SSN are reporting that Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander has died at the age of 53. No further news at the moment.

He was no age at all. Thoughts are with family, friends and all connected with Macclesfield Town.

This is from the BBC website: -

Macclesfield Town have announced that manager Keith Alexander has died at the age of 53.

Alexander, who suffered a brain aneurysm in November 2003, passed away after arriving home last night from the League Two match at Notts County.

He had recently returned to work after taking time out because of illness.

"Keith was a splendid man. He will be sorely missed at the Moss Rose and by everyone involved in football," read a club statement.

"Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family at this very difficult time."

Awful news. I was only up at Macclesfield watching a game 1 month ago, great little club.

A good leader who had a great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by all at Macclesfield.

RIP Keith Alexander

Terrible news and my thoughts are with his family at this sad time, as a mark of respect the England senior team and the U 21's will wear black armbands for their games.

Terrible news. I never met the guy but he always struck me as the perfect role model for how someone should be and a shining light of sanity in the crazy football world.

I'm in shock. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

It's very sad for someone who appears, from all I have been told, to have been a top fella. Condolences to his family and also to the Macc fans and club.

This is very sad news. I always thought that he was a good manager and worked miracles at Lincoln. People always say nice things about people when they die, however it really does seem like he was very well respected man within football and whose loss will be felt by a lot of people.
