Sounds like this italian chap is a broke as we are

Excellent mate

how about jorge valdivia? plays in the UAE league and is a chilean attacking midfielder. is a bit small but has great technique and has cracking set pieces.

He would want more than Guti, and is a headcase to boot.

Ever seen the other news on that site.. the daily rover is insane when it comes to unsubstantiated rumours.. e.g. titchy Another tall midfielder The next Eto

The same level as the Sun and the Daily Star.

hahhahaha... that article must be wrong.. we can't be linked to such an inept group of strikers.. oh wait.. nevermind

Kris Boyd has never looked so appealing....the more i think about it the more i think he would be good for us, Hes a very

good finisher and could be what were looking for.

List of No No's:

Benjani

Piquionne

Beattie

List of "ye go on then!"

Janko

Boyd

Lewandowski

Robbie Earnshaw is better than boyd. not saying Rovers should go for him. But it is still early in the transfer window. So thee is still plenty of time for Sam to sign a striker we have not thought of yet. At this time of year there is always speculation and rumours, often smoke screen from the clubs seeking other targets. To say Rovers have a limited choice, such as the 3 you mentioned is in my view a daft assumption.

Others have also done the same on this board. It is a matter of wait and see and facing reality. there are other players within Rovers budget, that most of us have not thought of.

Where the hell have I said there the only 3 possible targets? Im going of people we've actually been linked to.....throwing Random names in the hat is pointless!

Did anyone ask about the danish attacker Søren Larsen who's currently with the danish national team and just got released by toulouse?

He's tall, strong and a decent finisher.. Havent had much luck in toulouse since his move from schalke 04.. But on a free and probs quite cheap in wages.

I remember Søren Larsen from when he scored a hat-trick against England. I saw him a few times for Schalke and always thought that he looked decent. I don't what he's like now though. And Chris Boyd would not be a good signing for us. He doesn't have the work ethic required to play the loan front man role. We should stay well away. When I read the article on the LET website, it said how we may only have a budget based on the £2 million that we got for McCarthy. If that's the case, then it's a total joke. We may as well have finished 17th for all the good prize money will do for our transfer fund.

He only scored once from what I remember, I'm sure Rommedahl and Tomasson were on the scoresheet on that shocking day. From what I've seen of him he's well below the quality that we need.

My scouting:

Emad Moteb - Linked to Everton last year, egyptian stiker 26 but scores goals for Al-Ahly and Egypt, worth a look at imo, small and pacey.

Jermaine Beckford - English fits into the homegrown rule but thats not it hes pacey and a finisher bit lik Derbyshire but with the attitude as baggage not nesciarrly a bad thing if he can channel it right like her did against spurs and man utd in the fa cup this year on a free too. 10 k a week and its an easy gamble im sure. Long as a finisher a natural one gets servic in the box he will put them away.

Victor Anichebe - Don't laugh because hes an everton ressie but this boy has potencial to go far, good touch, good turn of pace , big build and hes only 22, got a good shot an eye for goal, 2 mill probs?

Ideye Brown - plays for Sochaux in france , if your familiar with doumbia at young boys who has just joined cska for 7 mill then Brown is like him bigish build pacy he's only 20 a bright future ahead me thinks played in the swiss leagu at the start of the season so not sure on a value maybe 4 millish?

Mario Manduzuic - Croatian used to playing with Kalnic in th under 21's guys a bit older at 24 but a good goal record, a good turn on him, confident enough to take his chances and isn't selfish. 4 million?

Boubacar Sanogo - A tank, battering ram. Great pace for a big lad can hold it up, not too goal shy but not a goal getter , 28 and an ivory coast international plays his football for st ettiene in france. 1.5 million?

Ricardo Fuller - On a free as hes yet to sign a new contract with Stoke if we could offer him a good deal why not? ca lead the line well, a good build and a proven PL goalscorer.

Miralej Sulejmani - Ajax thought theyd signed the next superstar hasn't seen much game time and has been made avfailble as hes not justified his 15 million price tag, quick, creative, eye for goal and a very big tip of mine to bounce back and come to light. Cheeky loan bid?

Danko Lazovic - PSV reserve but dont let it put you off, 19 goals for Vitesse in 07 but been on the fringes of the PSV team, solid, about 6ft can head and has a good shot also reminds me of kevin davies he can play that right wing position tosupport the main striker. 1 mill?

Demba Ba - Big lad upfront for Hoffienheim had a spell inengland as a yts at watford, scores a fair amount of goals but a better version of Heskey. 5mill?

Yoann Goufrann(Bordeaux), Kevin Gameiro (FC Lorient), Hugo Almieda (Werder Bremen), Dimitry Sychev (lokomotiv Moscow), Felipe Caciedo (Man City ressies), Igor de Camrago (Standard Liege) abit out of our price range but all vastly great players who scores goals at a good level albeit at international or at club football... real fan of goufrann boy will go far.

you won't be making it as a scout

Seriously mate I thought there were some good suggestions made by Dunnfc, this is a forum where people can share ideas. We don't need people to rubbish them without even giving a reason. Although it most likely will not make any difference to the scouting used by the club you never know who is reading the board (in Nicko and Roberto Policiano we already have two sports journalists and also John Williams allegedley reads the board). Another thing is I for one (and I am sure many others on this board) am glad that other members of this board feel compelled to offer suggestions and those who are interested are more likely to contribute interesting points making for a more interesting read.

Anyway rant over
