Grabbi Graeme Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Just a point about the Liverpool V Benfica game, I would be interested to see how UEFA respond to the firecrackers being lobbed on the pitch. Seeing the scortch marks left on the pitch those things would hurt if they hit someone. After the second time it happened the official behind the goal looked very reluctent to return to his position as the firecracker was not far from him, can't say I blame him, having his back to the crowd and wondering whats coming next, I would think UEFA would have to look at it as I would of thought the referee would include the incidents in his match report.

DeadlyDirk Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 In Europa League Liverpool 1-0 against Benfica, but Liverpool down to 10 men after Babbel sent off for some afters after a tackle on Torres by Luisao. Agger scored for Liverpool Channel 5 Commentator "His (Agger) last goal was against Blackburn Rovers, a rather less sexy opposition" I laughed when I heard that, how dare they suggest such a thing, we're well sexy!

I assumed that the incidents would be in the match report. I just think UEFA are very poor at dealing with such incidents of crowd control. I find it riddiculous that these things are let off at grounds accross Europe yet nothing is really done.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 If it happened in England. We'd be banned from Europe. Apparently my lip reading friend said the convo between the ref and the linesman was the following: Ref: What happened pointless lino? P.Lino: A firecracker nearly blew my head off Ref: Was it our wonderful European friends from Portugal or those bloody English hooligans? P.Lino: It was the Portuguese. What are you going to write in the match report about the firecrackers? Ref: What firecrackers? ;-) *my lip reading friend doesn't lip read and the above conversation didn't happen and he also doesn't exist. Infact I don't have any friends.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 1-1 Barca equalise. Messi with a great finish.
Backroom Tom Posted April 6, 2010 Backroom Posted April 6, 2010 Messi shows just why he's the best currently in the world. We should have a look at him in the summer. He should fit our wage stucture
Eddie Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 All he did was get a bit of luck and smack it. This game is a bit like watching two very good under 16 teams play each other. and now we get to see why I'll never like Messi more than Rooney. Get up you cheating b*$t*rd.
Backroom Tom Posted April 6, 2010 Backroom Posted April 6, 2010 You are right eddie anyone could have finished that
Eddie Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 You are right eddie anyone could have finished that Tons of players could have. Messi is fantastic, but that doesn't make everything he does amazing.
Backroom Tom Posted April 6, 2010 Backroom Posted April 6, 2010 What are you on about it wasn't a dive he rolled too much for my liking and it wasn't a foul but it wasn't a dive either
Exiled_Rover Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 It wasn't a dive? Why roll around like a bitch then? Little ######.
Eddie Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 What are you on about it wasn't a dive he rolled too much for my liking and it wasn't a foul but it wasn't a dive either Diving? Simulation? Call it what you want but it's cheating.
Backroom Tom Posted April 6, 2010 Backroom Posted April 6, 2010 Each to their own it's not a part of the game I like but for me he is the best in the world as for Rooney he isn't innocent of taking a dive either
BuckyRover Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I can see the irony of somebody feigning injury against Arsenal
BringOnNextSeason Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 just because denilson won the ball , dosent mean he still didnt get messi round the ankle !!!! messi thankyou and goodnight arsenal, best player in the world by a mile !!
Eddie Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Each to their own it's not a part of the game I like but for me he is the best in the world as for Rooney he isn't innocent of taking a dive either Everybody dives nowadays sadly, but I just hate someone rolling 7 times on the ground like a big girl.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Messi's 37th goal of the season. Err make that 38... Unbelievable...
philipl Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Messi is messing with Silvestre to say the least. Old man Campbell would probably have been the better pick but fair to say that neither Silvestre nor Campbell would get a start in the current Rovers set-up nor would be first reserve. Will be nice to see Arsenal take the sort of hammering they routinely hand out to others.
Exiled_Rover Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Much like Henry after his deliberate hand ball I have no time for Messi the man. He's a decent footballer though.
yankrover Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Did Arsenal forget how to defend? Wow, he just almost got number 4. Messi is unbelievable.
