Still think we need a good centre mid as much as another forward. We could sign as many strikers as we like, but if the service doesn't improve they wont score much. Jamie Ohara would be my no1 target for summer, he may compensate for Grellas lack of passing ability

Grella's lack of passing ability? Maybe we've been watching different games; but the Grella I've seen is one of the best passers of the ball we've got.

I can't see where people have got this "Grella is crap" from (might be an Ince thing). He might be injured a lot of the time but he is by no means crap.

IMO he's probably our best defensive midfielder.

Sounds like a good signing. But how are we going to accommodate two £6m, out-and-out strikers in the current formation?

We're meant to employ a front 3, so: Olsson wide left, Kalinic in the middle, Lewandowski wide right.

I agree entirely. If we are going to persist with one striker, then we need to create more chances for them than the one or two a game that we do now. Torres would struggle to get more than 10 in our team at present .... signing some creativity is key for us. Create chances and I think Niko is good enough to be honest ....

Yep, he holds the team together when he plays imo.

Is Lewandowski a 'wide-right' kind of player? It's totally different than playing as a proper, lead-the-line striker. I don't know enough about him tbh ....

Trouble is, he's not physically in tune with the premier league...no good playing a couple of games and then off for 3 months...

If the figure of £5-6 million for him is true, surely that would take up pretty much most our budget? Leaving peanuts aside to bring some creativity in and sort our midfield out.

I've only see bits of him but he looks like a frontman with a partner type of striker (like Niko) not a wing forward or lone striker.

Do you think Rovers are just going to hand over the full wedge ? Everyone knows fees are atggered over 2 or 3 years.

£5m is a drop in the ocean, even for Rovers coffers.

We most definitely have been watching different games then! Last week his passing success must have been about 50% at best! Doesn't even get around the pitch that well. Never seen him have a good game yet.

As for Ohara I think he would be a realistic target, although alot of clubs will be looking. I also hope we ditch the Dindane chase.

Proof will be in the pudding I suppose, let's see what we end up with.

TV money could make a difference, but if not, cannot see us spending much this summer.

At some point we have to spend money to improve the squad. Why not this summer?

He's not suppose to get around the pitch, he's a holding midfielder.

Do you expect mad runs and 40yard screamers from him?

His game is to break down attacks and spread the play and he does that very well.

Would you prefer Andrews over Grella?

I don't think we'd have a shot at o'Hara, 1. He'd be too expensive and 2. He'd want to up his game, can see him going to Villa, Everton, or stickin at spurs, somewhere like that.

P.s. Your last name isn't maxwell is it?

Lewandowski is an exciting prospect; Good goalscoring record , potential re-sale value and might fit nicely in with Niko on top. Maybe our fanbase in Poland will increase?

mate I've been follwoing Rovers since 97 when I saw 7-3 (I think) thrashing of Sheffield W. on Canal+ and ever since I've stuck with them during the good and bad. Always present on the board (not much of witer though) hey I even went with few guys to one of Sydney's pubs a few years back (living in Au and finding myself up at 2am watching games).

Lewandowski will be a blast he's very talented. He should only put on a few pounds of rock hard muscle and I see him being a top striker.

cheers

Grella 16 passes successful 12, 75% i think that is. ;)

Grella - best passer of a ball, you've got to be having one big laugh here super arran. I'm yet to see him play a slide rule ball into the feet of one of our strikers, seen plenty that have been intercepted, at the end of the hes shyte along with Andrews, squad players at best.

NZonzi is the main defensive midfielder at the club now, it just needs big Sam to find some players in the summer to provide that cutting edge to the team i.e goalscorers.

problem is N'zonzi can only pass the ball side ways or backwards. at least Grella attempts to play a forward ball. something may of our midfield can only dream of

N'Zonzi, although. He's decent; IMO he isn't good enough yet to be THE main central midfielder.

Watch Grella today and you'll see how he does his job effectively.

He's like a Roy keane type player, rough them up then spread the play.

Are Dortmund a good teams these days? I could see them appealing to him a bit. But we do have the advantage of being in a league that many want to test theirselves in

They could very easily qualify for next year's Champions League.

They have had a couple of bad seasons over the last years, but right now they're at 4th in the Bundesliga, and as you say, I imagine that would be quite tempting for the lad. Its not too far away from Polen either.

But I hope Sam and the club works hard to get him here. As you mention we do play in "the best league in the world" ;)

For an ambitious player there shouldn't be any difficulty in choosing the premier league over the bundesliga. We would probably offer better wages, facilities and even teammates. Unless you are getting champions league football there is no reason to be playing anywhere else in Europe unless you have an option in Spain.

Thats it I cant see Genoa being too attractive an option so it could come down to if Dortmund get into the Champions League
