RoversSG Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Any one see Guti today? Don't think he had an incomplete pass. Yep, i was quite impressed with him. Madrid looks much sharper after he came on. In fact, the commentator almost had an orgasm when he made that slide rule pass with his first touch

alexanders Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I was very impressed with Guti and he seemed like just the player we need in the hole behind the striker. He unlocked the Barca defense several times with brilliant passing.
HemelRover Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I was very impressed with Guti and he seemed like just the player we need in the hole behind the striker. He unlocked the Barca defense several times with brilliant passing. Watch him in any other game than El Clasico. Has a wonderful range of passing but the only reason he actually put any effort in was it was against Barca. Guti will infuriate more people than Gamst and Diouf combined.
hollowsr Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 News of the lies linking us with Ben Haim! £40,000 a week, not a chance in hell, no where near the player he was at Bolton, we don't even need him!
Iceman Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Agree. That is one area, we don't need to be looking at. It will be a huge (Please don't use that word again) up, if Sam wastes money on a defender.
chaddyrovers Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Be linked with Pennant today in the Sunday People. Would be a good signing. Also says that Big Sam still wants Dindane.
philipl Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I think Sam has too high opinion of his managing bad boys if Smith and Barton at Newcastle are any guide. Diouf and Pennant in the same squad?- shudder.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I wouldn't have Ben Haim on a free. Hope this rumour isn't right. He's worse than Darren Peacock in my opinion.
Amo Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I wouldn't have Ben Haim on a free. Hope this rumour isn't right. He's worse than Darren Peacock in my opinion. How about Liam Ridgewell? Isn't he available on a free this year? Nelsen has seen better days and Samba won't be around much longer, which only leaves Givet and the inexperienced Jones.
The Rover of Finland Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Nicko, do you know something more about Greek trialist? Just checked his Wiki and we could sign him free. He is probably talented if two Greek giants are after him. Rovers are sending scouts to see him in action today. Ridgewell is a very good defender and Brum will do everything to keep him. I can´t see him coming here because we don´t need a defender and he probably demands huge wage raise. Huge no for Ben Haim from here!

He has been over and he is playing for his team today - when another club will be watching him. I have no idea about his quality or price.

Apparently the Brum boys are on minimal wages, so I can't imagine they'd hold us to ransom.
LeChuck Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Ben Haim is lazy journalism, if there is one area we don't need a single player it is centre back. Ridgewell would be a decent signing, but don't we already have one centre back who can play out of position at left back? I know Ridgewell has had a decent season there, but if we're going to bring in someone I'd rather we had a specialist. Pennant, although risky, I'd be happy with. I'm quite excited at the thought of having Olsson on one side and him on the other. We'd have pace on both sides after about seven years of having none on either.
S15 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I was very impressed with Guti and he seemed like just the player we need in the hole behind the striker. He unlocked the Barca defense several times with brilliant passing. Hughesy says he's passed it, so forget it.
Amo Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Diouf and Pennant in the same squad?- shudder. This town isn't big enough for the both of them. One can run with the ball, the other can't. I know who I'd pick!
DeadlyDirk Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 News of the lies linking us with Ben Haim! £40,000 a week, not a chance in hell, no where near the player he was at Bolton, we don't even need him! I agree that I can't see that happening, the only thing that plays on my mind is that he's versatile across the back four (Crap at CB and crapper at FB) which is something Sam might be attracted too. With Samba, Nelsen, Jones and Givet though we don't need him. I guess if it's a replacement for Khiza then it's an okay deal depending on the wage.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I think with the impressive performances of Phil Jones this season, we don't need a replacement for Khizanishvilli. No point bringing in players which will increase the wage bill but not improve the squad.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Please don't sign Dindane. He makes Jason Roberts' finishing ability seem on par with Messi
martmitch Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Think he's played quite well myself, certainly an upgrade from Roberts!
Dunnfc Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Jermaine Beckford anyone? yes i know hes an ass but the boys a finisher and thats natural ability and hes on a free in the summer got to be worth a gamble, good service and he would bag us goals, maybe the striker we've been missing?

We might need to beef up some areas first, if he requires good service.
Iceman Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Please don't sign Dindane. He makes Jason Roberts' finishing ability seem on par with Messi Certainly think, Dindane can play down the right wing tbh. He aint that bad a player, and certainly better than Roberts. Boateng looks interesting, but another player that drifts in and out of a game too much. Dindane and O Hara would be good additions.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I'd personally rather have a proper right winger than a forward playing as a right winger. I agree about O'Hara though. He is a superb player and would improve our midfield without doubt but I can't see him leaving Spurs for anything but big bucks.

Would you feel better Tim, if i told you that Dindane mostly played as a right winger for Ivory Coast?
