ABBEY Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 who is the best striker? derbs or bennis awsome replacement?
Backroom Tom Posted February 10, 2010 Backroom Posted February 10, 2010 I couldn't say Abbey I think it's too close to call
Pinch Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 who is the best striker? derbs or bennis awsome replacement? Is benni's 'awesome replacement' Roberts? Well...for what it's worth, I don't think Roberts would even cut it in Greece.
LeChuck Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 who is the best striker? derbs or bennis awsome replacement? When is the last time you made a post that wasn't in that childlike sarcastic tone?
AndyC Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 11th in the table. playing football very much like hughes. except for not quite as many fouls as under hughes
Stevo Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 His second goal was very nice in the game showed from the link!
ABBEY Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 When is the last time you made a post that wasn't in that childlike sarcastic tone? As opposed to the above? Simple question I asked..not sarky at all.
S15 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Well of course it was sarcastic as McCarthy hasn't been replaced, so why ask the question? If Kalinic or Di Santo is Derbyshire's replacement, then either of them are better than him.
ABBEY Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Oh so zzzzam was lying when he said benni wouldn't be sold UNTIL HIS REPLACEMENT WAS IN PLACE?
S15 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 No it's just your fat mate was such a c**t that he left us in a completely untenable position by going on strike and making it clear he wasn't to play for us again. Basically forcing us into selling him and screwing us over in the process, something you still blame the manager for. Luckily Allardyce has done a good job by leading us to 11th and well clear of relegation meaning we can save our money and use it wisely in the summer rather than waste it on a panic buy now. It's called good management.

It's called good management. Good call shillito. Big Sam is a real manager, he's not just here for the team selection and tactics like the European coaches, he's here for the well being of the club and to stabilise the club both on and off the pitch. The manager can not be blamed for selling any of the players he has sold, each and every one of them wanted to leave, Sam simply got as much as he could for them. With regards to Big Mac, getting £2m for him is very, very good business.

unluckymorton Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 give it a rest abbey - it's off topic. can anyone update on how derbs is doing this season? He seems to have settled in quite nicely when you watch the clip further up the page. Good luck to the lad, he'd have struggled for us this season and with a bit of luck we could re-sign him in a couple of seasons a bigger and better player.

Can anybody shed light on what would happen in terms of fee IF we were to buy him back at some point? What happens to the %age of sell-on fee if he just came back to us?
bellamy11 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Can anybody shed light on what would happen in terms of fee IF we were to buy him back at some point? What happens to the %age of sell-on fee if he just came back to us? It would just be null and void, surely. So if we have a sell-on of 10% and they value him at £3m we just pay £2.7m.

CaliRoverNYC Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Everyone in Astoria loves Matty, I happen to live in the biggest Greek neighborhood in NYC, and since everyone is an Olympiakos Supporter out here the conversation always turns towards Derbyshire. They rave about his performance in the Greek Cup Final last year. Its funny that I have the same affection towards Derbyshire that I have towards many of the "Yanks Abroad" (Americans Playing in Europe) When I see Matty score its very much the same excitement that I get when Dempsey or Donavon score (against anyone but Rovers).
McClarky Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 He has been injured just about all season but has recently come back and has scored a few goals.
Lee0r Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 A good article in the Independant concerning Derbyshire.
only2garners Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 A good article in the Independant concerning Derbyshire. I saw that and would agree it's an excellent article. According to the acrticle Derbyshire will become only the fifth English striker to play in this year's Champions League tonight.
waggy Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 wish we had kept matty, hope he scores a hatfull of goals in greece,if nicola could finish like matty he would be a good un
