[Archived] Potential Summer Transfers (2010)

You need to take them blue and white glasses off, I lived on Ewood for 12 years all I saw was rats on the backstreet .

Theres rats everywhere, choose any place, what with the river running through Ewood and the canal closeby aided by several takeaways your bound to see the odd one, nothing new there Ewoodpo.

As as ex-resident of Oakdale, its a bit different to Nuttall Street! Talking of "Ewoods environment" open your mind to The City Ground, Nottingham - different gravy ;)

Unfortunately never been, but I take your word for it.

Question is does Nottingham Forest have more pulling power to a professional footballer than Rovers.

Go on nicko - give us the low down for all then....keeps things interesting!!

Maybe so but if its anything like other years then fans from all over pop up asking questions constantly trying to get info about their club.

Quiet at the Rovers end...pretty noisy elsewhere...

Thanks Nicko, just been to a meeting to try to secure a contract. Not knowing the man was a enthusiastic wine drinker - after office hours (in his words) who wanted me to sample this and that wine. I can go to bed knowing tha Rovers news is the same as is was last night.

I did not know Hardys did so many wines

At this moment in time no, However if they were to come with their billionaire owner probably. I have spent time in Nottingham nice place a lot happening.

JW repeats that we are a trading club, and that the Benni money and the 10th place finish has given us a bit of a transfer budget. http://www.premierleague.com/page/Headlines/0,,12306~2064229,00.html

Steve Kean is not interested in leaving the Rovers. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/k/kilmarnock/8721486.stm

Galastray is looking at Basturk (which I hope doesn't foul the Grella deal). http://www.tribalfootball.com/galatasaray-eyeing-blackurn-midfielder-basturk-882431

Lewandowski is looking less likely for Dortmund and Sam is patiently waiting for the Pole's club to reduce their 4.5 million transfer demand. http://www.clubcall.com/blackburn-rovers/rovers-bide-their-time-1066942.html

All in all, reassuring that the finances are in order and that neither Sam nor JW will be be stampeded in making hasty decisions.

It's not the likes of Forest we should be comparing against, look at Fulham, Newcastle, West Ham & Everton, They all have the bright lights of the big city with the nightlife and the classy restaurants. We've got the Postal order and Tasty Spot.

I appreciate that Oakdale and Fernhurst Farm are nice developments, but gone are the days of players living on normal housing estates as they did on mine when I was a child.

This is nothing personal JAL, I love Blackburn and it is my home and always will be. What I am saying is that with our limited funds combined with the pulling power of our town it makes it more difficult than some of our competitors to attract players.

Why bang on about Blackburn and the surrounding areas when 95% of our players live over in the manchester/ bolton way anyway! I dont buy this nonesense that Blackburn the area will put players off - its just the club they play for, not the place they live in!!

As for the Pole, seems to me like our club is being very sensible as usual - not jumping in and paying over the odds, yet the proposed deal with Dortmund still hasnt been completed....Bizarre!

That's your credibilty completely shot to pieces then...

Mokoena got stuck in and wasnt too bad at defending - he also hit that stunning goal at ewood.

Keeeef just points & runs like a girl!

Anyway lets not turn this thread into the Keeeeeef debate again!

Personally I'm with CrazyIvan...Mokoena is a charlatan and has somehow hoodwinked people into believing he's a footballer...he's not,he's an athlete who can barely kick a ball straight-not surprising given that his composure on the ball is non-existent.

For all his limitations I'd have Andrews any day..

I was a fan of mokoena, on his day he could be solid as a rock, problem is that day wasn't often enough.

His performances in the FA cup semi final and final were great and he was vital for us in his first season

Wolves are looking to buy Mokoena- says it al about Mick's sense.

Also says a little about Wolves ambition, they also paid 6.5m for a striker today, how the hell can they pay that and we can't find 4m :(
