Guti would be an interesting addition, but a board meltdown? I think not. Talk about overhyping to the extreme :D (If indeed it is Guti, is not then I'll continue waiting...)

I wouldn't mind him here, but I reckon his wages would be ridiculous.

Guti would be a good signing for us. I can see him taking Pedersens place. A huge improvement if so but how much wages do we pay for it?

£60,000

They all seem like that at the Daily Mirror.

Nicko stated the headline will be in the paper tomorrow, if it was going to be on the site today I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have been all mystic meg about it this afternoon.

The article is dated for tommorow...

Is this the big news then? Disappointment at the moment but may feel better in the morning. Was just expecting a piece of brilliant news (Ballack, Joe Cole) yes hoping for miracle

Guti would be a great signing. He would add that creative spark and a bit of flair.

If he were to sign then we should enjoy these moments seeing players who have achieved everything in their careers having a new challenge at Blackburn and in the Premier League.

Guti oozes quality. He potentially could become a cult hero like Tugay. Some people are saying that he's past it and yes he has been injured for a little bit this season but players who are past it wouldn't have played 29 first team games this season for Real Madrid as well as be vice-captain.

All I needed to hear was creative and midfielder in the same sentence and that was enough for me, land him or not at least we are looking in the right areas and would also explain why Salgado was talking to the press a lot recently.

If you dont ask you dont get, fair play Sam.

yeah just noticed that, fair enough it looks likely to be guti. Have to say I'm under whelmed rather than blown away. He's a good player no doubt about that, but I was expecting something........well I don't know what I was expecting but still.

Would be very happy if we could bring in Guti and Dindane and

Maybe even another couple of ones for the future if possible.

Someone like Guti would be great for the place. He has class, works hard and would be miles ahead of all the other players we have in terms of creativity. He may have 1 or 2 years in him yet, and that could be a good short-term injection into the club to push us onto the next level (Europa League football).

Just as long as he gets his mates Guti and Raul to join him this summer!!!!!!

Shocking news.

Guti is far from past it.

Most on here have been saying we need a creative midfielder with good vision and we are going for one, I for one am very pleased to hear it. Hopefully we can get him on board and I would not say no to his mate Raul.

How people cannot be pleased with us going for him, well just who on earth were you expecting Fabregas????

Guti is very unfit but with a good pre-season he is a mid, I cannot believe Blackburn fans would be disappointed, he is a bit old but people complaining about a lack of supply line, this guy has an eye for a pass. He isn't past it either, this may be his last season like Raul but there is a reason that even though every summer they sign countless attacking players for huge sums, they always seem to end up going back to Guti and getting him back in the side cause of what he offers them. I'd love him at Villa, not in a 4-4-2 but in a five man midfield he'd be top notch.

As for the Nicko lines, well Journos have to sensationalise :D (that is if this is the story) either way I do think i'd be quite delighted were I a rovers fan.

Agree! The games I've seen him play in this season, he has looked very good. Did not look out of place, and sprayed some fantastic balls to the strikers. He looked very comfortable, and still kept up with the pace of the game. Having 2 Madrid players at Rovers, would just further enhance our reputation and help getting more good players.

Guti would be our best footballer by miles. Great overview and good on the ball, not the quickest, but then again we have both olsson and Hoilett down both flanks with a lot of flair and speed. Guti`s qualities doesnt go away with age so im very enthusiastic about this news.
