Hughesy
Is it wise for us letting him see how we play? If I was him, I wouldn't fancy signing for Rovers knowing that I was gonna spend 3 years battling with two centre-halves and chasing 90 yard balls aimed vaguely in my direction .... If he was introduced to you then their is no doubt he wouldnt sign for us - doomsday merchant!

MarkBRFC71
If he was introduced to you then their is no doubt he wouldnt sign for us - doomsday merchant! Oh damn. Caught being slightly negative by the chairperson of the Sam Allardyce Fan Club. Obviously I'm much less of a Rovers fan than someone who follows BFS with blind love and loyalty. LeChuck
Perhaps you should change your avatar to a picture of a sheep? If he does that will you put a picture of a dinosaur to reflect your comments on formations? Sounds like a fair deal. By the way, the rock monkey is not for change under any circumstance. bennyboyt11
Same old cr@p. Every transfer window we get the same comments and up to now Sam has signed more players than expected. I'm not slating Big Sam's transfer policy, more how we're linked with exciting players and end up with the players we weren't originally going for. philipl
Simply reading what has been written: - Genoa have bid £4.3m - Borusia have not bid yet but are making it clear they are not going anywhere close to £5m - Rovers are saying they are not going to £5m The lad wants to see all three clubs and there is a load of volcanic ash preventing air travel. Just out of interest, did the two guys who went to see Boselli get out in time or are they still in South America?
MarkBRFC71
If he does that will you put a picture of a dinosaur to reflect your comments on formations? I can't - I think Big Sam very aptly uses the dinosaur picture. Wouldn't want to step on the old man's toes. I think Saturday is an interesting examination of formations in miniature - 70 mins, 4-5-1, hoofball, boring as f**k, lost 1-0. 20 mins 4-4-2, far more excitement, scored 2, drew 2-2. modes98
Club is being cautious, buying a player for circa £5 million is a big deal for Rovers, we simply are not in a position to make expensive mistakes. The bad thing about todays market is that £5m is nothing to spend on a player that doesn't work out. Especially when it comes to goal scorers, sometimes you can only do so much homework and then you just have to go for it (not saying that this is the one to do it on but he seemed ok from his highlight reel). There will always be a club a couple of years down the line who will take a chance on him if he failed with us, for a significant fee. We are almost at a stage where we can't afford to make any mistakes with a transfer over £1m. As long as Sam can keep picking up the cheap youngsters that come in and do a job we will be ok for depth just need that quality up top.

OJRovers
Standard Rovers tactics as far as I can see, we don't often over-pay for players (can't afford it). I'm sure if Sam really wants him we'll get him. Isn't Ledley on a free this summer? Nicko - any chance of BS targetting another 'galactico' this summer to add to his collection? Maybe this could be Basturk?
Ricky
Ledley is out of contract but there will be a fee due to his age. Cardiff will point to the fact that they turned down a £5m+ offer from Everton for him in order to push the fee up.

If it doesn't work we'll get our money back anyway? Maybe that's what Peter Ridsdale and Mike Ashley said in the past.

Ewood and I Would
Pretty sure it applies to all players under 24 years old. According to wiki UEFA regulations still state that a fee must be paid for players under the age of 23 in consideration for the viability of lower income clubs. If Rovers want him we'll more than likely sign him. If he comes to visit our club and see's the training facilities and see's that he has a realistic chance of starting every week he'll want to be here. The season isn't over yet therefore the transfer window isn't open yet. I wish people would calm down about this 21yr old unproven kid from an inferior league. Well I suspect until the Volcanic Ash clears up they will be scouting in South America. Maybe the unplanned length of the trip is the reason we can't commit to higher transfer fees. Also if Genoa submit a considerably better offer than us then his club can simply choose to reject our offer and only accept Genoa's offer. Genoa have had a verbal offer of £4m turned down so how that translates to him being on the verge of signing for them I don't know.
