nicko
Anything new on the pole striker Nicko? Is he over for Mondays game?? That WAS the plan. The last I heard there is some concern that the player wants a bigger contract than expected and his club is tryng hard to get as much as possible out of all interested parties despite this 'fixed fee' he is supposed to have. We will see if he turns up. That is as good a guide and statement of intent as any.

67splitscreen
Somebody will be daft enough to give him full wages - either on loan or a cheap buy. And that club will then be in a good position to offer him the chance of a third relegation in a row. Avoid. That sounds like the Barcodes or Wolves. savage90
I'm not sure if this is true, but it's only fair to share- and maybe Nicko would be good enough to see if there is any foundation behind the hearsay: A friend of mine is a Chef and knows Nigel Haworth who claims that we have done deals for both Aruna 'Zinedine' Dindane (old news I know) AND more interestingly Frederic Piquionne. Personally I think they would both be welcome additions to our strikeforce. Though neither are prolific they have both looked threatening from what I have seen of them this season. With any luck we'll be able to pillage some clubs in financial plight this close season- I like the look of Darren Ambrose, and Hull are bound to have players going cheap. Funnily enough there is about a 20% chance I saw Piquionne leaving Brockhall. I saw a silver Merc, the car was pretty full - A Driver who I couldn't see, one or possibly two people in the back, and a black - African looking person in the passenger’s seat, who was the only person I could get a look at because the car turned left to leave Brockhall, so it was the side nearest to me as I passed. The guy had two distinct silver earrings, no idea if Piquionne wears earrings off the pitch, but a lot of footballers do anyway. Piquionne has only just clicked as a possibility now that you have mentioned him but it certainly wasn’t Dindane, unless he was in the back Haa! This was Sunday afternoon, about 2.00pm - Could have been anyone, but thought i better share!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade
Arsenal isn't the best game to show a potential signing. We'll be parking the bus and trying for a point or a smash and grab job, it won't be pretty.

LeChuck
Schmeichel free transfer at Notts C Interesting. I'd love him here on a free transfer but this bit makes me think it's not possible: "Tony Lymn, Kasper’s advisor, said “Notts County are being released from a large liability but importantly Kasper is free to look for a new club where he can play first team football, hopefully in either the Premiership or the Championship." Sounds like he wants to be first choice wherever he goes, and is prepared to play in the Championship if that is what it takes. I could see him at Newcastle, Steve Harper isn't the best goalkeeper around.

The Rover of Finland
From what i've seen of Kasper S he's not good enough for the Prem. He kept clean sheets when had a chance at City. He was horrible and even one clean sheet was a wonder. Brown is a better goalie I think.

ewoodpo
The Porn King at West Ham is willing to sell his entire playing squad besides Parker. If we had the funds who could we take of their hands ? I like the look of Mark Noble young hard working midfield player who can even score goals . I don't think that we'd be able to afford him, anybody else think of another player. saxo1man30
To be honest, I would take Gene before Stephen. it`s probably the same old simple minded(in football terms) souls calling for us to sign steven hunt that thought salgado would play in midfield. they see long hair and think `robbie savage or tugay reborn` hunt is nothing like robbie savage, the only player that was similar to savage in my memory was steve mcmahon back in the day. there ain`t many of that ilk that play the game, and their certainly ain`t ANY tugay`s anywhere. people should look forward to what team we are going to be now, rather than looking back at what team we were, hoping to emulate it. Savage, Tugay, all fair haired (bleached or not) played CF, Hunt is definitely dark haired and LS MF, no comparison with the simplest of minds. It must be you being 'simple minded' thinking we are looking for a Savage replacement. I think Hunt would be affordable and would fit in at the Rovers and give us that bite in midfield. We've got to be realistic with our targets, we need to target players who will WANT to play for our club and stay away from the fat benni's of this world. Nicko has put me off a little bit though with his comment about Hunt being relegated with his last two clubs!

I have no idea what his contract is like, but he did alright for that lot. I think it's only until the end of season + option for both parties for an extra year. A couple weeks ago he was telling about offers from Spain, France and Brazil, and said that he wasn't definitely staying at England, but I think a week ago he was already ready to talk about using the option with West Ham. Either there is no other offers or he was sure WH would go down
