[Archived] Potential Summer Transfers (2010)

Two great piece's of news, thanks Nicko.

I hear Macheda is available for loan next season, what would people think about a loan move for the lad???

Scored 2 good goals and people think he's the new Ronaldo. I wouldn't be too bothered either way if I'm honest.

He certainly didn't impress at Ewood last weekend.

Fair do's. I thought he'd be quite a good option from the bench when we need a second striker.

super_arran Macheda's been making headlines since the lad was 14 he's hardly a new name and no-ones hailing him the new Ronaldo, since he doesn't even play the same position. But he does look like he will develop into a player, he has great knack of being in the right place at the right time.

I worry that we will end up with 4 strikers who are all very similar, competing for one spot which just doesn't really make sense to me.

Macheda - frustrating & not ready - so no thanks, its just like Di Santo all over again.

Klasnic - doesnt seem to be getting a chance at Bolton, so would be good if we showed an interest...he knows where the goal is.

Fletcher - not bad, but im sure we could do better!

Macheda would be a good loan signing, he could be a good impact substitute as he's already shown on a number of occassions at Man Utd.

He's obviously not a starter, and this could usually pose a problem when trying to loan someone (nicko said we got Di Santo on the promise he'd get regular games), but Sam's relationship with RFW could counter that.

We are going to need a striker in the squad in who will be happy playing from the bench in the majority of games. Finding a balance between someone who is happy to do that whilst being good enough will be incredibly difficult, we struggle to keep someone of Roberts' ability happy. A young loan signing might possibly be the only way of getting this type of player. Either that or a Kevin Phillips type coming towards the end of their career.

I've liked the look of Klasnic when I've seen him certainly knows where the goal is.

Good shout. I've always been a fan of Klasnic. I think he is a really good player and is a great finisher. I'm surprised that he has had so little game time under Coyle. Nantes are not going to be promoted back into Ligue 1, so they could be persuaded to sell him. People have been suggesting Macheda as a possible loan signing. I would like to add Carlos Vela to that list of promising youngsters who we could look to loan.

What I can't understand is that if he doesn't get a chance at Bolton how does that make him good enough for us? I appreciate Davies is Bolton's first choice but surely he'd get a look in if he was any good?

I would like us to go for Fletcher, he would give us another dimension and has already proven that he can score goals in a poor team.

I wouldn't like to see us spend any more than the £3m he cost them though.

That would be fine by me, I don't care who he's played for before if it strengthens our attack. burnley wouldn't be in much of a position to demand too much when you look at the financial state they are in. They will be forced to sell major players and as we know too well if a player wants to leave you've got to take what you can.

For that much I'd rather have Jamie O'Hara who's proved himself in the Premier League to be a very good player. He's been head and shoulders above the rest of the players at Fratton this season. It's actually got to the point where I get annoyed with reading about him all the time in the local papers :D

For that money - yes, but I'd be surprised if Taarabt isn't sold for half of that. Spurs will possibly look to loan him out again.

As for that news, if Lens are going to play hard ball, then screw it. Like I said, his pace would be an asset, but he's almost 30 now. Surely the money Lens are looking for would be better invested into a prospective player.

i think fletcher is a good player, in hindsight i wished we'd have took a chance on him before he went to burnley , but he cost them £3m and he's scored 12 goals this year 8 in the league which is a very good return for a poor side and i dont think we have the money they will want for him and even if we did i wouldnt feel comfortable handing it over to that lot!

I would rather have Vela any day! He looks quality and just needs a chance to prove himself...he also has composure when through on goal, something we lack!

He was doing well - but then he got a knock, Coyle came in & he hasnt really played much since!

9 starts (subbed off in 8), on as sub in 14 - 6 goals. In the sub appearances he hasnt been getting many minutes either...

Kevin Kuranyi has been offer a contract by three clubs. just wonder if maybe Big Sam has have him a contract at rovers. i know he will want big wages but is a top player. You never know with Big Sam, look at what he did at Bolton with Anelka, Youri Djoraff and jay-jay.

I've just spoken to my notlob supporting collegue, he says Klasnic is a very good player and he'd pick him week in week out but he can't manage a full game due to him only having one kidney. Megson explained this in post match interviews and so has Coyle.

There could be a 12 o'clocker tonight - depending on the traffic on the M62 back from Huddersfield.

I hear there is now a number one striker target and there has been 'a major advance' on that front in the past few days.

It will be interesting to see whether it is an old target or a new one.

I would love to see Kevin Kuryani at the club- 28 years old, a proven goal scorer and a free transfer. Rumours that he wanted £70K a week but RSC was rumoured to be on about £65K a week so could be done especially without a fee.

I got some good inside info on this one, it's Dino Baggio, you heard it here first.

Seriously though I'm glad Sam and the team seem to be working early on getting a striker in, it makes a lot of sense for us and its also refreshing that we don't seem to be waiting to sell someone before bringing players in.
