sparkspakespoke Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I'm sorry but not as a striker he won't, he bottles it every time he gets into the box. For me he could be converted into a very good creative CM. I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn up down the road some time next season. Sorry but Nicko is right. He is just lacking a bit of belief. he will go on to be a good player. He leads the line well and once his confidence is up the goals will come.

CrazyIvan Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Sorry but Nicko is right. He is just lacking a bit of belief. he will go on to be a good player. He leads the line well and once his confidence is up the goals will come. I agree. He is a confidence player, we just haven't been able (or probably willing) to play him as often as he needs. Buy him on the cheap and loan him out to a good Championship side would be a decent shout but I don't think we can afford to do that.
LeChuck Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Grella and Pedersen out, O'Hara and Ledley in. Job's a good 'un.
modes98 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Sign Aron Gunnarson from Coventry then! I used to really like him but his attitude has hit hard this season. Thought he was all that and starting making demands. My friend told me some other issues with him as well and showed me a nice picture taken on a night out the day before a game.

Roberto Policano Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 That Lewandowski fella Rovers are meant to be interested in signing has had his dad and agent talking to Genoa this week. Transfer fee around £4.5 million pounds.
MarkBRFC71 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Who you talking about Emerton?? At least Bert put some effort in - it just wasn't very effective. Pedersen was basically a lazy tw*t.

How do you know he is a 'confidence player when no one has ever seen him play 'with confidence'.
brian_gallagher85 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 It's nothing to do with confidence, I've discovered that he suffers from
beerwins Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 It's nothing to do with confidence, I've discovered that he suffers from That is uncanny only this afternoon I stumbled across the exact same video myself, only just recovering from watching it the first time
tcj_jones Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Di Santo was a very shrewd signing. He was a shrewd signing and did a decent job for us, but you really were making him out to be a world beater when he signed.

Kelbo Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I was watching the Wigan Pompey game on here tonight, tell you what, Melchiot never gave one ball away, his ball retention was excellent and always available, good player!! I now see why Sam plays the so called percentage game, by clever defending, Pompy hardly allowed Wigan into the box and as Wigan are a passing side, were restricted to almost everything fom long range, Sams style to get the ball into the box means the ball is sure to drop a few times in the game and hopefully at least one will be put away!! Havent seen the stats but my guess is Wigan would have had 70% of the play!! Point being here, Melchiot may be worth a gamble on for next season!!
Kelbo Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Woohoo an ageing right back He seemed to be playing a midfield role most things came through him and did it so well!! tell you what, he is a million times the player Andrews is! And twice as quick, however old he may be!!
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Im sorry but Bert has been very poor this season I actually thought that Bert had a good start to the season - following his injury he has been very poor - even though I think he is being played in possibly his best position on the right side of a three man central midfield. Maybe his injury is still bothering him - or maybe he now has one eye on the world cup. He must be a certainty for the Australia squad - so why over risk injury ?
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 When does Bert's contract run out, 2012? Personally I'd keep him for another season. He wouldn't be the first player to struggle to find form after an injury and he has been a good servant to the club.

May be wrong, but his legs look to have gone!! How old is he, speaking to Lucas Neills mate in Aus, Lucash's legs have gone too and Aus will struggle this time
tcj_jones Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Before his injury he was one of our key players and most consistent performers, I'm sure he'll get his form back.
LeChuck Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 It's no coincidence that his form has dropped now he's playing on the wing again. It's Bert mk 1 all over again. If we're going to have Emerton in the squad then we should flog a couple of right backs and have him play there or central midfield, or just as cover both, plus the wing in emergencies. Bert mk 2 and Bert mk 3 are good players, Bert mk 1 is not. I'm disappointed he hasn't been given a proper try in central midfield, he has looked good in that position previously.
tcj_jones Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 My memory's never been a strong point, but didn't Emerton play consistently well for a prolonged period on the right wing before his injury? That said, he'd serve us much better in his strongest position, which is definitely right back, and he's certainly be better than Andrews in the centre.
Iceman Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Akos Buzsaky would be a good signing i think. just been watching some championship highlights, and he looks a good player. Him and Ledley im sure would be good additions, and not expensive either...
Majiball Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Buzsaky is not good enough, Ledley doesn't exactly inspire either. Both are good championship players, bit like Ebanks-Blake.
