I never understood people who posted every little thought or action that they take in life on social networking pages. A bit self obsessive.

Exactly, not when we have BRFCS.com.

Right, time for that cup of tea and later on I'm going to a meeting.

LT contacted Shah yesterday he said he couldnt give any details about anything but there 'was no worries' over anything so far....he is believed to be from a shipping & investment background (not sure if that rules out any of those linked on here)....talks are ongoing, however due diligence hasnt started yet!

If it is true that a group of Indians aged between their 50s and 70s were clubbing in London at 5am on the same day they met Rovers and the Trust at Brockhall, I expect the Trust are getting an extremely good deal out of them!

Is your message box full gunner?

Why do you and it seems lots of othere automatically assume that new orders will come in with a spend spend spend policy? These people aren't called Abromovich or Walker you know.

To be honest there is no such thing as a free lunch so I'm expecting any new owners initial idea is to restructure debt and trade players in order to siphon money out of the club. Remember that is the only reason why they are here. <_<

How would you feel about that veevs?

Even if they do come in and give Sam say 10-15 million (I will not believe we would be sold to not get better financial footing), it doesn't matter what we do as or who we sign as our wage budget will only go up. Currently sat at 90% sign two decent players and we could be looking at 95-100% of turnover on wages alone, that scares the crap outta me.

Can we draw a line under all this now? Whether in jest or laziness or ignorance it's doing my bloody head in. High time for moderation to get their fingers out and enforce the second commandment .....

2. No Txt or Warez Speak

TXT SPK and Warez Sp33k is not appreciated on the message board, please make your posts using good, plain English. TXT/Warez speak is difficult to read and very unpopular with many board users. This will be enforced in all sections of the board apart from the non-football section, where it is just likely to make you very unpopular.

I dont think anyone is expecting the new owners to come in and bankroll a spending spree, its more taht all business is on hold till the takeover is resolved. People jsut want us to at least be able to spend our paltry litle budget.

Wouldnt that be a pretty foolish business plan, we do not have many saleable assets do we?

The manager will be looking to strengthen the team in order to maintain and possibly improve on last seasons finish, thus selling Samba or maybe Robinson for a few million might clear some debt or line the pockets of the new owners but it will not help the clubs position. If the clubs position slips, the value will slip. If the club is relegated the clubs value will plummet.

Yes I agree they may look to resrtucture the debt somehow, I am no financial expert so I do not know the methods they could employ. But I doubt they could seriously look at player sales given how threadbare we are in the striking department for one.

Yes they are here to make money, maybe they have a plan, other than sell players, to do so?

Maybe they wont come in with a spend spend policy, however there is no reason to think they will instantly start syphoning cash off either.

A - We cant even spend what little money we currently have while this is going on

B - The Shah lot have already stated that they fully understand investment will be needed to compete.. thus one can presume they will be investing in players

I think your question should be more how would I feel if the takeover fails.. or we fail to sign anyone this preseason.

But why the negativity in regards to a takeover? The trust are not funding us anymore and have made it clear they are not interested in Rovers (or any of Jacks old companies.. I do believe Rovers is the last of the Walker assets they have left, they sold his remaining steel stakes and his airline), we need to clear a 12m loan by 2012 and without a takeover I dont give us 3 years in the top flight given our current situation.

Given the involvment of the IPL chap I am personally quiet excited.. the IPL has been the probably the biggest success in recent sporting history for a new venture and India is a massive area for growth potential.

IMO given we have been punching over our weight for years, our 10th place position, current financial situation (sales have paid off allot of debt) and the lack of investment this preseason this is our best (and possibly last) chance of being sold...

And no I dont expect Abromovich but any funding more than what we are getting at the moment (which is literally nothing) is imo a good thing.

Oh rite chillax to B a winner u need 2 hav a cool hed at all timez if my motivazmotifat advize is not welcum then i wil go off.all I wil say iz dat der r winnerz n lozerz in d wurld n i am a winnerz.

Are you Chris Nathaniel in disguise...? lol

Just a couple of things on the Indians [if they find the money for a takeover].

I understand India want to stage the World Cup in the next decade or two, so anyone who is seen as India's leading football 'name' would become a very influential and wealthy figure. I believe that is one of the reasons why they want a club to buy and develop.

And if ANYONE buys a club it is with the idea of making it work...unless you are a money launderer and it doesn't matter. To be fair, I don't think there is anything 'dodgy' about this lot in that regard.

If we became a money-laundering club wouldn't that mean that we'd have a massive transfer budget? You could be on to something there, Nicko!

Mr Nixon,

Are you saying that they don't have the actual money to buy the club?

same question from me as well Nicko. Are you saying, that these guys do not have the money to buy Rovers? If thats the case, then why are we still in talks with them?

Mr Nixon,

I'm not saying that. But until the 'bid' is at the right figure then they won't get anywhere.

But I don't think they would be doing what they have been doing unless they thought [a] they could fund the deal and it was part of a long-term plan that made sense.

Some buyers of Premier League clubs recently have done it for strange reasons, dodging a bullet, staying out of jail, hiding money. To be fair, I don't think that is the case with the Indians.
