[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

On the condition that I believe you are wrong.

These current discussions have been going on for quite a long time. I therefore believe that the Indians are telling the trustees what they want to do with Blackburn Rovers.

I also believe that various protective documents are being drawn up, as well as commitments. Soon evidence of money will have to be shown. I believe that this takeover will happen and the process is in hand.

It would not surprise me if the trust, in order to protect Jack's legacy, will want to keep a small hand on the club. maybe this is in the negotiations. Which may involve John Williams.

Oh I do so hope that you are right about the John Williams bit, and as a second desirable point also the JW Trust keping just enough interest to intercede in Jack's/supporters name if it ever became necessary.

He used to offer it when shaking hands with people to make them feel awkward so it's fair game .

Maybe we can offer him a seat on the board via the Most Haunted team holding a seance. We'll be breaking into new markets there with the whole ghost/spiritualist thing. Or for that extra razmatazz, get that scouse nutter Derek Acorah in on it.

Right, I'll stop now.

Can I just state that I am confident that Rovers will not be sold this year.

If your right then we have serious problems which the club need to address.

I don't think you are but we need an interim buying policy that allows us to trade regardless of the takeover situation. If we are in limbo for the majority of the season then we will struggle.

Is not JW employed by the trustees to work for rovers. If so, after the takeover is completed, the trust could ask him to go to another of their businesses, after he is their employee. Or is that completely wrong?

Text books give a black and white answer, all very neat, however reality often turns things a muddy shade of grey.

JW will be employed by Rovers, his appointment though had to be proposed by someone, supported by someone and sanctioned by someone, that someone is the body of shareholders at a general meeting. However we all know that 'shareholders' really refers to a single body ie the Trust and so JW would have been proposed and voted in as their man (probably from a list of one). However, technically, directorships are an appointment of the club not the Trust and a director will operate in an agency relationship with the Trust. When/if the Indians own all the shares then they can vote in someone else or stick with JW, the Trust can't pull him out as he's his own man.

I think we have to question though whether or not JW will WANT to stay on. He has less working days ahead of him than behind him and he may take the view that a successful sale is 'duty done' to Jack and so move on to different challenge or simply retire.

Truthfully all this stuff is a distinction with a difference, simply put JW will do what he likes. If you're having difficulty sleeping then this should help "http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2006/ukpga_20060046_en_13"

If the takeover goes ahead then my name will be first on the petition to implore JW to stay on.

We know little about the consortium involved, how many people are in it, how much money they have, whether the bid will go through or not and so on. So to speculate about whether JW will be kept on or not or to go on about how terrible it would be if he weren't is just pointless speculation to the nth degree and approaching masochism.

I hope all is right about this takeover because I shudder at the consequences if it isn't. That's all i can say.

Have talked to Saurin Shah, just verifying it is actually him and then hopeful of getting a "on the record" exclusive interview for thIs website very soon.

Conversation was brief, he wanted to know who I was and about this site, when I told him about this site was very interested in giving a interview, I told him that the interview would have to be "on the record". No doubt he or his advisors will be checking this site from now on.

Great news. Fingers crossed, would be a big coup for the site.

Can I be the first to say how wonderful I think they are. I am also available to work for Blackburn Rovers and on behalf of BRFCS members, we would like the following players: Messi, Ronaldo, Kaka & Ashley Ward.

Especially Ashley Ward, and maybe Damien Duff?

Ha ha great stuff Tim.

He did ask about perception of the fans, told him that at the moment it was mixed, most people concerned because they do not know what is going on and do not know anything about the people trying to buy the club.

If he agrees to talk on the record will base my questions from what people have posted in this thread as well trying to find out their motivations for trying to purchase Rovers.

Please no PM's he did not tell me anything secret, rightly wanted to verify who I was and this site, and vice versa for me.

Fantastic Kamy - cant wait to read what he has to say! i think this is a positive step if his consortium are the new owners, it will most likely endear him to some of the fans that view this negatively.

Hmmm... you sure its actually him?

Seems mighty strange that after confirming he has a NDA with Rovers that he would then go on record here of all places.

Not only that could it possibly put any deal at risk if he possibly says something he shouldn't

Think I may have stumbled across a little more information for us all to mull over re: the Indian consortium.

I think another name of a member in the consortium with Saurin Shah is Luis Bernat. This is a Spanish gentleman who is the owner at HOLGER KRISTIANSEN, which is a Danish shipping company. I put his name into Google and he is actually listed as a friend of one Saurin Shah (not the same picture of the one that's been doing the rounds on the board incidentally). Maybe someone would like to send him a message, see if he gives any info back?? ;)

So, some interesting websites which may be of interest:

The 'actual' Saurin Shah's Facebook site

The Contact page from Holger Kristiansen, listing Luis Bernat as the President and giving his mobile number!!

Luis Bernat's LINKED IN website.

If nothing else, something else for us all to discuss! :tu:

Looking at Shah's friends on facebook he does had Luis Bernat listed as a friend....

He hasn't agreed to anything yet, he wanted to check out who I am and vice versa, what I said to him is that if he agrees to an interview then it has to be on the record.

He was interested when I told him that this would be an excellent opportunity to talk directly to fans, so am hopeful that this interview could happen.

Great News if he does the interview. Think most fans just want to know about what's his plans for the club are. Most Fans don't want a liverpool or a pompey situation at rovers. That's the main CONCERN for fans!!! The four questions i would like to ask him these:-

1) Will John Williams still be Chairman?

2) Is He's putting his own money into the club and not a Bank Loan on the club

3) Will Big Sam still be manager under him? If so, will he been a bigger transfer budget to spend

4) Will season ticket prices still be the same or will they go up
