[Archived] Potential Summer Transfers (2010)

Recommended Posts

Who gives a damn about Pedersen's salary? an extra £10-15k a week is cheaper then forking out £5/6m for a transfer fee plus similar wages on a player to replace him.

I give a damn when we are told by JW that our wage budget is out of control and yet we offer Pedersen a new deal (if reports are correct one of our biggest earners now). I also give a damn because if he has been rewarded a new deal its for those 5-6 games where he showed an improvement, the club seem to have forgotten the 2-3 years of mediocre and substandard performances.

I guess with Sam being on holiday there wont be much movement.. how long is he away?

Depends how far down the line things are. Mobile phones and video conferencing are quite useful tools nowadays particularly if the manager has already met a player and it's down to the money men.

Just a thought, if Man City do manage to sign Milner, are there any City players likely to be surplus to requirements what with the 25 player rule next season.

Just a quick look at Wiki details the midfielders as:

Abdisalam Ibrahim (NOR)

Adam Johnson (ENG)

Gareth Barry (ENG)

Patrick Vieira (FRA)

Nigel de Jong (NED)

Kelvin Etuhu * (NGR)

Stephen Ireland (IRL)

Michael Johnson (ENG)

Vincent Kompany (BEL)

Martin Petrov (BUL)

Vladimir Weiss* (SVK)

Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG)

A lot less players than I imagined to be honest, I imagine they will be looking into keeping the English players for the Home Grown rule.

Done Nicko....4%, behind the Suarez two on 13% each.

Can you get us a load of info please? About every club you can...more info the better - lets get this topic back onto transfer gossip!

Perhaps the news is on Dindane to Qatar & Piquionne to Rovers or Fulham?!

No Hughesy!!! Let's get it back on topic by discussing Rovers based transfers.

This is not a thread for all and sundry, we'll be over run with Villa fans again otherwise ;)

TBH i dont care how much top level footballers earn , all credit to them , but you just know at some point during this summer we are going to miss out on a player because we cant afford his wages or thers's nothing left i the kitty and we'll start blaming the board for pedersens new "improved" contract

Guti on his way to Zenit St.Petersburg?

His contract runs out 30.June 2011?

Guti to Zenit?

Googletranslate:

Guti has taken the decision to leave Real Madrid for some time. Now it is seeking team and his agent, Zoran Vekic, manages several proposals. The 14 has offers from Turkey, Russia, Abu Dhabi, England and Italy. The one he likes to play is the verbal proposal of Zenit St Petersburg.

AS has been told, Guti hopes that the next dates the team led Spalletti made in writing the said interest. The player, which ends contract with Real Madrid on June 30, 2011, intends, firm and irrevocable, to leave this summer, but so far no hurry. But really, at the offices of the Bernabeu on today there is no formal bid for the white player.

However, Guti is excited about the idea of playing next season in Russia. It attracts the adventure because the Champions League and plays for Zenit coach acquired prestige in Italy with Roma with its taste for good football. Galatasaray Rijkaard also loves him, but the set does not dispute the Turkish top European competition next season.

If it is indeed £55k a week I've no sympathy for Allardyce or Williams when they cry foul about having no funds to play with.

If they've paid that waste of space £55k a week they can say goodbye to my season ticket money. Christ. If we've ever made a worse business decision than that then I'm a Burnley fan.
