[Archived] Rovers Might Have Been Sold?

Recommended Posts

I hate to say it but looking at that tweet all it says to me on there is it's no nearer to completion. Nicko said the tweet was interesting so could someone please tell me where is the interesting part of the twitter?. So far as I can see Rovers have not even been mentioned on the latest tweet updates. I also agree with most other posters that guy should be nowhere near drawing up the contractsgetting in the teas & coffee's might be more realistic! :D Lol sorry but I couldn't resist.

Nicko, are we any closer to the takeover being done? any other parties interest that you know off?

Kinell chaddy! Are you for real?

You really need to ask David Brown or John Williams the same question and when they tell you it's a done deal then Nicko would like you to pm him asap.

This deal will never go through.. And for good reasons.. BRFC Forever!!

Given the current silence and previous comments from the board, comments from the manager, comments from NVA and Shah, comments from Nicko, and the complete lack of transfers I would beg to differ here..

I have a feeling this one will happen, but not very quickly..

Well, if it's not going to go through it's time someone pulled the plug on it now and let us get on with spending the pennies we have got. The longer it drags on the more likely it would seem that something is going to happen because surely the board and Rothschilds are not dumb enough to think that we can go into next season as we are and still expect to maintain the value of the club.

Been thinking.. seems the board have taken this bid pretty seriously from day one.. though we may not know who the backers are, I get the feeling that the near instant lock down on transfers and the sudden silence means that the backers are not just serious but there is a good chance they have at least decent funding.

No business shuts up shop while its being sold unless its pretty dang sure its going to go through.

Couldn't agree more veevs.

I have a gut feeling this may well be done by the end of the month.

I reckon the trust are desperate enough to sell to anyone who can give them the money they want. They won't care where it's come from or whether there is sustainable investment, they'll be happy to take their money and run. I don't blame them, the Walker era was a long time ago.

I'm still incredibly sceptical about this whole thing. Why can't we find information on these rich businessmen? I can't think of other owners in the PL who could not have been easily researched prior to buying their clubs, except the dodgy ones Pompey attracted...and look what happened to them.

If this takeover happens and it's funded by borrowing, we are done for.

How good are Roschilds? Anyone know about their previous business take-over set-ups?

Surely they would only approach people with money if they are such a big company with a reputation to keep?

It is rumbling that something will come out in the next week.

The club are worried about the season ticket sales, lack of signings and how close we are the start of the season.

Mr Vintage, where have you heard the Rumble?

God knows we need a takeover but I'm at a complete loss as to why anyone thinks one is in any way imminent.

From what I can see no party or parties have ever come close enough to agreement on the price to even be allowed access to the books, let alone be close to concluding a sale.

Any party entering into negotiations with Rovers has to sign a non disclosure agreement so it's hardly surprising that there appears to be "a wall of silence" at times. It's not necessarily a sign that any deal is reaching a conclusion.

There's an easy solution to that one, the owners could make sufficient funding to buy a Premier League striker available to the manager.

So they should be.

We have a friendly at PNE next week and at one time I would never dreamed of missing this, but there's little to draw me there at the moment. Usually there are at least a couple of signings to look forward to watching. This squad is terribly stale.

Bit off topic MS Dhoni the Indian cricket player has just signed a 42 million USD deal with a Indian marketing company for two years.

This just shows how big India is when it comes to big money deals.

If the Indians do buy our club could this happen to us in a couple of years , big money from prospective sponsors.
