Please prove me wrong.

Should it be a 15th or a 10th?

Ambrose is currently on 9k a week according to most sites with info about Palace's financial troubles.

And MGP does NOT earn anywhere near 50k a week. so 1/25th?

Think he'd just got promoted from League 2 when we signed him, that's quite a jump.

So had his boss...

The gap to the Championship is widening. Two of the three relegated teams won automatic promotion straight back and Blackpool v Cardiff for all its verv and drama had Charlie Adams' freekick and little else of the Premier League about it.

Of course there have to be Prem quality players in the teams not promoted but I am struggling to think of any. Victor Moses whom everyone was on the band wagon for cannot even get a regular game at Wigan.

29 league games - so 16 less games, just 2 less assists. and 3 years younger. You do the maths...Ambrose has been in the top league and proved nothing when he was in it....IF he had, then he would still be thier now.

And Ambrose scored 12 more goals and played throughout the whole season without any fitness concerns. I'd say he's clearly more of a threat than Joe Ledley is, and can play in a variety of positions. You're clasping at straws about a three year age difference.

 I love that rolleyes icon, it’s so cute, reminds me of zippy.

I shall bow to your superior knowledge and concede the point that he earns exactly the same as Gamst, is absolutely woeful and should be avoided at all costs.

Now how is that move for Kaka going?

Nobody claimed he earned the same....however someone did claim he earns 1/25 of gamst - meaning Gamst earns 225k a week!!

To be fair it would be better for all of us if sam just signed whoever hughesy wanted him to. It would make this thread, and most others on the site, much easier to read without pages and pages of posts from him bitching and arguing if anyone dares to have a different opinion!

:unsure::rolleyes:

So terribly sorry again. So...

He earns roughly one and a half of what Gamst earns(given that you know exactly and incontrovertibly what both of them earns) give or take some money for bonus' and such like, league appearances, (I am sure we are not factoring any other things like expenses, travel reimbursements etc,) is absolutely woeful and should be avoided at all costs.

Am I correct now?

:blink::wacko:

Have I missed something, not seen us linked with Ambrose...?

Maybe a separate thread if people want to talk about him....

I think this is the key point isnt it, not a single link yet a few people on here are still debating if he would be a good buy or not.

This topic has gone of topic on so many occassions it is unreal.........

Could Carlos Vela be a potential Rover? I see that he wants to quit Arsenal.. How much would he go for Nicko?

Vela may possibly be available on loan if Arsenal sign enough new forwards...

Before anyone asks there isn't an 11 o'clocker. Nowt to tell.

At the end of the day stats prove very little most of the time as you can make them say what you want. I'm with Hughesy though...he's proven he can't cut it in the Premier League. I much happier that we have Morten when compared with Ambrose and even Ledley!

As Nicko quite rightly said, Ambrose found his level at Palace...big(ish) fish and small(ish) pond springs to mind.

You're repeatedly ignoring the massive gulf in goals though. I don't understand how you think a goal is less valuable than an assist purely because of the position somebody plays, as you inferred earlier. Quite frankly, that is moronic. If Pedersen had scored 20 goals this season and only made 3 assists, would you be wanting rid?

The point is hughesy that you won't allow anyone else the chance to voice their opinion.

No im taking those points on board....im just pointing out flaws etc.

Ambrose isnt a bad player, but in my view we have better & also have players with better potential, therefore I dont see the point in him. End of.

There are obviously some decent posts and discussion, just also a lot of very one sided views who think the likes of Ambrose is either the solution or others who think he would be a complete waste of money without the ability to see the view of someone else.

As I said I don't think he's quite good enough for us but can openly admit that I don't know that for sure and it's just my opinion, a lot of people seem to think he'd be a good player for us, so if he did end up coming I hope they are right and I'm wrong.

As for Guti I hope he comes too, bit concerned about the possible wage but that's just speculation for now, still don't want to go near Benjani though, I can't see what he offers that Roberts doesn't, again we should aim higher, but then that's just my opinion ;)

I'm thrilled about the possibility of getting Guti but worried about the "all your eggs in one basket syndrome". If we land him at such a cost that we can't afford a striker and Guti then gets injured we will struggle. A striker on loan seems most likely.I wouldn't like to be a manager.

Sam may well be playing a dangerous game with Guti, he must think it's worth it.

Is Guti putting all the eggs in one basket, IMO, no, no doubt I'll be wrong. ;)

I know we have beat the hell out of the transfer budget but the way I see it, Reid gone, Kishi needs be sold or let go, Basturk surely gone ( he must have been picking up a pay packet of some sort), if the wages for Guti are covered by those three leaving, surely that leaves most or all the transfer budget intact.

JW stated with the increase in revenue this year we can maintain the current wage structure. It seems to me that the above meets all the criteria.
