom DE. Posted February 6, 2010 Backroom Posted February 6, 2010 First the racist chanting and now this. Shameful. Very tragic, hope the lad pulls through, though it doesn't sound good. Quote
