Silencio Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Bresciano isn't much cop IMO. A few years past it and one of those that everyone has been looked at but no one has ever taken the plunge for. I hope we can do better than that. Anyway, Pedersen will be free so how can we swap?

Sparky Marky Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 If having him here could somehow help Grella stay fit I'd be all for it, he's our best CM by far. Don't think I've seen a more stupid statement in years.....
47er Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Please---not another ageing,fading "star" looking for one last big pay-out.
Shabani Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 We should move heaven and earth to sign Jamie O'Hara he's everything we need in a player
T4E Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Agreed, Spurs would probably loan again as well, which would be perfect for us.
Hughesy Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 He also upset fat Arry the other day by saing he hoped Fulham won the QF so that he could play at Wembley in the Semi....
J*B Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 However a loan starts an entirely new problem, this time next year, when O'Hara puts in another good quality season and Spurs eventually deem him squad-worthy, what on earth are we going to do then? We need long-term, thought about signings. A 12 month loan deal does nothing but hide the fact that we're short on quality in midfield.
S15 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 it can't be a swap as pedersen is free. it says.. Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is keen to take Mark Bresciano in the other direction. tcj_jones Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Agreed, Spurs would probably loan again as well, which would be perfect for us. I disagree. I think O'Hara has done more than enough at Pompey to justify a club spending money to bring him in on a permanent basis. I can see a number of clubs being interested as well. Also, we should remember that he belongs to Spurs, and they will demand stupid money. I don't think we can afford him.

Nothing is long term in football anymore, except trying to stay afloat financially. Remember RSC, Bellamy, Bentley etc?
J*B Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 12 months is better than 0 months, is it not? Nothing is long term in football anymore, except trying to stay afloat financially. Remember RSC, Bellamy, Bentley etc? RSC, Bellamy and Bentley where all our decisions to sell. Be it us agreeing to put a clause in their contract, or us agreeing to sell to another club for a price. O'Hara on a 12 month loan would do NOTHING for us, apart from give us a short term fix for a long term problem. I'd much rather his wages, (remember, he's on a brand new spurs contract.. 30k? 40k?) be invested in another player, be it their wages or towards their transfer fee.
BRFC1995 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Hasn't he just signed a new deal with Spurs? not a footbaling reason to not want a player here but anyone earning his wages and settling down to marry danielle lloyd must be insane.....his head can't be right. In his situation thats the best he thinks he can do for himself a self confessed leech and oxygen thief. I'd hate to think even a fraction of my hard earned spent getting in the ground would go in anyway to funding the deluded lifestyle of that dopey bint.
RoyRover Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 We should move heaven and earth to sign Jamie O'Hara he's everything we need in a player I couldn't agree more. He's a player that really could make a difference to us. I also think that Tottenham would sell, at the right price. Which would probably be the stumbling block.

If a player wants out it makes little sense to keep him at the club against his wishes. If you call that 'our decision' then so be it, but I think you're underestimating agent and player power. I'm not saying a 12 month loan is ideal, but we have totally different views on the game it seems. There's no guarantee that we have money enough for a quality midfielder when it seems obvious that a big portion of our summer budget will go towards buying another striker. Even if O'Hara is on big money at Spurs, if he plays well for us he might help us a place or two up the table, and that will make it worthwhile. Would you say no to a loan deal even if a player's ability is unquestioned (world beater)?
47er Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 If we bought Nugent, a large proportion of our transfer money would be left over to solve the mid-field problem.People scoff but we are about getting value for money. Who better? Sort out the midfield and the goals will come.If we don't buy him, Coyle will. Bresciano is someone we should have got 2 years ago instead of Grella.
67splitscreen Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 O'Hara has certainly urned (sp) his spurs this season, not that he will get a chance back at WHL (Modric Etc.) I've been impressed by him since his debut for spuds a few years back, he has gone on to make a very good player, he has everything in his locker. No doubting he would be a tremendous signing for our club and an investment to boot. ?? How much spuds would want for him, spuds bad to deal with but if the player wants away on a permanent deal, it would be a shame not to be in there with a shout, no doubt Woy will be in bidding.

Hughesy Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Any good..... Birmingham are ready to offer Matthew Taylor an escape route from Bolton by bidding £2m for the unhappy 28-year-old this summer. Full story: The Sun
herbergeehh Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Always rated Taylor, good left foot and all round play. Not good enough for any of the top teams, but a solid player- perhaps not really what we want should Pedersen leave though, and we've already got Olsson. .
LeftWinger Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 You've got to be kidding about Taylor. Bolton fans can't stand him.
G Somerset Rover Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Taylor is known as the MGP of Bolton (pre moving inside). Scores the odd fantastic goal but doesn't contribute much else. Stay clear.
