philipl Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 An Abject 4-0 loss last year and we were lucky to get away with that. Who can deny we are now making real and substantial progress under this manager? Eddie? Tris/ Philip/ Abbey/ etc etc????? Not you Gav, I know you've seen the light! You have obviously failed to read my comments. Anyway it was a blatant penalty- Carragher and ball both on the ground stationary so Carragher paddled it away with his hand; they don't come more obvious than that right in front of the ref. Rafa is a joke- a very well paid one, but a sick excuse for a top flight manager.

Montfort Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I presume that the basis of Rafa's "joke" is that he sees a gulf between Rovers football and that of Barcelona. I doubt whether the Barca coaches have too many video's of Liverpool performances in their library.
Eddie Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 An Abject 4-0 loss last year and we were lucky to get away with that. Who can deny we are now making real and substantial progress under this manager? Eddie? Tris/ Philip/ Abbey/ etc etc????? Not you Gav, I know you've seen the light! Performances have improved over the past few weeks and it is great to see. Our football is getting better and we aren't quite as one-dimensional as we were before. All credit to Allardyce for making adjustments to the way in which the team is playing, but if anything it only goes to show that those of us complaining before were absolutely spot on. As soon as we've been a little less route-one, got more men forward and made a couple changes to the players out there we've seen huge improvements. Glad to see it working, but doesn't make me feel like I was wrong about anything that I said.
Gav Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 An Abject 4-0 loss last year and we were lucky to get away with that. Who can deny we are now making real and substantial progress under this manager? Eddie? Tris/ Philip/ Abbey/ etc etc????? Not you Gav, I know you've seen the light! Come on 47er lets not get carried away here. Yes we played well yesterday, its the sort of approach to away games we’ve been calling for over the past 12 months, maybe Allardyce has been reading our comment. We played well second half against Bolton also, but its not substantial progress in my book, but we gave it a right go yesterday and that is positive. thought we played brilliant yesterday,we gave away 2 bad goals, samba to blame for both, but apart from that it's a long time since i've seen rovers play so well, when we kept the ball on the floor we played some fantastic stuff, put we can't help punting it long.we were very lucky to have 11 men on the pitch, nzonzi slam dunk of lucas was soooooooooooo funny.keep the ball on the floor in future Don't ask for much do we
sleepyjack Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Agreed - can anyone cut the video and put it on here as an image?! The way he slammed him down was great! Serves Lucas for falling back into NZonzi like a muppet...he just stepped out the way, threw him to the ground and bang - sit down! Great success! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCRmNlr0Gtk
JAL Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 He's not. He's saying.....Andrews runs around a lot...... but achieves nothing. Cheers Topman, you sum it up perfectly ........
mark1875 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 dirty? bully boys? over physical?? I THINK RAFA SHOULD CHECK OUT THE 'PREMIER LEAGUE FAIR PLAY TABLE" ......... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/fairplay?league=eng.1&seasontype=4&cc=5739
philipl Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I hadn't seen that before- Player of the Season clincher for me! Nzonzi is the man.

A LOSS IS A LOSS WHICH EVER WAY YOU POLISH A TURD ! tbh i didnt hear the game or see the stream ,i was working...txt from mates only.
yellowsubmarine Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Great success! LOL... that brazilian looks like a broken doll. how the hell did lucas win the brazilian league best player??!?!?
thenodrog Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Liverpool play plenty of long ball to Torres from what i saw today and that fair play league (concept is a farce) shows we aren't one of the worst offenders when it comes to discipline on the pitch. Rafa, Wenger and Mourinho where the ones that started this blackeye Rovers bullshit that we are still tagged with by some parts of the media and some of the ref's, i've hated all three of them ever since. Not quite true RVR. As far as Lpool are concerned Rafa's predecessor Gerard Houllier started the bullshit when he whinged and whined and claimed that Lucas Neill broke Carraghers leg intentionally. Two Lpool players broke their legs that night quite accidentally yet somehow our players got the ###### end of the stick in the press and media because of the Lpool managers influence.
Bobby G Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Looking at the fair play table, do we have an outside chance of getting a back door in Europe through that?
imy9 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 A LOSS IS A LOSS WHICH EVER WAY YOU POLISH A TURD ! tbh i didnt hear the game or see the stream ,i was working...txt from mates only. A loss at Anfield is the same as a loss at Portsmouth or Hull.

Come on 47er lets not get carried away here. I've been saying it takes time to build up a new squad and we have to be patient, you were calling for the manager's head.
Hughesy Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 How do you put videos into an image like that? LOVE IT! - Sit the fook down!!
sleepyjack Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 How do you put videos into an image like that? LOVE IT! - Sit the fook down!! To create this I had to find highlights, rip them from the 'net, edit the video, re-upload it then make the gif. But Gifninja and a host of other websites will do it if you already have a video.
gumboots Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 How do you put videos into an image like that? LOVE IT! - Sit the fook down!! Suspect there are quite a few Liverpool fans who've wanted to do that to him since he joined them too.
Hughesy Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Garner - Rafa Shut it & get your own house in order He said: “Who is he to say that? I can’t imagine Barcelona are falling over themselves wanting to copy the way Liverpool play at the moment. Those comments are completely unnecessary and a complete disgrace. “If you look at the amount of money Rafa has spent since coming to Liverpool then you would be worried if they weren’t beating Blackburn Rovers. The fact is this season they have struggled to beat them in two games, with the home game a draw.
Gav Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Not getting carried away to admit we are making real progress but I know it hurts! I'll reserve my judgement for now, a win and a loss doesn't constitute 'making real progress' in my book. We got hammered by Stoke only 3 weeks ago But I've praised the effort on Sunday because it was deserved, lets hope it continues.

If Rafa is waiting for Barca's President to ring with a job offer I think he'll be waiting for a mighty long time!
Amo Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 What gets me is that it wasn't even a particularly witty remark, it was straight from the playground. The man has no class.

philipl Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 47er, I always thought your posts were pretty superficial as is your reading of other people's posts. Even at the worst point, I said the best thing for everybody was for Sam to get his act together. He has done so and I am delighted.
47er Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 47er, I always thought your posts were pretty superficial as is your reading of other people's posts. Even at the worst point, I said the best thing for everybody was for Sam to get his act together. He has done so and I am delighted. I can't be bothered trawling through your posts to confirm my impression but it seemed to me you positioned yourself to be on the "winning side" when we were going badly. I pointed it out at the time. As for superficial, I say what I think in a form that doesn't need analysing so I can squirm out of it afterwards. Lets hope you go on being delighted.
