alexanders
The big lump (as someone called him) that is Zigic netted twice and turned around the whole game for Valencia against Espanyol this weekend. He could've scored a real hattrick, but was flagged for offside (wrongly). Looked a handful and I think he has the potential to be a very good target man for Rovers. Aranda at Osasuna is a player who has been struggling in the lower division and is a product of the Real Madrid youth set-up. He played as a lone-striker this weekend against Real Madrid and was a handful for the real defenders. He scored once (a beatiful one on one) and had one assist. Worth around 1 mill Euro and might be worth a shot.

Keep your wig on, I'm sure it was said in jest. We've managed mid-table security with a measly 8 goals from our strikers, it wouldn't be hard for Nonda & Dindane to top that - provided we actually buy a decent midfielder. Eddie
I were on the PSG - Lorient match earlier this year. Gameiro scored one goal, and Lorient won 3-0 away to PSG(!!) He looked great, and was a brilliant finisher. Would love to see him in Rovers, but the price would be enormous. He might even be called up to France World Cup squad. Not good enough. More importantly to put that assessment in context: Lorient are above PSG in the table and PSG aren't good at all this season.
Hughesy
Says a lot that we are battling out for a signing with Wolves. What does it say?? Wolves are a premier league side now - they have a decent ground and a decent support - they are also from a big city...unlike little Rovers....so what does it say?? Amo
I read a story that Newcastle would offer Jimmy Bullard a PL lifeline, albeit on £15,000 a-week less earnings. If we could get a similar deal, would he be worth it? He's exactly the kind of player our midfield needs, yet there are question marks over his fitness. We have little money, it makes no sense to sign a player who will compete with Dunn and Grella on how much time they can spend in the treatment room. SergioPeter89
Big Sam is watching Wigan - Hull. Considering we dont have these two teams more this season, could he be watching for potential transfers, or is he just loving football?

Didnt Nicko say he was on crazy money - something like 55k a week? If thats the case, 40k a week for a crock? No thanks

gumboots
Not good enough. More importantly to put that assessment in context: Lorient are above PSG in the table and PSG aren't good at all this season. And Lorient often beat PSG - they are to some extent their bogey team.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller
I see Victor Moses is beginning to find his feet at Wigan - that will turn out to be one of the best transfer deals of the season.

The Rover of Finland
Scharner is a Rovers type of player. I just can´t see what we would offer him better than Wigan. Not money, that´s for sure. Wigan will have a good laugh when they sell Moses £10 plus M.
RoyRover
And Lorient often beat PSG - they are to some extent their bogey team. Lorient are a far better team than PSG, consistently finish above them in the league and then at the end of the season PSG usually buy Lorient's best player, who then ends up being on a PSG team that finishes below them! their internationally renowned Festival Interceltique concerts, they are going places. By the way, next year they'll be the first French league club to play on an artificial surface - means they can play even more of the passing game Gourcuff loves, if he's still there to oversee it. I used to get dragged to this every year by my parents! People posing as and people being desperate to be 'celtic'.
JAL
Could be scharner, with been free. Possibly, he does share the same agent as Samba and Kalinic at Rovers to name but two.

67splitscreen
Could be wrong but I get the feeling he wasn't. The cameras usually do a good job of seeking out players watching teams they have been linked with.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller
On radio rovers after the game Dunny was talking about the great job Allardyce is doing, how he feels the young players should show some loyalty to the club and not jump to a bigger club too early. He finished by saying he really hoped Sam would now be given money to bring in a top striker (citing Darren Bent as an example).
Hughesy
Just imagine the difference Darren Bent would have made to us this season.. Would be 8th minimum!
Bobby G
Hughesy, had we had Bent, I think we would have been pushing for a EUROPA League spot most certainly.
