If we got Mohammad Tchité, Guti and say Carlos Vela on loan, I'd be a happy man. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but Aruna Dindane has joined a team in Qatar. The lure of the quality league in Qatar was just too good to turn down!

Until the Guti situation is decided either way then I can't see too much movement anywhere else, I would take Vela on a loan but hope he gets more of a chance that Di Santo did.

I watched Vela last night and think he is a nightmare for the defense. I would love to see him here on loan.

So all this hype over Guti, and he wants to stay in Spain. Oh well, bring on Beattie and Benjani. :(

I will be gutted if after all this he stays at Madrid. We have needed a midfielder like him for a very long time.

And instead I find the same old articles mentioning Kevin Nolan on his way to Rovers.

Nicko Have We Got Any New Striker Targets instead of the same old Benjani and Beattie rumours ?

Guti played much of last season because Kaka was injured. Jose is on his way in and likes players like Guti - I cant see this happening. If he gets splinters in his arse warming the bench between now and christmas the situation may change but we will be skint again by then. Sam cant afford to wait.

Excited but confused with the Guti link. We obviously need a player of this type and quality but he has a two year shelf life in the Premier League and we will be stuck in the same position again; needing a creative midfielder.

Guti has the option of staying or going...at the moment the signs are that he will go.

It's well known that he has spoken to at least two clubs, Rovers and Galatasaray, so far.

Patience, people.

And until there is a straight answer from Guti then I don't think any other 'new' striker names will come on the radar.

Dindane has joined quatar club lekhwiya. Glad he didnt come to Rovers as hes obviously more concerned about a good pay packet than the level of football. Lekhwiya have also signed Bakary Kone from Marseille.

Think Rovers and Bolton got lucky here. Better to know what someone is about than find out later.

According to reports Birmingham have dropped thier interest in Kris Boyd on a free - where's he off to Nicko?

Cant see us signing Guti to be honest....just cant see it happening, im sure bigger clubs will get involved if we get near a deal.

That's a good point. The only reason that he let Wilshere go to Bolton, was because they were going to play proper football which he could take part in. If we are just lumping the ball up the pitch, I doubt Wenger would want won his players playing like that.

We've got no chance with Guti. Even if we had, our entire budget just for a banner signing? Not sure about that one. Hope we don't spend all summer figuring out the obvious...

Perhaps Wenger would want to send a player on loan here to 'toughen' them up abit...Its worth a try anyway.

Vela on loan in place of Di Santo

1 main striker in place of Benni

1 midfielder in place of Reid

Also sell 1 keeper, 1 right back & Zurab......A good summer, and a more healthy looking wage bill!

I would imagine that signing Guti would mean that the phrase "a more healthy looking wage bill" would not be something that we could associate with our summer dealings.

2 There aren't any 'bigger' clubs around in England for Guti yet, so keep your nerve. As long as it does not run too long there is no harm in the chase.

And thats another reason to stop chasing him all summer....Realistically I dont see how we can afford him, without suffering elsewhere.

Guti's Wages would probably only be covered by getting rid of Reid, Zurab & Chimbonda's wages.....

I hope we do't end up wasting all our time with Guti, should he not move here, and end up with no strikers. Or worse, sign Benjiani or Beattie out of desperation.

I would rather go for Mido than Benjani or Beattie, he is only on a £1000 a week at WHU, last I heard.
