For an ambitious player there shouldn't be any difficulty in choosing the premier league over the bundesliga. We would probably offer better wages, facilities and even teammates. Unless you are getting champions league football there is no reason to be playing anywhere else in Europe unless you have an option in Spain.

The Bundesliga is one of the top leagues in the world. Borussia Dortmund are one of the biggest teams in Germany, playing in front of 60,000 fans at home each game. They are on course to play in the Champions League. I wouldn't blame him if he did go there. Would prefer it if he joined us though.

Other than Sky and Nicko the only link I can find with Dortmund is this and one on a WC blog which reads like its a remake of the Sky report.

My link

As you can see by the date it's quite a while back May or July last year.

Let's hope they have lost interest.

Fulham where also interested in Dec last year.

There's a big difference between "one of the top" and the top. La Liga and the premier league stand alone, any player who goes anywhere else for any reasons apart from a lifelong dream to play for a particular club or because he wants guaranteed first team football is a fool.

N'Zonzi, although. He's decent; IMO he isn't good enough yet to be THE main central midfielder.

Watch Grella today and you'll see how he does his job effectively.

He's like a Roy keane type player, rough them up then spread the play.

I've had to miss the Everton game today due to work but i'm told N'Zonzi has scored a screamer and Grella, is he on the sick again ?

N'Zonzi is for now Rovers main central midfielder.

Vince Grella, superarran, is'nt anywhere near Roy Keanes standard and never will be. Just like Andrews, the sooner they are both out the Ewood exit door, the better Rovers prospects will be in the premier league.

No he was on the bench.

I didn't say he was at the same standard as keane, I said he was the same type of player.

If you honestly think he's not good enough and uneffective at rovers; I think you're missing the point of his role in the team.

Nicko any chance of a 11'oclocker tonight?. Any chance this polish fella will come after the air traffic problems are cleared up?.

Would an 11 am-er do?

Lewandowski is obviously now a very hot topic. The fee is as good as agreed between the clubs who want him and Lech Poznan.

Now it is down to the player. It's quite good to see that he wants to have a look at his prspective employers - Rovers, Dortmund or Genoa. That makes it sound like the boy knows what he is doing.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon and then you either get the striker you want and know what cash you have left - or move on to the next target.

Interesting tale.

Do we have other targets on the striker front Nicko Besides the Pole and Dindane ? Also Martin Petrov has decided against a new contract at City. Now I know that he is injury prone but he would fit into our squad quite nicely. Sorry Nicko I forgot to mention Mauro Boselli are we no longer chasing him ?

Lewandowski is clearly the target that needs to be sorted out first - because the club wants to sell and there are rivals.

You can decide on Dindane later because all of the homework and figures have been discussed on that one.

Boselli's injury has come at a bad time but he is a 'live' one although I imagine that would only be if Lewandowski goes elsewhere because I can't see Rovers buying both at the cost.

Petrov is an interesting player. He is a very good free agent but those injuries would worry me - but expect his name to be linked all over the place in the summer.

Cheers for that Nicko , I agree that Petrov Is injured a lot but if Our "Beckham from Norway" decides against a new contract he is a player that Sam should consider bringing in.

Even at the age of 31 he would add quality to the squad.

He has the experiance in this league and would score a few goals as well .

But not if you are going to a team that is twice the size that we are, playing in front crowds three times the size of what we get, and the chance of playing in the Champions League. This is the Bundesliga, which isn't the top league, but hardly something to laughed at. It's not like he is joining a team in Belgium.

Anyway, saw this goal from yesterday by a player that we've been linked with,

Boselli was injured in January so Im surprised he was linked just recently and no one knew about his injury.

In a sense he may as well join one of the top teams in Belgium (Belgian sides nearly outperformed German sides in European competition this season).

It pains me to say it as someone born and brought up in France, but the fact is that every players goal should be to get to Spain or England. You forget that by playing for a club in one of Europe's smaller leagues that you will be playing mostly against players who would never make it to the Premier League or La Liga. The crowds may be better for your home games, but you don't get to travel to Old Trafford or Anfield and you also slightly reduce your chances of getting a move to one of the very big clubs.

It certainly looks like we have some potentially very exciting strikers on the radar.

Both Boselli and Lewandowski are risks coming from leagues which present different challenges to the PL but both look to be outstanding prospects.

Lewandowski will probably be worth a few hundred extra fans each game knowing how much Poles like to support their fellow countrymen.

Frank Ribery, who was also born and raised in France, would disagree..

Here is a World Class player who has never played in Spain or England despite having ample ooportunity to do so. In 2007 he turned down the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid to stay at Marseille (as well as the club not wanting to sell either but he supported them and did the opposite to Benni by coming out and announcing he was staying and was happy to do so). And in the last summer window lots of top British, Spanisha nd Italian clubs offereds silly money and yet again he showed no sign of wanting out.

Pele would be another example...
