The biggie is potentially fabulous news...if nothing else it shows ambition...

I reckon it's along the lines of us trying to sign Raul or Guti. Michael Salgado came to an unfashionable club, where he isn't earning as much as I imagine he did at Real and could have if he signed for a team in the Middle East. I wouldn't be surprised if Sam has been on to him about trying to sell the club to a few of his friends in Spain. I'm sure Raul would believe that he still has what it takes to play at the top level. That's my thoughts on the matter anyway. I'll just have to have a look at the paper tomorrow.

Far too much competition for Joe Cole, and far too high wages.

To throw a name in not mentioned already - Michael Owen? Surely no future at OT and Sam keeps banging out about wanting a goal scorer. Wages obviously a sticking point, but he's on pay-as-you-play at the moment so we could be in a strong negotiating position.

All this stuff about "meltdown" is so fascinating, but unfortunately the Sunday People (Scottish edition) never prints anything at all that is Rovers connected. So if someone would be kind enough to to take pity on all us poor Rovers exiles up here in Scotland and let us know tomorrow morning sometime.?.......we would be so very grateful!

Ah...but you seem to be thinking it needs to be a realistic target!

Last year Van Nistelrooy was at Real Madrid, wanted by some big European sides and, regardless, we could get anywhere near his damn wages.

Didn't stop Sam milking it for all its worth and getting in the papers!

As for Owen...that would be interesting and certainly the kind of big-name signing we could do with. However, his wages are apparently not quite as low as made out and he would certainly expect a big increase to swap being a United player (even if he doesn't play much) for coming to us.

The likes of Raul, and Guti have all been linked before, hardly a scoop for the back pages, "ambition" suggests it's someone off the radar and way off what we thought was our budget.

??, was sam in London for the cup final or on business, maybe both, is so it would suggest a player already in the UK.

Loan deal for Sturridge ? Cole from spammers, ;) role on 11 oclock. :D

If the news is Blackburn buying somebody (And Sam has been in London) then maybe Michael Ballack, Deco, William Gallas

Lol, I signed Deco to Rovers on FM10 and that wasnt a great sucsess. But would be irl though:P

Raul and Guti - FACT!

If this is true that would be absolutely sensational. It adds up in terms of causing a 'meltdown', Salgado being in, and showing Real (hohoho) ambition.

Hope you are right. A team full of kids with three masterful world class players providing the experience. That would sell a few season tickets.

-----------------Kalinic

----Raul---------Dunn------Dindane

-----------NZonzi-------Guti

Olsson---Samba-------Jones-----Salgado

---------------Robinson

That would be alright. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh I would love it so much if it was true. Probably not :(

Raul are not Big Sam signings they are both very talented but are like pussy cats.

What about Niklas Bendtner? Hardly meltdown stuff but with Chamakh going to the Emirates it isnt too Unbelieveable.

This really has got me confused though. Takeover? Player In? Player Out? Money Problems (more)? Manager change?

 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Have to say that signing an 32+ year old legend striker who may or may not adapt to this country and be good for a season or so doesn't excite me nearly as much as signing a 21 year old promising striker who could stay at Rovers for a while, score lots of goals and leave us with a big fee.

I know that the 21 year old option is less likely to work out but who's to say that these ageing names that are being touted around will adapt to the Premier League quickly, not to mention they're in decline. If this player is under 30 I'll start to get genuinely excited.
