Steve Moss Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 So the home kit would be blue and white and the away kit would be, erm, blue and white. Exactly. But horizontally instead of vertically. Well it sounded good with 4 beers in me.

Clitherover Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Would like to see an improved take on this old away shirt, maybe black with red pinstripes instead.
sloth_frattelli Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I liked the luminous green CIS one with the crests down one side...any takers? Also liked the yellow one the year after with the blue piping detail.
BigUts Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I hate that old Kappa away shirt. It merely looks like a 'generic' shirt that any old Sunday league club could buy, with a badge sewn on. Check out the black Everton kit this season. Black with red pin stripes in such a manner would look awesome IMHO!
Cocker Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 So this but with smaller red stripes? I love that shirt. My requests for a new shirt are:- 1. Please could we have a collar 2. Could the sponsor be put on better instead of the usual sticker Its not too much to ask is it?
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I love that shirt. As did I. Got it for Christmas with Shearer on the back
Claytons Left Boot Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Yep, the red and black kit as per the Sutton photo, with collar, looks superb. I was up in Lancaster watching my lad play football at that time, wearing that shirt and as I walked past a couple of other dads, I heard one say - Blackburn always have brilliant shirts. For the home kit I would like a 1960 cup final style retro shirt. Just blue & white, no red and a simple v neck. mr Williams, if you're reading this, make some notes - you know you want to!
Hughesy Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 Dont like the black & red sutty one....looks cheap. Although I did have one....but to be honest I usually do, regardless of design or colour....had that minging copper one too, that was crap! Anyone remember the electric yellow & blue kit we had too? That wasnt bad...was it!?
MeanGreenMachine Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 marseille shirt is very very nice and smart too. That in black with white/blue alternating pinstripes would look very very nice i think. I loved the halved away shirt, i just think it would get boring very quickly if we did it every season.
Iceman Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Anybody got a pic of the River Plate shirt? That in Black and Red, would look nice i think.
Clitherover Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 So this but with smaller red stripes? That is a better example of what i meant, i did a search on it and the kappa one was all i could find. I hate that old Kappa away shirt. It merely looks like a 'generic' shirt that any old Sunday league club could buy, with a badge sewn on. I know it's horrid, that's why i said an improvement on it. marseille shirt is very very nice and smart too. That in black with white/blue alternating pinstripes would look very very nice i think. I loved the halved away shirt, i just think it would get boring very quickly if we did it every season. That's the sort of thing in terms of what size pinstripes would look best.
Hughesy Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 02g - any feedback from the fans forum last night RE this topic?!
blue/white Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Pretty sure 3 is one of their squad in drag +1 # 3 is truly awful. Judging from this photo we are to assume that spanish ladies DO NOT know how to comb their hair. Low budget production from Racing.

The commemorative kit makes a lot of sense... didn't Arse just announce a kit that'll tribune their '71 FA cup winning side? Here in Yankeeland, or Yanquilandia (for my mexican neighbors) -- the land of the 'throwback' jersey, the clubs' PR apparatus would have been on top of this 2-3 years ago. Couple the 50 year anniversary of Rovers' 1960 FA Cup with the 10th year anniversary of Sir Jack's demise from this mortal coil.... it seems a 'slam-dunk' in yank parlance.
MeanGreenMachine Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Anybody got a pic of the River Plate shirt? That in Black and Red, would look nice i think. If rovers did a shirt like man city third shirt (the fag packet kit as i call it) i would be over the moon. Its a really really nice shirt. The in black with blue & white stripe i will be buzzing.
mellison24 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Please let it be the 'Gullit' top! That would be QUALITY! In terms of the Jack commemoration, what about having Jack Walker in place of 'Crown Paints' but have the Crown above 'Jack'. People would then still know it's Crown Paints, wouldn't they? Something like: *crown* --Jack Walker I'd photoshop something if I could, but I can't
BlueWhiteDynamite Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Some ideas from above i've put together http://img534.imageshack.us/slideshow/player.php?id=img534/7320/1267054682ok6.smil
MeanGreenMachine Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Home shirt and blue and white stripe on black shirt at very nice mate. Prehaps change the style of it to the same as the man city kit tho and it be epic!
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 The first shirt in the slideshow looks great, would love it to be similar to that. Plus the first home shirt is good as well. Guarantee that the Umbro designs will look far poorer in comparison.
Presty On Tour Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Some ideas from above i've put together http://img534.imageshack.us/slideshow/player.php?id=img534/7320/1267054682ok6.smil Some good work there but on the home kits, the blue and white are traditionally the other way round.
BlueWhiteDynamite Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I thought they looked slightly odd. Any way, they didnt take long, but the badges and logos aren't great quality. If anyone else fancies a try - you need photoshop Download either of these http://www.filefront.com/15663701/SS09-Template-Pack-V4.0-by-Hammer9.rar/ http://www.filefront.com/15664267/SS09-Template-Pack-V4.0-by-Hammer9-Part2.rar/ (These files contain full photoshop templates from manufacturers over the last few seasons, each has its own folder like Nike umbro and loads more i've never heard of - the designs in part 2 are Lupo - Zina, so for Adidas you'll need part1 ) Follow this: http://www.footballshirtculture.com/200802271161/kit-design/football-shirt-design-tutorial-for-beginners.html (not every step is needed) And away you go......
Hughesy Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 Hopefully the blue n white wont have a big black banner accross the middle for the crown sponsor. As for City's 3rd kit - its crap!
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Some ideas from above i've put together http://img534.imageshack.us/slideshow/player.php?id=img534/7320/1267054682ok6.smil Liking the "Crown" Jack Walker part And I (for once) agree with Hughesy, the City kit looks crap
