nicko Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Has Benitez been sacked Nicko? His enemies within Liverpool have now decided to get rid of him. I don't think they have sorted the money yet and that could yet be a big stumbling block. That club is in real turmoil.
ffan Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 The 11 o'clocker fancies an early night, so... PIQUIONNE...Fulham have agreed a fee with Lyon today of around £2 million...and seem happy to pay his wages...so they will get their man...sounds quite cheap to me...but Rovers were not keen to match the salary he wants which is about £40,000-a-week. Dear lord. You fellas honestly don't realise how lucky you are.
Iceman Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I feel sick, Benjani or Beattie to Rovers, and Boselli to Wigan. Wtf!
bluebruce Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Dear lord. You fellas honestly don't realise how lucky you are. I certainly do. I wouldn't have paid more than half that fee and wages. Now we just need some other idiots to sign Beattie and Benjani...
John Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Boselli's record looks decent in South America, obvious risk attached he might not settle - not seen much of him play to be fair...
Fylde Coast Fan Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I feel sick, Benjani or Beattie to Rovers, and Boselli to Wigan. Wtf! We don't have £5.7m to spend.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Boselli was getting real big praise from Tim Vickery on the radio today. Quite disappointing to miss out on the guy because he seems highly rated. Apart from the big fee, there is no point signing a poacher when we don't create enough chances.
DeadlyDirk Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Maybe we can tempt Shearer out of retirement for a swan song, has to be better than the muppets were linked with like Benjani! I haven't been this excited since we signed Nathan Blake!
Ozz Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Dindane is on. Manager wants him, player wants to come, Lens now being sensible on the fee. Just a matter of when it is done and obviously how much it costs. Rate that at 9 out of 10 on the scale of likelihood of going through.
Hi Mack Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 then Qatar came in with silly money! And i meanSilly money! Dindane will be on 100k + a week!
ewoodpo Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Does anybody know anything about this one ? Blackburn rovers watching ukrainian ace Yevhen Konoplyanka today against Norway
John Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 then Qatar came in with silly money! And i meanSilly money! Dindane will be on 100k + a week! Is Benjani still having his medical...??
Steve Moss Posted June 2, 2010 Author Posted June 2, 2010 His enemies within Liverpool have now decided to get rid of him. I don't think they have sorted the money yet and that could yet be a big stumbling block. That club is in real turmoil. Good. The more turmoil at Liverpool the better the odds that they won't improve and that we'll profit by it. Is Benjani still having his medical...?? It will be a long one. Seriously, if we are seeking to sign Benjani or Beattie as "cheap" alternatives, why not go for Jozy Altidore? He didn't set the PL on fire during his loan spell with Hull from Villareal, but he's strong, young and healthy, and his national team goal records is decent. I can't imagine he'd cost much. And with a record not far off Beattie's and Benjani's, he has room for improvement and a superior attitude. Just my two cents on one possible cheap option, any similar young national team player would do also.
bluebruce Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 In fairness Ozzie, he left a ten percent margin of error and can't be held responsible if a deal collapses. Dindane had a medical ffs!
Fife Rover Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Havering? Is that a strange Scottish habit you've picked up Fife? Careful you don't go native. Can't remember Benjani scoring against us, don't think he was there for that long actually. Maybe you're thinking of Lua Lua? Or Kanu, he never seems to score against other teams but notches against us no matter who he's playing for. Yes you could well be right Neil; it is a damned nuisance this getting old. Oh yes and havering simply means talking rubbish, so you could be right on that score as well.
67splitscreen Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Benjani had three assists for City against us. Played instead of Robinho. Maybe Sam is thinking more of a wide man in a three.
Exiled_Rover Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Good. The more turmoil at Liverpool the better the odds that they won't improve and that we'll profit by it. It will be a long one. Just my two cents on one possible cheap option, any similar young national team player would do also. He cost Villarreal $10m two years ago. Where's Joe Cole going, Nicko, any idea? I'd bet money on Spurs. He seems like a Laaandon boy.
47er Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 well if dunny get his way beattie would be here I wondered at the time if Dunn would have made that statement if Beattie wasn't coming to Ewood.
Hughesy Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I trust Sam, he has done well so far in past transfer windows - so lets just wait & See what happens eh! 2 positive signs already this summer....Reid finally off the wage Bill, another crock (Grella) could soon follow.
beerwins Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I trust Sam, he has done well so far in past transfer windows - so lets just wait & See what happens eh! 2 positive signs already this summer....Reid finally off the wage Bill, another crock (Grella) could soon follow. I see where you are coming from with the out goings of players but Reid's contract was ending anyway and Grella is still here As for previous windows well I cant help but think that if we didnt have four players who play the right back posisition we might have had some more to spend on a striker and not end up with the prem deadwood. Now if Sam could shift Jacobson or Chimbonda and Grella and bring us Guti and a decent striker he would have done well. But as it seems we are going to be stuck with either of those previously linked I would rather we got Beattie than Benjani then at least we have a striker that can actually hold up the ball for Sams long game, just dont see where Benjani fits in he is just another Roberts.
Brfcrule1 Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I agree with the sentiments of Iceman Beattie & Benjani I feel sick. But if I was to choose between either would rather have Beattie than Benjani. At least he has a better idea of where the goal is than Benjani cows a*** & banjo spring to mind. Beattie we might have to pay a small fee of 2M but I think would work better with Kalinic.
Silencio Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Boselli was getting real big praise from Tim Vickery on the radio today. Quite disappointing to miss out on the guy because he seems highly rated. Apart from the big fee, there is no point signing a poacher when we don't create enough chances. That's strange because I have heard him say countless times that while he he is a good finisher, he offers nothing else and could flop in the PL...
