gumboots
Exactly ... we might just trade with a ball of Wool and a packet of wurthers this summer! I have quite a few balls of wool lying round my house so perhaps I could add to the transfer kitty. Could even, despite the government having massively hiked the price throw in a can of cider. Now that should really bring in a big player.

nicko
It looks like Hull are doing a Pompy and getting an advance on parachute payments. If true the premier league are opening a whole new can of worms in how clubs are run in the future. Do you Know anything about this Nicko. Hull reach for parachute to avert crash The Premier League have not given them the money in advance...they have borrowed against it, probably using a finance company. That is the kind of stupidity that goes on. You can say what you want about Burnley...at least they didn't go into the red. The fact for them is that Coyley got them in the Premier League and earned them a fortune... If they use the cash wisely they should romp the Championship next season. The two other clubs going down might be a very good bet to go down again. Mind you, there is a difference between having money to spend and knowing how to spend it. SIMON GARNERS 194
If they use the cash wisely they should romp the Championship next season £20 Million....the reputed cost of the new 3,000 seater stand/facility at Turf Morgue. A wise move I think not.

FourLaneBlue
The interesting part this summer is that you don't apparently have any players to sell to finance deals. Bentley two years ago, Santa Cruz last year. Where would you have been without those deals??? Hmm...more like... Two years ago - Santa Cruz AND Friedel AND Derbyshire During the last year Bentley AND Warnock AND McCarthy This year we at least have Reid and MGP out of contract which should free up wages. After selling all that lot it would be a real pain if we had to sell to buy (at a quarter of the price) yet again so soon.
michaelthomas
-----------Robbo----------- Salgado-Samaba-Jones-Olsson -----Dunn-Fonzi-Benayoun--- Diouf-----------------Riera ----------Soldado---------- That team could go far imo. u mad? why on earth would you take givet out? he's an absolute rock at left back, and even better at centre back. salgado-givet-samba-olsson would go far, and we could play that straight away. Lurid Coat
Sadly, yes. Bullard is exactly what our midfield needs, if only he wasn't an expensive crock. So true. I'm desperate - for creativity and spark In the centre - the centre of the park I wrote a rap to show how desperate I am So sort it out, FFS, Big Sam I used Goldie Lookin' Chain's "Half Man - Half Machine" beat and added some atrocious lyrics with my computer integrated robot voice on top. Check it out if you know what's good for you. Safe! http://www6.zippyshare.com/v/30699179/file.html Lyrics Big Sam, listen up Your prime objective is to go to the shop And buy a midfielder that can pass and shoot Do you compute? One up at Molineux - and things look swell Bastürk put the Wolves - under his spell Spreading passes - all over the pitch He's from Turkey - and he is ###### rich Keith on the other hand - is doing (Please don't use that word again) all OK, he hit the post - but can't control a ball He's mostly been a miss - seldom a hit Many claim - that Andrews is a bit ###### If Reid were a horse - he'd been put to rest Sell him for a penny - that's all I can suggest We're really missing Savage and a bit of Tugay flair We need a midfielder with beautiful hair (Big Sam, ###### sort it out before it's too late Next verse coming up, do you compute? Roger, out) Calling Big Sam Time to devise a master plan Our central midfield's crying out for reinforcement(s) It's time to show - a statement of intent (x2) Michel Salgado - is the best man playing In the current squad - if you-know what I'm saying Looks like a mixture - of Rambo and Tugay passes the ball to N Z O N Z I Who then receives the ball and plays it backwards No wonder why he gets all these man of the match awards His friend Linganzi came from St. Etienne Gonna be the next ###### Michael Essien But not now, it's too early I tell ya Almost forgot - to mention Vincent Grella The man is made of glass - plays 1 game outta 10 Our midfield is in need - of a few good men Big Sam, listen up Your prime objective is to go to the shop And buy a midfielder that can pass and shoot Do you compute? bluebruce
I would love the 1st one to be true.........28 goals this season, how does that compare to Derbyshire in the same league?? 23 goals actually, in 28 games, so sayeth Wiki. Compares to Derbyshire with 11 in 18 since his loan started (or 6 in 11 this season, in which he has had injury problems). Not a breathtaking difference. And Derbyshire averaged about 1 in 6 for us in England. It's a crap league. Also, the Wiki article says Cisse has been criticised for not performing in the big games. Seems his goals mostly came against weak opposition. Add to this the exorbitant fee it would cost us for a 28 year old (their deal to take him there was worth about 20 million Euros after wages were considered), and this would be a retarded/impossible move for us to make. Steve Moss
I don't think Cisse would be a good investment. Soldado, Lewanowski or Hooper would be better bets, IMO. Even Dindane. Assuming we could afford them.
deryck guyler's spoon
At the risk of a painful flaming I timidly point out that, despite seemingly being around for ages, David Nugent is only 24. He managed something like 7 or 8 for a very poor team this season and might be available fairly cheaply? Tin hat on

We need at least 2 new strikers and I don't see better value around than Nugent. And he lives just down the road!
BigUts
No one fancy Fletcher? He seems a decent player, but he is more likely to go to the trotters or stay at B**nley!

Seems his goals mostly came against weak opposition. It said 28 in the article....Exactly what we need then. Had we a goalscorer against Sunderland (H & A), Stoke (H), Wolves & Hull (A) then we would be sitting much happier right now! Tin hat on Nugent - the only player who has played for 2 of the 3 relegated clubs this season??? Nooooo he's cursed! neophox
I think Big Sam is too fat, and thats the reason why we always try to get players in so late. Doesn't rovers have a good fitness team to work on Sam's fitness levels? And then I don't know if Gary Hooper is a player we should sign, he isn't better than Kevin Doyle and we saw how he played against us.... I think Dindane and Lewandowski is better allround players and I think we need someone that would improve us. I also believe Nikola Kalinic next season will be great. A full preseason and then he will be our asset and he will know the team and the game better. The times he hit the woodwork will be goals instead. Look at Bendtner, it took time and now he's great. MeanGreenMachine
Look at Bendtner, it took time and now he's great. That made me chuckle . Anyway, if we want to challenge for the title we only need 2 players. Step foward 6 foot 8 Nickola Zigic and Rory Delap .

What is Brian laws record at Burnley - is it 17 games and lost 14 of them. I think to come back up they need a new manager. I thought at the time that it was a surprising appointment. Hughesy
If Burnley keep Brian Laws then the money earned will be wasted on poor players - so here's hoping he stays on & finishes just outside the play-offs, earning him another year to waste even more money!!
