The 'Austrian' Grella move has a big chance of happening...it's been going on for weeks...shocked it hadn't been written before.

A couple of well-informed folks round here knew about it long before I did.

If that came off you would have won the pools, possibly twice over.

Bolton and Chris Samba is just too bizarre to even run past my chum...there is interest in Cahill but it's from a club with not enough money.

All else quiet.

Sorry for the lack of an 11 o'clocker. Trying to get my head round Lost. What a lot of old ######.

Good news about Grella but I loved the lost series finale, brilliant stuff

Make it happen... Has he had talks with Gala? Have they made an official bid or anything??

Woo hoo!!! Delighted if we can recoup 2.5m for him!!

Ambrose to QPR At that value I reckon he sounds like a bargin and a half..

Totally agree, can operate on both flanks and down the middle, excellent set pieces and can score. Add to that he is still quite young, worth a punt and even if he doesnt live upto the mark we could still get that sort of money back for him.

I see Liverpool have released Aurelio...wouldn't mind a punt for a free transfer!

Arnt we trying to shift out crocks? Add to that he is pretty cack.

And shifting Grella out for any money would be a massive bonus. The blokes made out of glass and really isnt that good a player.

An example of somebody who could have more than adequately replaced Pedersen for far less money.

Ambrose is a Championship player being chased by two Championship clubs...and one SPL club.

I think that says it all.

Pedersen was a player on a free that no one wanted.

Ambrose would have done fine in his place.

Pedersen has spent his career in the top flight.

Ambrose has spent most of his career failing to make it in - or failing to reach - the top flight.

Both are at their level.

You talk as if he is some sort of vetren. He is still quite young, and has just had a fantastic season and also put in some cracking cup performances against premiership sides. For 750k we could have gave him a break, if he would of failed we could have easily made that sort of money back for him.

Our defence is probably as strong as its been for years and people suggest signing more??! No thanks.

Stay clear of defenders & get shut of 1 full back.

Aurelio is arguably a better left sided midfielder than full back.

I don't know, we do need a specialist left back since we don't have a single one in the squad. He's not a bad player so I wouldn't be adverse if we could afford him after the other positions are signed. Keeping him fit would be a challenge though.

We just need to shift one of our three right backs, so here's hoping Jacobsen has a good world cup and someone takes a fancy to him.

And is Benjani a 10 goal a season player on a regular basis? 10 was a starting point; 15 would be better, although I know they are rare. But if your chief striker can't hit 10 on a regular basis then you will struggle. We may have finished 10th but without goals we can't think we'd do it again. Part of the goalscoring is the chances but they still have to be scored. Would Benjani score them or free space for someone else to? I'm still not convinced. If we put most of our cash into bringing Guti to Ewood, yes we won't have much to spend on a striker and I can see the logic and imperative there. However, does it have to be Benjani? Is he good enough?

I have no idea whether Benjani is a 10 goal man. The issue is whether Sam thinks he's a 10 goal man.

I don't think Rovers are in the market for taking a chance on players like him...that money PLUS wages could be the difference in more ambitious projects.

It's like the fuss over Moses when he was at Palace. Over-priced and stuck on the Wiagn bench.

The gap between the Premier and the Championship is getting bigger.

Love Blackpool dearly, but is that not an example of the difference between the two levels? The Championship has been exciting because it is ordinary with very few stars capable of stepping up.

I've said before that there's nothing in the lower leagues and have been castigated for it. "Generally speaking", because there's always the exception, any of the good youngsters down there are snapped up by the big clubs very early in their career. The rest are pretty well below what's required in the PL. If we're looking for players to strengthen rovers, then look elsewhere would be my advice.
