AJW Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Dindane had a medical over a month ago...still not signed... That's slow by anybody's standards. so dindane has a medical before the end of the season , before we knew where we had finished and before we knew the budget? so why as he not signed ? has BS cooled his interest or have the board made more money available and have switched targets?

John Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 or have the board made more money available? We don't have any money to make available.
nicko Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 so dindane has a medical before the end of the season , before we knew where we had finished and before we knew the budget? so why as he not signed ? has BS cooled his interest or have the board made more money available and have switched targets? The Lewandowski affair took centre stage for a month or so...that one seems to be dead now...which is why Dindane is back on... But now there are other clubs in, so that's what happens in the transfer market. Rovers have been trying to sign a striker for a month or more, but it's been hard. Remember - realistically - Rovers were safe in February. So they have been able to plan for being a Premier League club since then. That's why they have been working on signing players for quite some time.
gazsimm Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Cant be happening Gaz, Nicko says no lol. well he might of got this wrong for once then. Champions League football was the key i have heard, oh well i think we could do a lot better then him anyway.
joey_big_nose Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Allardyce said this morning on Radio Lancashire, that he would probably have the lowest transfer budget in the Premier League. Someone needs to make a slap hand into forehead “d’oh” smiley
LeChuck Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Allardyce said this morning on Radio Lancashire, that he would probably have the lowest transfer budget in the Premier League. Are we the only club in the Premier League that has owners unwilling to put a penny of their own money into transfers?
gazsimm Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Dindane is with Portsmouth before playing in the FA Cup final. There are two Premier clubs in with bids - and contract offers. There is another considering whether to do the same. The player has repeatedly said he wants to stay in the Premier League. He went on Sky a couple of weeks back to say as much. Why change his mind now? Someone somewhere is trying to rev this up. There are a lot of agents in on this from different angles...so expect black propaganda all over. Champions league football has changed his mind i think Nicko!!
nicko Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Champions league football has changed his mind i think Nicko!! The Panathinaikos stuff is a bid to kick some butts over here...I will say it again...there are THREE Premier League clubs still trying to sign the player. As we speak.
Iceman Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 The Lewandowski affair took centre stage for a month or so...that one seems to be dead now...which is why Dindane is back on... That's why they have been working on signing players for quite some time. Nicko, if we dont have much money, why were we actively persuing Lewandowski? To me it makes no sense at all, that we want players who we cant afford. We knew the price, JW knew roughly what Sam would have to spend, and yet we are trying to bring in top strikers? Dindane and Frederic Pokemon seems to be the best options right now. I know, we would like a goalscorer, but right now i cant think of anybody.
Hughesy Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Are Bolton going to take up their option on Klasnic? As if they're not I'd like to see us make a cheeky bid for him. Didnt Coyle say after the Brum game he was going to try? £2m Nantes want I think... Allardyce said this morning on Radio Lancashire, that he would probably have the lowest transfer budget in the Premier League. No suprise realistically then. EVERY club who stayed up either have more money to waste, or owners willing to spend. We dont! Nicko, if we dont have much money, why were we actively persuing Lewandowski? To me it makes no sense at all, that we want players who we cant afford. We knew the price. We CAN afford....perhaps its more to do with the player not having proven at a top level?!
Drunx2002 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I don't think I can stand a summer of debating the merits of signing Nigel Reo-Coker and Steve Sidwell. Sounds like another long and dull transfer window awaits. Thank God the World Cup is on!
OJRovers Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Are we the only club in the Premier League that has owners unwilling to put a penny of their own money into transfers? Maybe us and Man United. The disinterest and non-accountibility of our owners is unique I would say. They want the Blackburn public to come out and support the club but When did they last make a public statement explaining their strategy? If they weren't connected to Jack Walker I doubt people would have stood for the lack of investment for so long, they are lucky in that respect, not sure how long it will last though.

I think its easy to complain about them. But they were essentially lumbered with us. It seems they allow us to trade with what we make so long as nobody is banging our door down demanding unpaid debts. They have converted debts to shares i believe. An act which in itself is understanding of the situation we are in. But we are a burden to them. They are trying to sell us, have lowered their price and seem willing to cut their losses on the most part. Yes its a shame we don't have tens of millions to chuck about each transfer window. But we do OK and at the end of the day each and every manager who has walked through the door must've known the facts.

There is money, but there is feeling [among some] that the total Lewandowski package is over-priced in terms of fee and wages. That one seems to have gone which is why othes are being chased currently.

They are also protected from criticism by the sterling work done by our chairman. Had he not been generally so competent they would have found themselves in trouble before now. I understand they don't want us and I'm not really complaining that they don't give us actual transfer funds as many owners do, but it is true that they might cop a lot more flak if it weren't for the fact that we generally do all right and we are carefully managed as a business by our chairman and other staff.

I'm sure they would. But they employ him to do a job and he is doing it very well.I just don't see what there is to be gained from giving them any flak. They inherited us and don't wish to spend their money on us. Thats entirely their perogative. The best we can ask for is they leave us alone and don't asset strip us. Which they are doing.

I didn't suggest that they should get grief from fans, just that I think they might if things weren't going as well as can reasonably be expected. When you see the stuff other fans complain about when their owners have spent loads and put their hands in their own pockets you realise that we are fairly tolerant, in that ours don't spend, and fairly fortunate that they do leave those who know what they are doing to do their job.
Muddboy Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Looks like Sam's trying to apply a bit of pressure – on everyone! http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/8164443.Sam__Blackburn_Rovers_can_t_afford_to_wait_for_striker/?ref=rss
nicko Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Champions league football has changed his mind i think Nicko!! Dindane has NOT signed for Panathinaikos...just checked. How could he have had a medical apart from anything else? I think there will be a result on Dindane before Tuesday...ultra hot one.
Jim Royle Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 So whom has fastened the purse on Levo? Can't believe it would be SA, so is it JW playing his usual long game tactics or are the trust involved? Answers on a postcard please

The bid is at 450k. In my opinion, I dont really know wether to laugh or cry. This deal must never go through! Have you heared about it Nicko?
Tom 1 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Why don't you buy Heskey. Go on, you know you want to. Please.
