chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Marc Janko, Zigic, Mbokani would be a top target. It could be somebody we never heard off. maybe somebody from Scandianva or eastern europe. Just have to wait till 11pm now.

67splitscreen Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 The conspiracy theory ............ Salgado missing from the awards night, not the type to miss something like that I would have thought, the link to Raul breaking today, Salgado baby sitting Raul maybe in a hotel near you.
JamieUK Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 The conspiracy theory ............ Salgado missing from the awards night, not the type to miss something like that I would have thought, the link to Raul breaking today, Salgado baby sitting Raul maybe in a hotel near you. to continue the theory - he wasnt involved in the 18 who played Almeria last night... Cant see it myself although would be impressed if it was true...
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Raul trained at real madrid training ground this morning. my source is the real madrid offical website. surely if he was going to sign for us then he wouldnt be training today. http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satellite/en/1193040487675/1330002956686/noticia/Noticia/Mixing_it_up.htm
daveoftherovers Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Nicko tonight was goin to be the first "early night" for me and the wife since the birth of our daughter (she's stayin with grandparents) i know you cannot say who yet but ......is it worth stayin up for Advice from my dad on hitting 40 was numerous, but top of the list was: NEVER (EVER) waste a "Wood" Put it this way, BS would have to found a time machine and brought us shearer back at 23 years of age for me to pass up a shag...
The Rover of Finland Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 It can´t be Raul. Not just because he is a Real Madrid and Spain legend. Not because we can´t pay him enough. Not because Rovers is too small club for him. He can´t join Rovers because no. 7 is taken by Emo.

So training at Madrid wont change a thing, until the end of the season
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Nicko is coming back from huddersfield. wonder if it is Rhodes from huddersfield, scores alot of goals this season.
niggit Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I think it could be a match report for the paper, not really a scout for rovers is he.
sparky12 Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I think it could be a match report for the paper, not really a scout for rovers is he. no but he is a football journalist whos job is to report on these sort of things
Iceman Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Is it Luca Toni? Nicko, since i broke the Luca Toni rumour, i think i have exclusive rights to that 1.
Iceman Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 There could be a 12 o'clocker tonight - depending on the traffic on the M62 back from Huddersfield. I hear there is now a number one striker target and there has been 'a major advance' on that front in the past few days. It will be 1am here Nicko, it better be worth me staying up until that time.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 It's probably Dindane. Something like we have caved in to Lens's price demands after Baron Greenback got involved.
nicko Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Shockeed to find there is electricity and a phone line in Yarkshire...so a wee bonus for you. The top target is Robert Lewandowski. I understand that an approach has now been made to find out if he will come. Borussia Dortmund seem to be the opposition. The price may be in the £5 - 6 million range but that is not too bad staggered over a few years. I think the plan is to see if Rovers can get this guy before anything else. If you get him at the right price then Dindane could also come in later. This one seems to be the priority now - and for the time being. I don't know much about the chap, but his profile and goals record looks good and he has been watched several times. And if the worst comes to the worst he could also be quite handy if there is a problem with the plumbing. This comes instead of the 12 o'clocker...enjoy.

Thanks Nicko, i thought it was him (as I said before) Anything in the Raul rumours
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2010 Backroom Posted April 16, 2010 Pretty much what I expected, someone mentioned that he was talking to someone last week is that what has brought it forward. I havn't seen much of him myself but I hear he's a good un, I think most would be happy with us going for him
American Rover12 Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 27 goals in 52 over two seasons for a young up and coming striker. Okay, not terrible. I can see it working out for us.
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Some video clips of Robert Lewandowski on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7rjRUN8mCI looks a good player

Not bad, I feared the Benjani story may have reared it's ugly head again
The Rover of Finland Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Thanks Nicko. Never seen him either but Rovers scouts has. There is re-sale value too. Good to hear Rovers are doing business early. Let´s hope there will be funds for midfield too. I appriciate early update, thanks.
Amo Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I think AJW will be the most grateful for this early announcement.
The Rover of Finland Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Benjani was my fear too. Actually I´m quite sure he will be one of strikers next season.
BuckyRover Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 He's a top football manager player. That's good enough for me. Very excited, I expect him to be a belter.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 On paper he would be a good signing as he is young, potential re-sale value and has a good goalscoring record. How succesful he would be if he comes depends on where he will play, is there enough money to improve our midfield etc. I can't see Sam changing his system but looking at players like this gives me some hope. He isn't a winger, he isn't a 6 foot 5 targetman, he is a goalscorer. He could be a very good partner for Niko.
