CrazyIvan Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Because I can only judge a player when he is wearing blue and white? Can't judge him having seen him probably 5 times this season for Portsmouth (matches in full) and a good 30-40 times playing in France? HAVE WE BOUGHT HIM YET?

philipl Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 HAVE WE BOUGHT HIM YET? Think it is pretty close. Unlike Hughes who apart from Rigters hardly brought in any duds, Sam does have a track record of picking up duds from time to time. The good news is his percentage success rate at Rovers thus far is better than he managed at Bolton and much better than at Newcastle.

Can't judge him having seen him probably 5 times this season for Portsmouth (matches in full) and a good 30-40 times playing in France? For somebody who has seen quite a bit of him, i can tell you now he aint a bad player. In fact Dindane use to play ahead of Kalou, when they played for Ivory Coast. Don't be daft,CI. They'll all have played him on Football Manager, so they know what they're talking about ... Mr Roversmum rates him, and he's never forgiven JW for not signing Bobby Zamora Is Mr Mum, still upset over us not signing Zidane? Lol
Eddie Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Frankly, I trust Big Sam's judgement over yours anyway. When it comes to players coming out of Ligue 1 I have to say that my record is pretty decent.
philipl Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Berner was hardly awesome either. You read too much Rover 6... Berner did a solid job when required and has been more than decent for Leicester.

I love it when people re-write history...Hughes bought resonably well but he was also responsible for bringing in that non-footballer Mokoena and initially preferring him in the first XI over Nelsen,so don't make him out to be the messiah ffs.... You read too much Rover 6... Berner did a solid job when required and has been more than decent for Leicester. Now I'm wondering if your medication is overdue..Berner decent.I think not.
Silencio Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Eddie, you didn't answer my question the other day, would you still "honestly rather have Ince in charge than Allardyce?"
47er Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 When it comes to players coming out of Ligue 1 I have to say that my record is pretty decent. I think I'm wonderful too!
Eddie Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Eddie, you didn't answer my question the other day, would you still "honestly rather have Ince in charge than Allardyce?" I did answer it actually; See the Allardyce topic. I think I'm wonderful too! I'm not saying it's anything amazing, but over the years I've not been very wrong often, so when it comes to trusting judgement I think I've done enough to trust myself. It's fairly easy to judge how players will adapt to the premier league from Ligue 1, so all it requires is that you watch a lot of both leagues.
MeanGreenMachine Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 HAVE WE BOUGHT HIM YET? Aint this the Potential signings thread or have i missed somthing? And like Eddie says, we can only judge a player if he is playing for us?
neekoy Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Simon Vukcevic Paolo Guerrero Fabio Simplicio Hamit Altintop Francisco Yeste Giovanni Pasquale Mark Bresciano and I think possibly Juliano Belletti to ease our concerns of depth at right back.
Steve Moss Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 We're allegedly watching Bruno Pereirinha. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Bolton-lead-Blackburn-and-Fulham-in-the-race-for-Portuguese-Under-21-star-article381625.html And also preparing for a double swoop of Dindane and Cacau: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-gossip-Blackburn-Rovers-boss-Sam-Allardyce-preparing-for-double-transfer-swoop-article381575.html

Im not sure, if you actually watched that season, when Mokoena was brought in. A non footballer yes, but did a solid job in front of the back 4. When Hughes brought him into the 1st team, he did what was expected of him. Moko did a much better job, than Grabbi did in the 1st season ffs. When the formation changed, thats when it was the end for the Axe.
Stuart Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Aint this the Potential signings thread or have i missed somthing? And like Eddie says, we can only judge a player if he is playing for us? C'mon MGM, this is Blackburn Rovers. It's only once we've signed a player that we really start to talk about how bad he is...!
Iceman Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 We're allegedly watching Bruno Pereirinha. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Bolton-lead-Blackburn-and-Fulham-in-the-race-for-Portuguese-Under-21-star-article381625.html And also preparing for a double swoop of Dindane and Cacau: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-gossip-Blackburn-Rovers-boss-Sam-Allardyce-preparing-for-double-transfer-swoop-article381575.html I dont mind us going for 2 strikers, but it still does not solve the midfield problem. We still lacking down the right, with a proper winger needed. As i said before, despite his attitude i would like us to have a look at Pennant. He is a natural right winger, and if we could add Ledley or O Hara, then we could have no problems next season.
CrazyIvan Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Aint this the Potential signings thread or have i missed somthing? And like Eddie says, we can only judge a player if he is playing for us? My point is that so many people are jumping off the deep end regarding Dindane and we haven't signed him. The RUMOUR is we will sign him, comment on the rumour but don't jump all over the place like some are just because we're linked with a player. People should realise we are linked with so many players and very rarely are the links actually right. Also, I'll judge Dindane when I see him play in front of me. And I still trust Big Sam more than Eddie.
Guest roverspogges Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 It's funny seeing some of the posters on here putting out names like pennant and o'hara etc. I've got news for you lads and ladies WE WONT GET THEM the best we can hope for is a couple of unknown bargain signings who turn out to be decent like nzonzi. Let's not kid ourselves chaps you should all know better by now
roversmad95 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 This all makes me laugh a bit. 'Dindane is poo', 'Dindane is useless', 'Dindane isn't worth 2 million' etc etc... I think I'll wait until he turns up, IF he turns up, and watch him play then judge. IF we buy him, Big Sam will have decided he is good enough at the price. We shall see A.) IF he turns up and B.) when we actually get to see him, shan't we? well said....
nicko Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 There's quite a bit of interesting news buzzing about transfer-target-wise [is that a word?] So I think it is only fair that there will be an 11 o'clocker tonight. News on Dindane and two other players who have been watched - intriguing stuff.

Amo Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Sounds promising. Would those other two be Cacau and Pereirinha? I think that's kinda the point of the 11 o'clocker - to find out.
