[Archived] Potential Summer Transfers (2010)

Recommended Posts

I´ve seen Pedersen twice and he is a real prospect. He is made to play in PL. I´d take him anytime rather than Lewandowski. Lower price and lower risk. Go for him Sam!

After seeing yesterdays game I totally agree with you. He goes into every challenge 110%. Not afraid to give or take a knock or two.

Might get a bit hot headed now and again.

To be fair West Ham do have a few players who would improve our squad - Parker or Noble would add something to the midfield and that Cole lad up front seems a bit better than Roberts.

And we do have plenty of defenders...

Of course they'd have to pay us enough to cover the wages of whoever they give us in part exchange...

I don't want to see Samba go, but 2 of the three players above and enough cash to cover a seasons wages might see us consider it.

hmm.

Oddly I can't see the Porn Barons going for that.

Where? :(

Though I would love to know the actual figures - I respect the fact that it would be madness for the club to disclose if it had more money for transfer dealings than the usual tuppence.

However - there is something wrong when the manager says (in the run up to the end of the season) that every additional place meant more money for transfers - that we had the Benni money etc etc. I think JW and SA need to talk more. It doesn't bode well when JW says we budget for 13th - finish 3 places higher - but have no additional money - the accountants can't be doing a good job.

As well as the transfer fee - we also saved Benni's wages for 1/2 a season - and effectively continue to do while no purchase for a replacement goes through.

I hope that the club have more money than they are saying - and that this is all a gambit to get players for the best price. If not - I fear for the future of the club - as we won't be in a position to reject decent offers for any of our better players (no matter what JW says) - with the obvious result being eventual relegation.

Where has it gone is the question....

2 places - Salgados wages (not budgetted for - the board backed Sam and it worked) & player bonuses for finishing top 10 (as most have wrote into their contracts for higher finishes)

So potentially we would have been better off financially if we had finished 11th?

Why would we need Upson when we would still have Givet, Jones Hanley and Nelsen? Not that I take this story seriously anyway.

Hanley has made ONE appearance and Jones could still become the next Marlon Broomes. What then?

How do you know that? Cause JW clearly said the Benni money and finishing higher up the league will go to the transfer pot, didnt he?

I cant say how - but I do know that is the case. I think he said if we held our position then it would gaurantee the benni money wasnt touched.

Interesting question - not quite sure how the £800k placing money would have set up against the bonus money - possibly better off but as I dont know the amounts im not sure.

Broomes was never as good as Jones and you haven't forgotten The Admiral and Givet. In any case I don't want us to sell Samba so there's another one!

You can't sell our prize centre-back without replacing him. The squad will be much weaker if we're relying on the Givet, two youth teamers, and Nelsen - who isn't getting any younger.

Agree totally - SAMBA is our BEST defender!

So don't sell him!

At some point we need to sell Samba. I'm not saying it should be this season, but he's 26 now and if we're to get the best transfer fee for him it should be in the next couple of seasons. £15m+ will always be worth more to us than an admittedly excellent centre back.

Yes please, Guti and Petrov? Cant see both at Rovers, but would be very good signings. Add Lewandowski or maybe Janko, and we will be looking good

It's only a matter of time, but I'm in no rush to sell Samba. Just debunking your argument. Can't see him going to the Whammers, though.

The argument was that we should be happy to sell him so long as we got Parker and Upson in his place. I'm not so debunk that.

i'd be surprised with it to. Not because he would not move to us, of course he would ;) , but because there has been not speculation about this whatsoever. I guess we will wait and see.

Why am I not surprised with the Cockney arrogance, yup I'm sure he would love the chance to jump ship from an exciting squad with potential to a team that only just outdid the dingles. I mean their new manager is soooo charasmatic.

Its gotta be true, Wiki says:

West Ham United

Way back in June 2010, Christopher Samba joined West Ham United in a deal beleived to be negotiated between the clubs as part of Michael Carrick's transfer from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspurs.

Thats clearly true :wstu:

Here is some goals from Pedersen...Marcus that is.

Some real quality strikes in that vid, no matter what the level of football, he certainly knows where the net is, never missed one attempt at goal. ;)

Has he been linked to other clubs?.

Edit.

kelbo.

I was going to mention Shearer but ............ ????? I do agree at their ages he does have similarities.
